Welcome to the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project
Euphorian Thoroughbreds are a rare string of the Thoroughbred breed. They come from a single farm simply called “Euphoria” that has horses with mutated genes. These allow them to be able to possess any realistic coat or markings. Everything else about the sub-type is the same. Long, strong legs, a powerful hind, and great speed. Their eyes are soft and the breed is incredibly smart, if not a bit goofy. They love kids and have the rare ability to excel in any discipline. They can grow from 15hh-18hh, though usually somewhere in the middle.
The horses readopted through the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project are looking for a new loving home and a new job. They’ve tried racing and have either retired or decided the sport wasn’t for them. Either way, they are ready for the next chapter in their life. Some of these horses will come with a little training already, and will have their new discipline already determined. Although others you’ll get to pick how they move forwards!

It’s harmless when he stops in his tracks and falls asleep, so he always gets plenty of laughs. Other than the sleeping issue, Sky is generally just a big goofball. He’s clumsy, likes to cuddle, and sticks his tongue out whenever he wants a treat. He is a barn favorite because of his goofy personality.

Personality: Derks aka D has a very short attention span, which is one of the main contributors to the end of his racing career so early on. While on the track, he would usually become distracted by the colorful hats women would wear and wanted to investigate the frilly accessories.
His attention span has gotten a lot better but he still has his moments in the ring where he gets side tracked by the decorations around the jumps and would rather sniff the flowers than go over the jumps.

During shows, he'll just stop in the middle of his competition when he feels like he's done enough. He loves to graze. His vet sometimes finds he is a bit overweight, especially when he finds a way to unlock his stall and find his way to the oats.

He is a gentle horse on ground, but once he is being ridden he rather go to his pasture and enjoy his time out in the fields grazing. He is a herd-sour horse who just wants to be left alone. Sadly enough his extreme talent cannot be wasted, hence why he is ridden frequently. Luckily, Goose is slowly loosening up and understanding, and actually enjoying his job!

Personality: Fae is not a believer of much. In fact, he has little trust in himself or anyone, really. However, Fae wholeheartedly believes in mythical beings. From fairies to dragons, Fae swears they exist. He learned of these mythical beasts from a book left out by his owner, where hippogryphs and unicorns danced across the pages in the late autumn wind, and ever since, he has, unironically, believed in the creatures.
Of course, it doesn't help that his stablemates like to play gentle tricks on him. A rustle of a tree when there's no wind, or a quick sprinkle of dust, caught in the sun to look like fairy sparkles.
So, even if you couldn't get Fae to believe in you, he'll believe in mythical creatures for as long as he lives.

A gallant grey thunders across the plain, verdant gaze intent as he streaks by in vibrant barding, fearless as the crowd roars and an array of bright hues blur across his vision, colorful barding of his fellow equines, and the flags and banners the spectators wave. His rider shifts upon his back leaning low upon one side, and a lesser horse may have stumbled or slowed, uncertain in the face of the sudden change of weight distribution, thrown off balance, ill-prepared to brace for it. Not he, no, for this was what he was born to do, a throwback to the knights and cavalry of old, a nod to- squirrel! A fuzzy brown rodent shot across the grass like a bullet from a gun, snarling dog hot on its tail, while the stallion so brave mere moments ago slid to a skidding stop and booked it in the other direction, rider caught completely unprepared, thrown to the dirt with their pole, already scrambling to their feet mere moments later, futilely attempting to calm the panicked stallion.

Needless to say, Val is terrified of squirrels, something which is due largely in part to some incident his owners are unaware of, which occurred back when he was still a foal. The little demon fell from the barn rafters onto his head, and proceeded to cling to his head for dear life, digging sharp claws into tender ears, when Val spooked at the sudden squirmy fuzzy thing on his head where he couldn't see it. Head-shy even to this day, the big teddy bear of a stallion shall pitch an absolute fit if anyone tries to go anywhere near his ears, and more often than not, is ridden with a neck rope- light and responsive and so eager to please, turning at the slightest pressure, and the battle really far more hassle than it's worth after years spent trying to convince the grey that not everything that goes near his ears is going to try to eat them. For official competitions, it's a trial in and of itself to get that headstall over his ears, though as soon as it's done, it's as though he wasn't just squealing like a dying pig, rearing up, thrashing his head, and trying to whirl away.

Big competitions come with other trials though, because competitions usually mean barns and trailers, rather than letting the stallion entertain himself in the pasture. Oh no, because in a stall, or left anywhere similarly as boring with a water bucket within his reach? The giant goof shall gleefully suck in a mouthful, just holding it in his maw, until some unwary passersby, be it human, horse, or any other creature, comes within his range. Which might be greater than one would expect, considering the giant goof won't just hold his head over someone to drool on them, no. He does spit takes, and takes pot shots, and has become fairly adept at aiming. Not even trying to act innocent as he watches his chosen target jump, ears pricked, with water dribbling from his whiskers. And if a pretty mare happens to walk by, well, he's apparently been watching the humans fooling around and teasing one another a little too much, because that mouthful of water he's been holding? He'll stop holding it. He literally drools whenever a pretty mare walks by, bored, sleepy eyes suddenly attentive, watching her as she breezes by, whickering to get her attention, upper lip curling in both natural response and dorky grin, water still just a dribbling down.

And if no one walks by to entertain him? The stallion is a bit too smart for his own good- a grade A escape artist, more than willing to fiddle with the latch until he can get out, and failing that, he has been known to climb over a half door, or plop to the ground to wiggle his way under a bar. Yet, he's not an unfair horse, and really, his fellows look so bored all cooped up, so it's really only natural that he helps them escape as well. This behavior was supposed to be at least somewhat mitigated by his constant companion and best friend, a black Labrador called Cookie, however rather than distracting the horse, Val seemed determined to show off for his new friend, getting into all the more trouble with the dog happily trailing after him, learning his tricks and how to best assist him, helping him escape, all the while protecting him from those evil, evil squirrels.

Which, while it might sound like an easy enough solution, considering Val never tries to escape his pasture, where he has plenty of room to run, roam, and stretch like he sees the cats doing sometimes, there's one small issue. Val loves to sunbathe, loves to plop down in the grass, give a good roll, and just lay there in the sun while Cookie keeps watch over him. Not a big deal? How about when the ex-racer actually dozes off, and starts running in his sleep, kicking and squirming and twitching in the grass like he's having a seizure, rather than just dreaming of his days on the track, or of being a noble courser bearing his rider into battle during the middle ages. Many of the neighbors and random people driving by have stopped by or called to voice their concerns as to the stallion's health, even after several years of this behavior, and signs being posted along the fence line, explaining the behavior and the vet's verdict. And of course, whenever they travel anywhere for competitions or to stud the gentle giant, and they happen to be fortunate enough that Val may enjoy the pastures there, this behavior is always completely new to everyone who sees it.
