prompt;
the point of the day when the sun has reached its highest peak, and all the earth is bathed in warmth. nap-time for lions all across the land commences. after a long and strenuous hunt, deseer likes to kick back and relax. conversation, though she seems fairly adept at it, is a big drain on her energy alongside the day's activities, so she enjoys having time to herself to simply shut out the rest of the world. when all her pridemates are asleep, the surroundings take on a serene quality to them. no more chatter, no more busy-bodying, it's just the grass, the sun, and the skies that keep her company. she stays awake for a bit longer than the others just so she can take it all in. she can meditate and let her thoughts flow freely, resting on nothing in particular and not pressuring herself to dwell on the more complicated things in life. just enjoying existence as it is.

prompt; A small cub walked with her mom into the red forest. She was still young, but at the same time old enough to understand what was happening. She glances at her mother, who was on the brink of tears. When they eventually reached a lake the mother looked at her cub “Go now, Kindle. On a night just like this one I’ll find you again.” Kindle looked up at the moon shining above. “Promise?” She softly asked her mother. “Promise.” She answered.

The cub knew her mom’s instructions well. Just keep walking among the lake until you found them. Kindle felt alone and scared, but the moon seemed to guide her, protect her, as she walked this foreign path. The night sky had always reminded her of her mothers eyes, which were a deep blue that, at least to Kindle, always seemed to hold an endless amount of love.

Her mom had told her to find the small dock and to then keep walking just a little further until she found the camp of the pride that were rumored to live there. When she reached the dock however, Kindle couldn’t help herself. Walking onto the dock she realized that the reflection of the moon in the huge lake was enough to push the emotions that Kindle had until now managed to keep suppressed so well out. She sobbed, her tears landing into the lake below, making the reflection of the sky ripple. The cub was going to make sure that would never forget why she loved the night so much.

Eventually, Kindle was found by the Eternal snow pride. She had fallen asleep on the dock. When she woke up, the lions gently offered to take her home with them. Kindle gladly accepted.
