DAY THREE
Username: Ladyskittels
Writing: Walking along an abandoned path one wintry night, Aivhr took in the scenery that surrounded them; a vast forest surrounding them on all sides with tall pine trees catching the falling snow from the sky above. It was something out of a storybook, a fantasy world that they could've never believed would exist, let alone for them to experience. The classic champagne splashed roan stallion took in a breath of the chilled air as they paused in the middle of the path to take in everything.
A cold winter's air felt good in their lungs; the cold seemed to dull the world around the horse and heightened their inner awareness in a way that had never happened before. An odd sensation indeed, although not one that was unwelcomed. Snow fell on the biological stallion's head as a squirrel jumped off of the branch that once held it. The horse snorted in surprise and tossed their head to clear the snow from their head before continuing along the path.
"I wonder where this path will lead?" They thought aloud, listening to the snow crunching beneath their hooves. It wound into the depths of the thick forest, fallen tree trunks had started to complicate the path but the brave and patient horse was not discouraged. "An adventure indeed.... It will surely make for a good story one day."
The biological stallion, a proud collector of stories, always was looking for the next adventure and for their next story to add to the collection. They had lived many years with their prized collection and was happy with every story that caused it to grow larger.
A loud snapping noise caused them to be jarred from their inner thoughts. Ears pricked toward the sound and heart racing, the horse took in a steadying breath as they prepared for the worst that it could be. A yelping sound followed the snap and whatever it was sounded to be injured. "I have to help," the horse thought aloud again as they cautiously made their way toward the noise.
Drawing nearer, Aivhr made a shocking discovery- it appeared to be a deer that had slipped and fallen, injuring itself on a tree that had broken during the fall. The champagne roan lowered their head to show they were no threat to try to calm the deer. "Are you alright?" They asked in a calming voice, their eyes assessing the situation. There appeared to be no visible broken bones, although a small cut was visible on the deer's leg.
The frightened deer looked up at the horse with wide eyes, frozen in fear.
"I'm not going to hurt you, I promise," they continued calmly. "I just want to help. My name is Aivhr, what's yours?"
The deer gulped and shivered, clearly not wanting to trust this strange being that showed up suddenly. "I-I'm Ginger," she stuttered, not making eye contact but not letting him out of her sight. "I-I fell on the ice over there..."
The horse nodded and smiled warmly at the deer before helping her up. The two talked for a while and soon became rather good friends.
It wasn't long before this story became one of their favorites; the time Aivhr found his best friend.
