Love isn't for everyone. Instead of always finding love, it is something you must earn.

Speckledsea believes that love isn't something everyone will get, it is only given to the cats who truthfully deserve it. The lonely, the sad, and the ones who need help somehow. Those are the ones who earn love. Everyone else must undergo acts of good deeds to earn the affection of another cat. If one cat earns the affection of someone else, then the other will soon, hopefully, begin to develop emotions towards the next. If love isn't felt by either end, the cat who lost love will find a new love one day, in the form of a mate, kits, or friendship.

She’s got a gentle, motherly kind of love that extends to friends, family, partners, and anyone nearby

Cause what is love really? Apart from caring for someone and protecting those that need it

Everyone deserves love and it crushes her how not everyone can have it, and so she spends her time with anything and anyone that seems lonely or sad and just listens to them, or talks until she can crack open their shell and then she stays loyal to them forever.

Even if it takes years to get a cat to come around, no one can live without love and so she does her best to be the lifeboat cats need so that they don’t drown alone in their own sorrow.

Prompt:
Darkening Dusk has a very strong and controversial view of love. To her, it is merely a waste of time; she sees no point in chasing after a romantic relationship when she could be chasing prey or intruders, either of which would be more useful to the clan. Though she acknowledges the fact that the clan needs kits to keep going, she herself would find only shame in retiring from her duties to raise a group of irritating kits. She feels that lie can only end in unhappiness, however pleasant it can be at the time; mainly due to her previous experiences, and the terrible consequences the love that her parents shared had had on her. If they hadn’t loved each other so much, she would still have parents.

Love isn’t fun, or exciting, or something to seek out. It is a complete and utter waste of time, and the only things that come of it are pain and suffering.

Prompt: Robinsong never knew how to trust and this made it difficult for her to love. She seems the cats of the clan fawning over each other but she just thinks about the pain they will feel when the relationship ends. Love is difficult for her because she only understands the pain that comes with it.

As a kit, no cat wanted to be friends with the sickly kit and by the time she was healthy, her siblings had turn all those of the same age against her, spreading lies about her. No matter how hard Robinsong tries, her Siblings hated her when all she wanted was their love.

The only other cats that she loved were her parents and by the time she was 6 Moons old, they were dead.

She doesn't believe in love because everyone she has loved has hurt her.

the calico crouched on the cliff; eyes glazed and blank. they didn't turn back, despite the venomous cries of battle echoing around them. the sun glinted terribly across the blood tainted snow below the crag. their eyes glowed with anxiety, silently praying for good news. behind driftingpaw, the caterwauls died and the battlefield grew silent. sunnypaw turned to look at the bodies strewn over the wet grass. they were horribly aware of the stench of death, and realised that the clan was gone. no flanks moved, no breaths were taken. but the love was still there. that was what love has always meant for sunnysnow. that vicious, never failing emotion which helped you live through even the worst of situations.

Unlike other cats, Chickadeepaw's favorite part of being an apprentice isn't training in battle and hunting skills. She loves doing duties that the other apprentices find tedious.

Even when she was a kit, Chickadeepaw was often found spending time with the clan's elders, quietly listening to their stories. She still listens to them now while she changes their bedding, grooms them, or helps the medicine cat treat them.

You see, for Chickadeepaw, love is helping someone who can't help themselves. She loves the elders more than any other cat in the clan, and has found a soft spot in even the hardest, crankiness hearts. The old cats love their little Chickadeepaw too, and they happily share their meals, stories, and advice with her.

"Love. What a stupid, meaningless word."

Iceflight was the runt of her litter, and was mostly ignored by her mother from birth. Iceflight's older siblings didn't care about her at all, and would go out of their way to avoid spending time with her. As time went on, Iceflight became more and more sure that this mysterious "love" concept some of the older cats talked about was a myth. According to the elders, a mother always loved her kittens, and would do anything for them. So why was Iceflight ignored and rejected by her mother? Iceflight spent most of her kit days trying to impress her mother, but it was of no use. The she-cat just wouldn't accept the runt.

When Iceflight became an apprentice, she thought she had finally found and understood love. An apprentice named Juniperpaw spent a lot of time with Iceflight, and the two both had feelings for each other. Iceflight's heart lit up every time she saw the tom; surely this was the "love" cats spoke of. At least, that was how it seemed. After two moons, Iceflight discovered that Juniperpaw was only pretending to have feelings for her because of a dare from his friends. It had never been real. Yet again, the concept of love was proven false.

As a warrior, Iceflight pushed away everyone. She no longer truly cared about anything, except her duties as a warrior. At least a job couldn't purposefully deceive or hurt her. For the first few moons of being a warrior, Iceflight mindlessly obeyed every command given to her by BloomClan's leader. Iceflight wasn't loved; she didn't matter. So why bother thinking or caring about what she did? She was just here to do her job.

Eventually, however, Iceflight began to realize something was wrong. She'd return to camp with blood-soaked claws, with no idea what had happened. What exactly was her Clan using her mindless state to do? She forced herself to focus on her actions the next day, and found that BloomClan was using her to exact revenge on the nearby kittypets. Horrified, Iceflight fled BloomClan.

After joining PetalClan, Iceflight slowly began to realize that love might not be completely made up. At the very least, the cats of PetalClan accepted and cared about her, which seemed to Iceflight to be the basic signs of love. Iceflight is still constantly on guard, afraid that someone will betray her again. However, she's slowly finding that she might not be entirely meaningless. She might actually be loved.
