Owlspark looked behind her, snapping her attention away from what she was doing. Crowstar stood behind her.

"What in the name of the Star Cats are you doing?" he asked.

"Oh, this?" Her voice was somewhat muffled by a sharp rock she held in her mouth. She stood away from the rock wall. It was a soft enough rock to scratch something into, as Owlspark found out. On the face of the rock depicted some sort of features that were supposedly drawings. "I'm scratching Voyagerstar's story into this. Why?" She set the rock down.

"Well... why are you doing it? How long have you been at this for, anyway?" Crowstar narrowed his eyes.

She thought for a few moments. "Well, it's fun, it preserves clan history kinda, and... I've been at this everyday for at least a moon."

Crowstar rolled his eyes. "Why don't you do other normal hobbies like the other helenes, like patrols and walks and stuff?"

She shook her head. "Too boring." She picked up the rock in her mouth again and went back to scratching the rock face with it, getting on her back legs occasionally to get to the higher parts of the 'drawing'.

Owlspark would go everyday for at least a little bit and work on scratching that wall face until the marks all resembled a picture. This went on for a few moons. She would use mud, mashed up berries, and other things to try and 'color' it. When she had finished one part of the rock face, she would move to another part and start working there. When she finds other rock like the ones for Voyagerstar's story, she uses that. The clan found it bizarre, but what do you expect? Owlspark was one unusual cat, after all.

"Wohoo!"

The sound echoed through the forest, sending birds flying every which way. Amberstrike looked up at the tree tops, scowling. "I can't believe that crazy tom is at it again! We're supposed to be collecting brambles for the nursery wall."

Doveflame's head popped out of a bush. "It's not his fault there aren't any trees in PetalClan territory. If there were, he wouldn't have to do this while we're out bramble-gathering."

Amberstrike huffed. That still doesn't excuse his behavior, she thought, before turning back to a rather stubborn clump of plants.

Leaves whipped Talonswoop's face as he charged through the branches at top speed. Tree dancing, was what he called it. The wind streaked through his fur as he leapt from the end of one branch to another on a new tree. He grinned, enjoying the feeling of the leaves and the feeling of moving. Nothing could be better than running across the branches of these magnificent trees, ignoring all of his responsibilities on the ground.

In the evening time, Lochwish adores spending time with the kits and young apprentices. These are the cats in Floodclan who generally have far too much time on their paws. With prey regularly in abundance, their only job is to learn and observe, and learning and observing gets boring pretty quickly to young minds. This is why he enjoys their presence the most in the evening; sometimes it seems as if these children have far too much energy than they should during the day. Catching them in the evening means less time spent corralling them to listen to his stories, and energizes them for the next day.

For an old tomcat like him, seeing how the youngest in the clan hang on to his (sometimes heavily exaggerated) words never fails to bring a smile to his face. Storytime gets even better when his brother, Ghostmire, decides to grace their get-togethers with his presence. The two's combined voices spin outlandish tales to the children of the clan, and it's become an inside joke between him and his brother to try and wring out the most exasperated reaction out of the children. "Ghostmire and Lochwish, cats can't breath underwater!"

Ah, but that's what they think. Then, why do humans call some fish catfish?

Besides... it'd be remiss of Lochwish (and Ghostmire, whenever he storytells with him) to not share his stories and past adventures (with a bit of glossing here or there). Lochwish and his brother come from a long line of storytellers. Oral traditions and stories are practically their lifeblood. With no children to call his own (unlike his brother Ghostmire and his daughter), Lochwish is comforted to know that his words will still live on in the heart of Floodclan.

And well... in this small way, Floodclan's children are his.
