Welcome to the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project
Euphorian Thoroughbreds are a rare string of the Thoroughbred breed. They come from a single farm simply called “Euphoria” that has horses with mutated genes. These allow them to be able to possess any realistic coat or markings. Everything else about the sub-type is the same. Long, strong legs, a powerful hind, and great speed. Their eyes are soft and the breed is incredibly smart, if not a bit goofy. They love kids and have the rare ability to excel in any discipline. They can grow from 15hh-18hh, though usually somewhere in the middle.
The horses readopted through the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project are looking for a new loving home and a new job. They’ve tried racing and have either retired or decided the sport wasn’t for them. Either way, they are ready for the next chapter in their life. Some of these horses will come with a little training already, and will have their new discipline already determined. Although others you’ll get to pick how they move forwards!

He pants raggedly leaning into the shadows and holding his breath. The men rush past his hiding place and he breathes again. He rushes form his place dashing through the snow just outside the heated touch of the fire in the middle of the camp. He is ignoring the warmth seeping between the fingers he has pressed to his gut. The wound is...dire. The trail of droplets falling into the tracks he is leaving behind spelling out his doom.

He barely makes it into the trees when his body betrays him. Muscles seizing in the cold as heat pours out soaking his clothes and colouring the snow around him. It is early for snow still, the leaves are only freshly coloured above him. He gets a head-rush the one time he attempts to sit up. He feels the numbness creeping into his hands and feet. Buzzing beneath the skin as his life melts the snow around him and returns to the earth he lays on.

He slowly shifts until he can pull the scabbard and bow from around his body tossing his gear to the side. The rich tone to the leather cradling him was always a comfort, coloured meticulously with berries and plants he bought off the merchant passing through. His armour was his protection but also his signature. He was teased in his choice of colour but it was his favourite. He finds as he stares up at the canopy that the sentiment hasn't changed.

The colours are oddly...cheerful. He is reminded of his time as a kid playing with his sister in the apple trees. The darkest fruit was always his favourite, the crispest of the pickings. His mother's favourite apron was always a loving beacon of apple pies and even better hugs when he brought her the spoils. He misses them. He can't tell if the ache in his chest is regret or the failings of his dying heart.

There is shouting from down at the camp he can hear the urgent stomping of the men as they follow the writings of his blood. He would not face their anger, see their flushed faces as they storm over to find the corpse of the mercenary they decided to rob. To kill.

He moves his hands away from the wound now feeling the spread of numbness reach into his bones. He lifts them shakily and stares at his own stained skin. His fingers tremble, muscles spasming as they starve of oxygen. The irony of that age-old idiom strikes him, his hands the colour of guilt rather than those of the bandits. Though he knows their's will be too.

He has a slight flare of triumph at the thought of them pulling gear away dripping with the remnants of his life, ruined for all their efforts. They might take everything but it had not been easy. There had been more of them at first. It was a hard battle him only managing to escape with the aid of a magic image. A clone of himself, a flash of colour to draw them away like a bull to a flapping cloak.

The dots dancing in and out of the branches like faeries pull him from his musings. He knows it is almost time. His eyes drift closed in defeat and he revels in the patterns that paint themselves inside his eyelids. Bright, warm, comforting...the hearth at home the love of his life holding out her arms. He smiles and exhales.
