prompt; Tabia loves how unique each birds song is. They all have beautiful voices that make each species special. She could listen to birds singing all day. Her best companion, Maina, is a pennant-winged nightjar who has been by her side for two years now. He was injured when they first met and Tabia wanted to help him. Fetching him food was all she could really do since she had no idea how to help with his injury. She was his protector and provider while he slowly healed. They had been inseparable since. He would sing songs to her when she felt stressed or down. Now they work together, him singing to signify prey or even threats to them in the area.

Birds are prized in lavender clan. On a lions two year old birthday they are allowed to pick one flying companion.
Lavenderlake’s pick was a small peregrine falcon female who turned out to be very smart and helpful. Lavenderlake named her companion clawfeather and has taught her bird many things. Such as how to fish and hunt for squirrels. As for other birds lavenderlake respects their ways and loves to watch them raise there young and play in the trees.

pah, birds! those vile, feathered things! sitanya despises them and all their beady-eyed malice. any encounter she has with them seems destined to end terribly.

raid an ostrich nest when the parents aren't around - the father comes running straight at her out of nowhere (it was plain grassland, where could he have possibly been hiding, she complained later), ungainly legs kicking out like a madman! nearly broke every bone in her body.

try to have a nice, peaceful sleep in a tranquil forest - tranquil that is, if not for the damned parrots in the trees screeching at the top of their lungs. they were mocking her, she promises it!

a stroll through the wetlands on a hot sunny day - in the distance she sees the silhouette of what could possibly be the ugliest thing she has ever laid eyes on. bald-headed like a vulture with a scraggle of white fuzz, drab black-and-white plumage, and a long stabby beak that could pierce right through her. filled with such abject horror that great goddess akja, bless her almighty soul, could have cursed the earth with such a horrible, terrible eyesore of an animal, sitanya turned tail and ran straight back home. her pridemates may have told her it was a 'marabou stork', but sitanya swears it was a demon, come to signal her early demise.

curse those birds and all their twittering and fluttering, she says. if she could swipe them all off that sky they so love to hog all to themselves, she would will it.

Steinia owns two black crows, and they come around almost everyday.
Steinia started to notice that after her hunts, two crows would follow her home with the food. She thought it would only happen once, but once it started happening more and more often, she began to tear little pieces of food off for them.
Soon, the pair of birds would follow her around even without food, and perch on her shoulder.
The other lions did not like this at first, and would shun her when they would come around, as they were bad omens.
One day, Steinia did not return from her hunt, but the birds did. They cawed and cawed at the entrance to the dens before Kopa, the founder, decided he would sent a search party out for her.
The party did not need to search much, as the birds flew and cawed in her direction. Soon, the party heard Steinia's calls for help, and rushed over to her. A large boulder had fallen at her feet, leaving her stuck there, and the two birds stood waiting for her on the hill, cawing at the lions, obviously very stressed that their "owner" was in trouble.
After taking a long two hours to free her, she made it back to the camp by dark with nothing more than a broken toe. Ever since then, the two birds have yet to leave her side, and caw in the direction of water, food, and even on one occasion, a stray cub in need of help. She still feeds them, and the pride will even set aside scraps and pieces for them to eat after their meal.
The birds, named Huerans and Ophelia, are welcome members in the pride now, and are even given honorary ranks, known as "Bird Meddlers".

prompt;Her pride found it odd at first, as Subira watched the birds. She didn’t stalk them, not a single inclination to hunt them. She just watched them interact. She listened to their songs. Admired their colours.

When she found a baby parrot, injured and alone, it wasn’t a snack to be put out of its misery. It was precious, and worth saving, ugly pin feathers, beady eyes and all.

She fed it day and night, kept it warm. Taught it to trust her, then taught it to speak. The fright another lion got when the parrot made a croaky meow was one of the most hilarious things Subira had seen.

prompt; Hecate has always adored birds. She thinks it would be great to be able to fly like one of them, free to do or be whatever she wants to be (and free of responsibility). Who wouldn't be awed by fragile creatures that somehow manage to have a power no lion she has met has ever been capable of achieving? At one time, Hecate owned (though she most likely wouldn't call it that) a falcon, one she'd rescued after finding him with his wing broken. Named Messenger by Hecate, the falcon became quite loyal to her after she nursed him back to health, often accompanying her throughout her day and choosing to nest quite near the pride's camp. However, when the Mountain Pride fell, Hecate was forced to leave Messenger behind, not wanting to potentially endanger him. She's not sure whether or not he understood her when she insisted to him that he stay behind, but based on the way he mournfully watched her leave but didn't choose to follow, Hecate can only assume he got the message.
