dawnwhisper has had several unsuccessful litters, either losing her kits early or having still born kittens. all she has ever wanted was to have little ones to make over and care for, growing up in a clan without kittens around. it was something she craved and needed. on the verge of leaving swardclan due to issues she had experienced and bad memories, she soon learned that her clan mate, soulcinder was expecting. she felt jealousy at first, driving her away even more so, but then she had a change of heart. she grew closer to soulcinder now more than ever, making sure that she was always there for her when she was in need of a friend, especially due to her struggles with the father of the kits. when the kittens recently arrived, she felt all of the sadness from losing her own resurface, but soon after she also felt an overwhelming sense of happiness and love. soulcinder asked her if she would be willing to be a practical second mother to her children, knowing it was all the she-cat had ever wanted.

i feel like this really captured bittersweet; very nice little story, congrats! sorry for the wait!
