"How I obtained Zorah I065"
Logan, some other Neravontii Owners, Dossy and I all went to the planet Vashta. Why? To capture some Neravontiis. There included couple other Vashta animals. Even a species none of us had ever seen before. The First Capture however was Zorah I065. Logan shouted out to me that this was my chance to tag. There stood a Bay with short blue webbing over her neck, tail and on her head. There were Dark brown stripes along with glowing stripes that lit up. The Neravontii was fishing until it had caught sight of us. Before I knew it the fish she had in her mouth was dropped in the water and she was dashing forward. I quickly raise my rifle as the Nearvontii dashed towards us. I raised my rifle and aimed best I could with little time. I pulled the trigger and I fall back onto the ground as the tranq had hit the Neravontii upper neck almost near her jaw. Luckily the mare had hit the ground before it could fully reach me. Dossy helped me up off the ground, and we waited as Logan prepared the Mare to be lifted off to the ship.
"First Month Home - After The Trip"
Zorah was loaded into a paddock in the back of the ranch in a more private and quiet area. There was thudding and loud squealing coming from the trailer. Suddenly dashing into the paddock was the huffing angry Neravontii. She had continued making all sorts of angry noises and showing it in her body langue. We removed the trailer and shut the gate. The mare jumped at the gate squealing loudly into our faces as the gate was shut right before her. We all walked away to give the angry Neravontii some time to adjust and calm down. Days had passed of the mare charging at the gates whenever we're bringing her food. We have never had to snap a whip so many times to correct bad behaviors.
"First Month Home - Time To Clean The Paddock?"
Two weeks have gone by of trying to correcting Zorah's bad behavior of charging at the gate when we approach. It has been unsafe to even try and transfer her from her paddock to any other location to even try and clean her paddock. It was a filth. All we've been able to do is turn on the water to fill her water trough and tossing food into her paddock. We had gates set up to lead her to another paddock. We hurried and opened the gate and we moved to the back side of the paddock before entering and cracking a whip in the air. We managed to get her to run into the other paddock and closed the gates. My staff began to work on the dirty paddock as I watched Zorah adjust to her new paddock. She snorted and huffed and even a couple of times charged at the fence in front of me. I watched the mare for half an hour silently to try and get her used to me as I get to know her behaviors.
"First Month Home - Different Training The Usual"
For the next week, twice a day we would transfer Zorah from one paddock to another. It wasn't easy work, especially since she had three times during this training process had busted down one of the fences and got loose around the Ranch. One of the staff had broken an arm and is unable to work for a few months. Finally near the end of a week of working on transferring, she had finally began to trust us and move along when told.
"First Month Home - First Touch Part 1"
It was time to start moving Zorah to a round pen and try to gain her trust even more. We set up the fences and guided her to the round pen. At first I only worked on her for 5 minutes at a time, three times per day, each time transferring from her paddock to the round pen. Couple times she tried charging me as I'd try and work on her but I managed to stand my ground. Four days have gone by, and seems I've gained her trust enough to enter her paddock. Even though I've not even managed to touch her yet. I figured a mare like this needs more time. I took a deep breath as I entered Zorah's Paddock. The mare snorted but then looked away as I entered her paddock. She pinned her ears back and bared her teeth. I walked towards her rear end and cracked the whip. Zorah Squealed and moved forward as asked.
"First Month Home - First Touch Part 2"
I worked her around her paddock for the first time, and for a good few minutes before I turned my back on her. I wait patiently for a minute before she began to move towards me. I turn around and stood still to read her body langue. After another minute had passed by I slowly moved my hand towards her hoping that I'd be able to pet her. I laid my hand on her face. Suddenly Zorah had reared her head, and nipped at my hand. Luckily seems no larger injury and safe to not back down just yet. I raised the whip and cracked it on her rump. Zorah took off and I had followed her putting pressure on her. I cut her off and turned her the other direction. I repeated this every 10 seconds for 3 minutes before I decided it was time to leave the paddock and tend to my wound. I left the paddock and headed inside. Staff looked at me and hurried to grab the First Aid kit and helped me patch up.
