Emberfall paused on her way back to camp, her eyes widened in surprise as she saw Shadowstep sitting with a tom near the shores of the river near the edge of the territory. What was she doing all the way out here and who was that mysterious tom. If Foxflare ever found out, it could be dangerous. She smirked a bit to herself, Shadowstep was always strict and criticizing her and now she had something against her. She returned near the rock crossing waiting for Shadowstep to return.
When the she-cat finally did they crossed paths, an icy gaze met a sharp piercing glare as ice blue pools clashed against forest green orbs as they stared into each others eyes. "Emberfall." Shadowstep warned lightly, "Shadowstep." Emberfall countered with a warning tone of her own. Shadowstep watched her carefully, Emberfall wasn't normally one to pick a fight with her. "I saw you... I know your secret." Emberfall said to her, Shadowstep's ears pinned back sharply as she hissed at Emberfall, "It's not what you think-" She started, "Oh it's not?" Emberfall questioned.
"How could it not be? You are so cozy with that tom, what if I told Foxflare or Echostar?" Emberfall asked, "N-No." Shadowstep hissed defeated as she looked away from the fiery she-cat with a victorious grin. "Alright... I won't tell them, if you do something for me." Emberfall said bravely, Shadowstep looked at her quietly, "What...?" She asked sparsely. "You call me your equal and you help me put Foxflare in her place." She said. Shadowstep paused, "That's all you want?" She asked surprised.
"I want you to be nice to me like you like me." Emberfall said, "Foxflare likes you, I don't care about that, but I do care that she has been putting the clan at risk with her lack of care towards anyone else but you... So you help me teach her the importance of the clan... and you be nice to me... and I won't say a word, I promise... I know you wouldn't be meeting with anyone that could risk the clan." She said.
Shadowstep sighed and nodded her head, "I'm sorry... " She said. Emberfall shook her head, "You lack trust for those you don't know... I understand that, but I want to prove myself to you but you always act like I'm ready to attack you, quit putting me down, you aren't the leader and you aren't the deputy. I admire how strong you and I want to be strong like you." She said softly. "Please...?" She asked. Shadowstep looked at her and nodded her head.
"Very well... then... for starters, let's go back and report that the area is clear." Shadowstep said, Emberfall smiled, "Together..." She said. Shadowstep nodded, "Okay..." she said and walked with Emberfall into the camp she blushed faintly when Emberfall brushed against her playfully. Emberfall smirked a bit at Foxflare who glared darkly at her. Emberfall would use this secret to get exactly what she wanted...
