Pauahi is a Lion with a level head on his shoulders and some one that is willing to sit and listen as he works. Though as a Sooth Healer that is what you do, Listen. He is there when those are grieving or hurt emotionally more then physically. He takes care of the mind so that way the body can heal. He is very much someone that is calm like the tides at night but has connected with the element of Fire. Using his ability to warm rocks for massages, provide steam to help clear head colds and comfort those in their time of need. He loves his job, though it dose have its down moments and can bring him down he dose have his dear friend Alani to vent to on those particularly hard days. To over all sum up who Pauahi is, he is a gentlemen and respectable lion in the pride that is the top of his profession, though depressed at times Alani is there to help him work though it. He tend to enjoy the little things in life rather it be looking at the critters in the tide pool or a stole on the beach. Pauahi can be a bit of a romantic at time and not many have a chance to witness.

Pauahi's head hung low as he walked through the caves, he was leavening his den that was meant to be an office space in a sense, with a nesting area made up of palm leaves and long grass and a rock where he normally sat. The Den its self was warmer then most do to his ability to control its temp thanks to the Ancient Father. His taught at this moment though where scattered about as he felt like he had not done his job to the best of his ability. Though he had to face hard ships from the whole tribe and help them come to their closure, he knew today that closure was not so near by for the lioness he has just been visited by. She had long prayed to the Ancient Mother in hopes that one day that she could to enjoy the rewards of being a mother, and when that prayer seem to come true, it wasn't long after that she lost it. The Soul Healers did everything in their power to help her keep the cub, but it was not meant to be...
At this point Pauahi had not realized that out of habit that his weary paws had carried him to the entrance of Alani, a Fire Keeper that was rather quiet then most. Though with him it was different, she always new what to say and it had been like this since they where cubs. They where tight like thieves and when it came to their coming of age they both chose to look towards the sun for their blessing, so they would always stay close. Her yellow eyes cut though the darkness of her cave, those eyes always manage to catch him off guard and he flushed just a little. He cleared his throat "Can I come in?" He asked and tilted one ear back, not sure if he had caught her at a bad time. Alani not noticing his blush stretched her paws in front of her and then nodded. He stepped in and plopped himself next to her, pressing his back to her side so his legs can stretch out in front of him. He let out a huge huff and shook his head before laying it on the ground looking away from Alani's stare.

"You know you will have to tell me eventually..." She said in a soothing voice, and she was right. The more Pauahi thought about the days events that took place, the farther he would fall into his depression. Yet something in him was not quite ready to face this pain all over again, so he laid here still. Alani scuffed and rested her paws on his neck and face to hold him still and began to groom his mane. It was a small comfort and he closed his eyes as he chirped at her quietly. Though this did not last for long as she made her move and nipped at his ear in a playful way that lead them into paly fighting. They tussled and hissed at the other for some time before coming to a load roar of laughter. "Ok, Ok, you win" Pauahi said as he attempted to fix his mane and sat down. With yet another sigh he looked at his paws "The young expecting lioness came into my office den today, she had been praying for many moons now in hopes for a cub, and today she lost it before it was its time to come into this world..." He said and shook his head. "I tried to tell her that they where with the Ancient Father now...but she is afraid that it will not be welcomed in his arms. It's not like most grief where there are stories and friends that can console you... She was the only one with such a special bond to this cub that not even I can console her. I can't be a mother, I don't understand what its like to lose a cub... I can't give her the guidance she needs and yet all I can feel is this over whelming fear that I can never help her find the silver lining of this situation." He took in a deep breath, it quivered as he fought back the tears that threaten to come. But one fell down his cheek just the same and he sniffled. Alani, frowned and Hushed him as she placed her face in his mane. "There, There" She muttered into his fur.
After a Good cry Pauahi managed to whip the tears away with the back of his paw and Alani rubbed his back. "You may not be able to relate with her...but you can still help her..." Pauahi's ears fell back with doubt and shook his head. "Have you considered Cub therapy? Have her go spend time helping the Den Mothers with the other cubs. Maybe it will help her see that one day it could happen and that the Ancient Mother has a plan for her..." Alani Suggest, maybe this lioness will find a new purpose in being a Den Mother herself. Puauhi was intrigued by the notion, it had never occurred to him that having her work with cubs might bring her the joy and closure she needed to help move on. It may be painful at first but the Den Mothers where always so warm and inviting to anyone willing to lend a paw when it was needed, and right now with the bomb of cubs being born this season they would be more then appetitive of the help. Pauahi looked over to Alani and smiled softly, feeling better then he had before coming here and rubbed his forehead against hers. "What would I ever do with out you?" He asked and then got up to go help the lioness he couldn't help before.
