Name: Lyssa
First Touch
Ruby walked down the path next to the main paddock, she’d finished all her jobs for the day and had let her Nera family out into the paddocks along the fence line. It had been a over a week since the first Tephlan shipment had arrived and from the very first time seeing A-0009 in her stall, Ruby had fallen hard and fast for the beautiful female with the heartbeat marking across her chest. She’d adopted the pretty cow right there and then!
She’d already let Lyssa out of her stall and into the small training pen to get used to the over friendly Neravontii from a distance (Ruby noticed Jaxx was already trying to climb the fence again and rolled her eyes, such a naughty boy), Ruby chuckled at the name she had chosen for her newest family member, my gosh it had taken a long time to find just the perfect name. Lyssa had a double meaning for Ruby, it was the name of a pretty blue flower, and it was also the name of one of Ruby’s favourite movie heroines.
Ruby was lost in her thoughts as she passed the paddocks and wandered down the path, trailing her hand along the fence to keep herself from falling. She sighed knowing that she was already late with her training for pretty Lyssa, and as she slowed, trying to think of how she might approach her new friend, she felt a light touch on her hand.
Ruby started and looked to see what it was, hoping it wasn’t an insect and found her hand being sniffed and snuffled by the Tephlan she had just been thinking about! She’d wandered all the way down to the training pen in her daydream and the Tephlan had come to her.
Ruby smiled as she watched the trunk snuffle her hand and then a tongue slowly peeked out from between the tusks and gave Ruby a little lick on the palm. It tickled, which made Ruby giggle a bit, Lyssa snorted and bounced her head up and down as if she was saying “yes, this human pleases me, I shall adopt her” and trotted away again. Ruby knew from that moment that it was going to be a lot of fun learning about this new species.
