Prompt:
The heavy new leaf storms tended to overflow the river, watching all kinds of debris from the mountain down to the flatlands below. Fallenstone had asked for volunteers to go out and survey the damages, needless to say, Spriderfang was the only one who did. It wasn’t as if it would take more than just herself so she didn’t mind trailing along the river bank by herself. It was nice to be out by herself, even if the river was still rushing and overflowing with water and the banks looked like they wanted to wash away at any moment.
At the bend of the river was where most of the branches and other odd washed down with the storm. “Oh, this is going to take a while to clean up,” The molly mumbled while she climbed through the fallen trees to make sure that’s all that had come down from the mountain.
A glimmer of light caught the warriors eye, drawing her attention deeper into the brush pile, eyes focus on the sparkling object. Even as she got closer she couldn’t tell what it was, just that it seemed to glow, something she was sure was not normal.
“What the heck are you?” The molly mumbled as she began pawing at the hard object, a rock almost but she’d never seen a rock that looked like that. It took a moment but she was able to get the rock out of its place in the pile, using her mouth and paws to drag it from the branches. It was heavier then she would have guessed based on its size and even now out of the pile it seemed to glow from within.
“A crystal holds the soul of those long gone,” Words brushed in on the wind, a shiver running through Spiderfang’s body at the whispering words.
Her first thought was to drop the stone, to get as far away from it as possible, but for some reason, she kept her paw firm on the crystal as the voice had called it, eyes wide as she gazed into the light. Unknown to her it was just the reflection of the sun, for it just seemed to be coming from within the stone itself.
“This cannot be good,” Spiderfang mumbled, finally able to move her paw from the crystals grasp, standing and stepping away from the stone. “Can’t just leave it here for another to find though, if anyone knows what it is though it’ll be Emberheart.”
