Sima #43 -Ocean Avenue

┎-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------┒
𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕊𝕚𝕞𝕒𝕤, 𝕖𝕩𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕝𝕪?

Simas are generally social mammals with average length fur and bright hearts.
Their body's skeletal structure matches one of a cat with its flexible spine and typically
lithe body frame, while the skull and paws resemble ancient canines such as a wolf- an
indicator of hybrid genes. Their fur is more abundant around their chest and neck and the
fur becomes more coarse as it reaches their tail, from abundant at the base to more coarse
until it's pure, soft velvet when it just reaches the jewel guard itself. Their jewel
acts as a weapon for self-defense as well as the guard, sharp against opponents and the
jewel is frequently kept clean for courtship and using their powers to their utmost
potential.

What's their favorite part of the ocean? The shallows, especially in tropical waters where the water is extremely clear and they love the coral reefs that can be found there
Whats their favorite seashell? Junonia shells, he loves how smooth and shiny they are, as well as the patterns. No two seem exactly alike

What's their favorite part of the ocean? She is absolutely fascinated by the Brine Pool. It baffles her how there could be a part of the ocean could contain that much more salt the surroundings, and through questioning it, it became her favorite part of the ocean.
Whats their favorite seashell? Her favorite seashells happen to house the deadly cone snails. She just loves how smooth they look.

What's their favorite part of the ocean? Bryo loves how weird the life that persists in the sea can be, and how amazing it is what that life can survive! She's especially impressed by life around the southern ocean, with fierce storms that go uninterrupted around the entire earth, continuously building up, and how animals can survive that. How the colder, saltier water around ice flows sinks straight down and freezes, causing a layer of ice on the ocean floor... ANd how deadly that can be is fascinating. How there are animals that are so perserverant in the face of adversity to choose to stay around Antarctica in the Winter - Emperor penguins having to stand out in the cold in the harshest storms the planet has just to help provide the best food for their little babies is adorable and there are seals that have to scrape away the ice constantly from their air holes or they freeze over and they have the sheer resolve to stay at the poles anyway! And look at whales, pushing past how tiny their food is and keeping their focus on what they like eating, rather than on what anyone else would push them to...
Isn't what life can push through amazing?
And there are so many ways to geek out about how animals have adapted to survive these things! There are fish with antifreeze in their blood, and fish that glow all different colours so their friends can see them, and fish that change sexes to make sure there's always enough of each sex, and fish that live and such high pressure that they can't even retain their normal shapes when removed from that! Isn't that all absolutely fascinating?!

Whats their favorite seashell? Nautilus Shells. Nautilus' are fascinating because of what they represent - and those dark russet browns on that cream shell are beautiful. And what a lovely smooth curve! And the segments inside are all neat sizes apart from each other, and all the same shape, and it's shiny!
Nautiluses are the only cephalapods that have retained an external shell, and the only branch of cephalopods that survived from ancestors with a curved shell. Nautiluses (to her) represent a lack of fear in being unique or weird or different, a perseverance with the things you value, even if other people no longer like them, and a resourcefulness with being able to use things in new ways no one else would think of or try.
But the prettiness does not hurt.
