Personality: named for the rough sea he was rescued from, Surge is a crazy dog with a heart of gold. Always hyper and always ready to play, he's clearly an extrovert and will be happy to make friends as soon as you meet him. He loves humans and dogs, but surprisingly his best friend appears to be a rabbit called Casey. It seemed unfathomable, but it's true. He's very rough and tough and ready to fight, but if it comes down to it he'll only attack if he's protecting those he loves. He actually loves the water, to our surprise, and will take any chance he gets to go in it.
History: as a puppy Surge dissappeared from his household. He appeared to have been living on the streets for a week or so before he was thrown into the deep sea by a group of kids. A neighbour called us and we rescued him. The sea was full of storms that day, so our staff drew his name, Eye of the Storm and then Surge, from that. Two weeks later, he escaped his excersise area and made it to Casey's. He was still only a puppy and none of us knew how to react. Just as our staff went to intervene, he lay down next to the grey bunny and fell asleep in the sun. In the following year they've become inseparable friends and barely a month ago, Surge even saved her from a fox. He was sleeping outside her hutch, the door of which a trainee had left unlatched. A fox lurked forwards and at the slightest movement of its head, Surge charged it. It barely got away with its tail and indeed a lot of it was left behind. We caught it on CCTV and watched it when they woke us up fighting. Casey would have died.
