After the The Great Fire, the clan has been in a melancholic state. The whole camp is filled with a painful, grieving atmosphere. But Snowkit has the perfect plan to break the ice: she will gift something meaningful to everyone in the clan. „But what can a small kit give?” you might ask. Well, something that is worth more than any prey in the territory, something that is for free, yet is the most valuable thing in the world: love and kindness. That’s right! She will go up to every cat in her clan, whisper something nice in their ears and give them a big, fluffy hug. She knows that it isn’t a very cool or impressive gift, but she knows that if someone would give her the same thing, she would accept it without hesitation, especially since without her mother, she has been feeling really lonely.

The small cat was going to catch a mouse for her mother, a fat mouse having been dug from its burrow in the ground to save itself from the cold.

Having been born in winter means she hasn't seen very many, and believing that they are incredibly rare as well as beautiful is the basis for her reasoning behind wanting to find flowers to give as gifts!

As torrential as the wicked winter winds, Ivykit is as rambunctious and mischievous as they come, even for one so small and young. However, despite this and her age, she is already a bright eyed and loyal cat of her clan with great big plans for her future. Her goal, like many her age, is to become deputy, and in this she knows what she has to do; butter everyone up so they just HAVE to vote for her when she's older! Starting this moon, the moon of the First Snow celebration. she plans to give everyone the best gift ever that no one else could possible outdo! The special sky rocks! She had been climbing a tree when she found a grass cradle of them, where laid three total. At the time she had never seen them before but she had pawed at one, only for it to pop! It was a little gross, but it was also REALLY cool! She'd never see rocks that pop before! So she ended up grabbing the remaining two and hiding them outside of the nursery before looking for more of those grass cradles! She's only found five more after that, but she's sure if she gives what she has to the right cats, she'll be a shoe in for deputy when she's older! Afterall, who can say no to special Sky Rocks?

Prompt:

Snowpaw didn't realize training to become a warrior would be so hard. The constant aches, a million things running through her head that she needed to do by the end of the day, always perfecting her posture in hunting or battle techniques... And all with late nights and early rises.

To the small, white apprentice, working diligently to be the best she can be, the perfect gift would simply be sleeping in. Being able to go to bed early and not have to wake up until sunhigh sounds glorious to Snowpaw. The idea of not getting up before the sun even makes an appearance to go and patrol? Not being awoken by other apprentices heading out to hunt before breakfast? Avoiding her mentor yelling her name and telling her that battle training was beginning soon, and that she would be dragged out if needs be?

She can only dream of such a sweet prize. Maybe one day, one day... She could earn it.

"Snowpaw!" Flamekit called out, running up towards the older apprentice, a grin covering his face as he skidded to a halt in front of her dancing on his paws.

"Flamekit?" Snowpaw asked in question and in greeting as she stopped to talk to the fire-colored tom who was already just as big as herself even though she was three moons older than him.

Sitting back on his haunches trying to catch his breath from the quick run to reach her Flamekit kept the smile on his face as he answered her, "I need your help. I need to get someone a present but I don't have any ideas and it has to be fantastic! It can't be some lame thing and you're the first cat I thought of who could help me and the best of course." He added the last part as an afterthought.

Listening to the younger cat before her Snowpaw already started to let her mind go off to think of ideas to help the tom. "Well first things first, who's the cat the gifts for?"

Flamekit seemed to pause at her question, his eyes going a bit wide before he calmed back down and school his features a bit. “Well um, I can’t really tell you that, if I do they might find out and it has to be a secret.”

“Well, how am I supposed to help you pick a present if I don’t know who it’s for?” Snowpaw asked him clear confused and no longer thinking of ideas when she didn’t know who to think of ideas for.

Seeming caught off guard the young tom scrambled to come up with an answer to still get her help with his problem. “Just tell me what you’d want for a present so I can get ideas.” He finally said with a smile.

Snowpaw seemed to think on this for a moment before she nodded, “Alright I guess since I’m just helping you come up with ideas for whoever this is.”

Flamekit got excited again with her agreeing to help him, proud of himself for getting this far and her not catching on or at least he didn’t think so.

“Well my idea of a gift, a perfect gift would be something that comes from the heart. Maybe not the biggest or the craziest thing but something that the other cat thought of for me alone. Maybe not even a thing but something we could do together. The best present would be time if it’s an apprentice we spend so much time training that spending time doing something else is always the best.”

Flamekit seemed to be hanging on every word before he nodded vigorously at the end. “Okay so something that we can do together, something that I know just that cat would like and is special to them?”

Snowpaw confirmed with a nod, “Yeah something that I’d feel is just for me and that I could do with the cat giving the present.”
