On my journey deep within the timbered land of the untamed Yukon, I have found a breed of amazing horses that I do believe descended from either original pioneer lines or even further back to the notorious Vikings that were fabled to roam these lands. In any case, I have been studying these magnificent creatures and have found they are a rather curious and friendly breed, much like the Scottish Clydesdale. Large in nature, they typically can be found between 16hh and 18hh at the tallest. Their stance and very well muscled bodies make it very easy for pulling large amounts of weight all while never breaking a sweat. Very gentle and intelligent, the ones that I have become well acquainted with have shown a substantial ability to learn and comprehend commands. Their gait is the smoothest I have felt in my many years, with a stance that one could compare with dancing when seen running through open fields seldom provided in this harsh and dense terrain. I have seen very little evidence of the appaloosa genetics amongst this breed, though I do believe there are a few in its rarest state, so I will keep note of any I see. I shall tame one of these creatures -or a few- and take them home for myself, as these giants are the most fascinating beasts I have stumbled upon

At first this new mother was incredibly protective of her foal, but after several days of him wondering off she learned to not worry so much. On the other hoof, tinsel feels a little bit of disappointment at having a stallion instead of a mare. Tinsel would have liked to do fun things with her daughter.

Capricorn is a strong minded stallion and he doesn't feel the need to be with his mother all the time. He does appreciate the things tinsel does for him.

As a young colt, Reinhardt was a curious colt who tended to stay attached to his mother's side (not quite a momma's boy), but he was not a timid one. His mother, Snø, was a hero to him in her fierce personality and brave, yet respectful nature. She is a no-nonsense mare and prefers to be treated with respect regardless of who it is, whether it is another horse or a human. While young, Snø was very protective of her colt in making sure that she always had an eye on him regardless of where he explored, and even actively encouraged him to follow her up rocky slopes or difficult terrain in order to 'play' with him. Once Reinhardt hit two years of age, she no longer went out of her way to take care of him, but Reinhardt makes an effort to return to her side to encourage the play of his younger year or just spending some time showing her the proper love and care he felt she deserved with grooming or just grazing together, keeping her company.

At three years of age, he is hardy and a little overenthusiastic as well as quite friendly with people and other horses. He avoids aggression, but loves a challenge and will take any obstacle you throw at him. Because of this, he is an impatient but skilled jumper and practically bombproof, too friendly to associate anything as frightening, and will only be curious of the noise, though will disregard it if his attention is nudged elsewhere. He can get distracted easily if he is not on a course, but his focus is absolute once you point him at the first jump or ask him for a frame in dressage. Though typically impatient, he is an adept learner.

As a young colt, Odysseus was a bit of a brownnoser to his mother. He would always find her pretty flowers, would always stick by her side, would always brag about beating other foals in a race, etc etc. And while Chelsie loved her son, she couldn't help but be annoyed by his behavior and would often try to push him onto other foals, to have him make friends.

As Odysseus grew, however, he calmed down and went out and explored, making new friends. He was more distant to his mother now, but it was just how Chelsie liked it - she didn't have to deal with him all of the time, but she still got to dote on her foal every once in a while.

Comp: Scottie has an all in one type of personality. In his first year, he showed a rebellious temper towards his mother, Joelle, by going over her word and adventuring outside the barn at night. That episode might have had ended up in a tragic note, if his mother wouldn't have noticed that he went missing, venturing near a highway. She followed his scent until she saw his figure being lightened by a billboard, then Joelle proceeded to call his name, making the foal center his attention to her. Scottie was brave and felt a freedom he has never experienced before then. It was the first time he was on its own, but as time passed, he distanced more and more from home and from his mother. By the time he got to the billboard, he felt curious about the foreign surroundings, but not scared. When he heard the voice of his mother calling him, he switched to grief and then relief as at first he thought he was something else that might have put him in danger. He got closer to his mother and she greeted him by rounding her neck around his. This gesture made him feel safe by letting him know that his mother would always be there for him.

Scottie continued his rebellious behavior, demonstrating how much of an enchanted foul he can be until he turned 2. Joelle would dote him in certain ways such as racing, will prance along the fence, with their noses high in the wind, mane fluttering and tail raised, as well as getting into playful scrapes with him all day long. She was, in fact, preparing him to learn skills it will need later in life. After a whole day of training, they would roll down into the grass with their backs and then on their side while watching the sunset. It was their little moment of recreation. Because of his mother's big attachment towards Scottie, he had to be trained to accept a halter, taught basic skills, manners, and become accustomed to human activity a bit later than the normal horses would when they reach the age of 1. Scottie was taught that somewhere around the age of 2 and a half, but he was still very receptive to human training.

In present, Scottie trains for flat racing. Each day he runs around a mile in the flat for about 1-2 hours, then he is groomed and free to spend the rest of it with his mother. Joelle is still around him as a big mentor and role model. She won about 30 medals and trophies in the past on harness racing, being called one of the fastest horses at that time. Scottie easily remarks by his inherited traits from his mother, already at this young age, and his secret is rather stamina than the so said speed and agility that comes with it. He built his stamina back in the days when he was training with his mother, which was more of a playful game than a serious training session. His temper and rebellious side sure subsided a bit by the fact that he focuses his energy mainly on training nowadays.

Scottie's show name comes from the 3 stages in his life, corresponding to his 3 years. Red- his first year, when he discovered his rebellious side, white- represents the strong bond he and his mother built together alongside the 2 years of his life, and last is blue (royalty), the third year where he works his way to success.

Reserve with momma is kind of overbearing and colt is easily annoyed by it. She's a prim, proper, well-mannered dressage champion, and thus tries to teach him proper stance, behavior, etc. He's wild and high energy, and wants to compete in cross country despite being a heavier breed. Loves to get muddy and dirty, much to his dam's chagrin. Adore each other, just the colt needs his own space and she's a worrywart.
