A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

prompt;
if the days are well and hunting is good, every couple of months the pride is able to host a play. idrie is at the forefront of any production. walking in the paws of a character far more interesting than her own, and in a storyline with more thrill and intrigue than that of the average, uninteresting lion, idrie finds an escape in it.
once the stage is set and all the keening eyes of the audience are on her, any persona idrie wills herself to be, she can. the lone survivor of a fallen pride. the heavenly goddess of an old fable. the halfborn heiress to a coveted throne.
the plays can sometimes last a day, or span across the course of several depending on the length of the story and the amount of preparation put into it. it takes endurance to prepare and last the hours so faithfully, but if anything, idrie feels more energized by them.
the only thing that irks her at times is the memorizing of lines. they have no medium to transcribe every word exactly as they can, so the actors only have the reliability of their own memory to support them through performances. ad-libbing is an integral tactic to keep the show running without pause, and idrie is notorious among her co-actors for it. when they complain or struggle because of her adding dialogue or modifying the ones they had agreed to, she argues that it gives the performance a deeper layer of authenticity.
learning to act has been useful for her outside of the theatric setting. idrie knows how to put up the face necessary to win favor in social situations. unfortunately for her, her pridemates are aware of this and take anything she says or does with a grain of salt.
