Have you ever wondered how you ended up in a situation you had no desire to be in? Journey wonders it all the time, and so does Scott Calvin, a man dedicated to the role of Santa Claus despite having no interest in serving that role. Journey just wanted to be happy by themself, to live a life without strife and without other cats telling him what they were doing wrong and what they had to do... and that was exactly what Scott Calvin wanted from his life. Until the set of circumstances no longer allowed that to be true.

Journey had a life changing experience similar to Scott's. It was only through chance and unfortunate timing that Journey had to even consider joining at all; they saved one of the trainees of the clan from the icy waters of Leafbare, hearing the cries of the younger cat from their makeshift camp. Journey had no hesitation in trying to save the trainee, and in doing do they were offered a place in the clan thanks to their being in the right spot at the right time. The clan was in a bit of a tough spot, trying to find enough prey between them, as a sickness had taken hold of a lot of the cats, rendering them unable to hunt. Much like Scott Calvin, Journey had to accept their place in the clan so they didn't feel bad about leaving someone in need.

Scott and Journey also share some personality traits. Sarcasm and dry humor come easily to them both, and through the power of family and new friends, they come to understand themselves more, learning to accept who they are and taking the role they accepted more seriously.

Hawkdawn is caring for his loved ones, extremely loyal and always strives for the best to happen to BirchClan. Whenever something bad is happening he tries his very best to turn it into something positive. He soothes others, loves to play with kits and generally is very lovely and kind which is why Tornstar chose him to be deputy, even tho he has no Clan blood.
Another interesting similarity is that Thoren can fly and even if Hawkdawn can't literally fly, he jumps from tree to tree in an insane speed so it sometimes looks like it when the sun is already down a bit. This is why other cats often call him Hawkflight, but he thinks this sounds boring and prefers the mysterious 'dawn' suffix.
Like Thoren too, he likes to bring joy to his clan mates and it might happen that he randomly brings edible berries or other treats to the camp and give it to cats that worked really hard the last few days.

at a young age, dipper was adopted by the cats of the vale when he was found abandoned in the forest. as he grew older, dipper wondered who his family really was, and trekked out on a soul-bound journey to find his parents who he proposed lived in the distant town far from valeclan territory. once he got there, however, he was met with the cold hard truth: his father wanted nothing to do with him. after a series of events that made the two grow closer, dipper and his father eventually reunited under cheerful terms. dipper left the city knowing that his father was in good paws, and they all lived happily ever after.

however, this is not the only reason that he is buddy. dipper is perhaps the zaniest, most goofy cat in valeclan. he can put a smile on anyone's face; when he is not making others laugh, he is shoveling prey into his mouth like he will never see food again. dipper loves winter, too. he loves the snow, the cold, the overall feeling of coziness. he wants it all. he is usually in charge for the clan's winter holiday, aurora's eve, in which he goes all out and decorates the camp with seasonal festivities and adornments.

dipper is at full throttle at all times. it is rare to see him take a breath or pause to gather his thoughts before they spill out like an overflowing stream. he speaks his mind freely, and this can sometimes get him into trouble with more serious cats. however, this doesn't stop his good spirit and only pressures him to try harder to be their friend. his heart is always in the right place, and that's all that matters, right?
