Pallet:
The winter days are long and dark,
The scattered browns among the sand
The sun seems lost when things grow cold
And winter sets upon this land
The autumn breezes blow and blow
but this scarf will keep you warm
The cold is long and harsh and dark
but you nest will keep you safe and warm
This is a gift, to you my friend,
Though we wish for brighter days,
Heat and warmth and summer sun
One cannot help but be amazed.
This scarf will always keep you warm.

Pallet:
Walking through leaves
Crisp and thin
Brown and yellow
Autumn begins
A cotten scarf
Lays alone
Until this season
When leaves have flown
My neck chilled
To the bone
Wraps cloth
Carefully sewn
Now through forests
I roam
With my scarf
All alone

Poem:
My Scarf
I love my scarf.
It feels like the ocean
Running over my scales.
I love my scarf.
It fits me perfectly,
And seems to move with every ebb and flow of my body.
I love my scarf.
I found it
Laying on the ground
Attached to a body
With no one around.
I love my scarf.
I love my scarf.

Poem:
as the night grows cold
and I start to shiver
I pull out a scarf
Wrap it around my neck
but not too tight
it keeps me warm
on this cold December night.
The moon and stars
Are saying goodnight
I sit in the boxcar
Waiting for daylight
My scarf gives me comfort
And it feels like home
As I lay to my slumber
And in my dreams I roam
With the comfort of my scarf.

Poem:
A cloth of warmth embraces me,
Comforts me in the depths of chill,
A gentle squeeze is all it takes to calm the winter thrill.
Through all seasons the cloth remains,
through days and nights this cloth will stay,
For my mother gave me this gentle reminder,
Of her love and embraces that grow brighter and brighter.
My Cloth.

Poem:
A child born of shame
Though no one man to blame
Cast aside to roam alone
Until, he found a home
A man without a son
And a son without a father
Could he be the one?
Surely he wouldn't bother
An older gent, wrinkled and wise
With a kind glimmer in his eyes
A young child, hopeful and pure
With the man he finally felt secure
Memories last forever
Though people fade away
The man left the boy a treasure
When he could no longer stay
A scarf, ripped and torn
The man had always worn
Around Milo's neck it could ensure
No matter where, he felt secure

Poem:
It's a simple sign of how far we've come.
We marvel at technology, at slimmer phones and smarter computers.
At safer and faster cars, trains, planes, buses.
Sometimes it feels too quick.
But in his hands was an object developed over generations,
Crafted with love, crafted with care.
The discovery of cotton, of fibers within,
The painstaking progress of spinning, weaving, dyeing,
Turning strings into a final piece,
A scarf that kept him warm.
There is nothing like making your own clothes,
Picking the perfect color, knitting the perfect size.
There is no waste, no careless disposal,
For it was you who crafted it, and you alone,
Your hands, not machinery,
An original, not a thousand copies.
Plain it might be, but priceless it is,
To you, its owner and maker.
So he wrapped his creation around his neck,
Walked out of his home, into the quiet night,
People passed by with their eyes down on screens,
But his own was up, staring at the stars.
