There are whispers about Ace all around. He’s called a cheat, but intelligent enough to pretend he’s got everything he could ever want. Some call him cocky or rude and he doesn’t correct them. Why? Simple, they are correct. Ace is cheeky, nudging those who test him to the edge and then pushes them into freezing water. He basically steals the chips from every poker table he’s been to and then moves on – he’s never been at one place too long. This so-called cheater is known as an arrogant player, he picks up a few drinks, plays a game, wins then leaves with a handful of cards. All in all, Ace is an impulsive, over the top person; his steely gaze hardly snaps and he’s a down-right sly guy who does whatever he wants. Of course, these are simply rumors, he may have a bad reputation, but that doesn’t stop him from having fun. He’s indifferent to these whispers and, in his own words is, ‘the most fun guy in the whole place.’

Ace is completely different outside of the poker table. He gets distracted a lot, angry when he forgets what just happened and very tired all the time. Ace is smart, he lets those who believe in rumors continue with the lies.

Ace was the son of a nameless woman. He was abandoned and learned how the world worked the hard way. Everywhere around him people were cheating their way to the top; of course, he decided to do that as well. Gambling was the fastest way for Ace to assert himself, so he spent his mornings shuffling his deck of cards, the ones that he got from his mentor, and played solitaire. He remembers watching the man he called Uncle play for hours, his rough voice mumbling about how he lost and how. Ace always gets lost in the times when he thinks of the only man who cared for him. He remembers his jokes, when his Uncle made him play fifty-two pick up, his boiled tea, and his way of caring for him. His Uncle passed down the only two earthly possessions he had to Ace – his deck of cards and lucky dice charm.

Uncle always said it brought him good luck and would keep it on him at all times. Aces’ routine was like clock-work, he takes a few hours in his day to remember his Uncle, and when the sun went down, he was out on the town, his tell-tale dice choker telling everyone exactly who he is.
