Wet Bread ☀ Tempestwhisper ☀ she-cat ☀ Brightclan ☀ 36 moons ☀ Warrior

Tempestwhisper was one of the loners of the lakeside that grew up hearing stories of Starclan, her ancestors being cats from the original Brightclan. However, Tempestwhisper also heard one of the oldest Brightclan tales from her kin, the tale of the Sun Cat.
They say that Brightclan cats who have passed become stars in the sky. There is one cat so great that she became the sun itself, providing light and life for cats everywhere. This cat spent much of her life protecting the life around the lake and helping plants and animals alone. They say that she lived on the lake water alone and just the touch of her paws helped the plants grow and healed any wound.
One day a great darkness came to the forest beside the lake.

Everything this darkness touched was absolutely destroyed. Plants withered, animals died of sickness and famine, even the lake itself became stagnant and the fish and turtles began to die. The cats of the lakeside all hid on a small untouched island on the lake. The island provided them with temporary shelter, but it wasn't big enough for the cats to live on permanently. The cats constantly discussed what to do, never agreeing or finding a viable solution. The darkness grew closer and closer and the cats started to turn on each other, fighting and growing violent.
Then the Sun Cat came.

Enough of your fighting, my friends. You must not let the darkness tear you apart. The Sun Cat told the cats on the island.
The cats cried out in protest, What are we supposed to do? The darkness grows closer and there's nothing we can do!
I will protect you, but I can't protect your spirits if you fight so. The Sun Cat assured the cats, calming them greatly. The cats all nodded in agreement with their protector.
We will all do our best They said and held tight, trying their best to share and help each other survive until the day the darkness finally came.
Then finally,
The Darkness and The Sun Cat Collided

The Sun Cat perched on the tallest rock on the island while all the cats sheltered behind her. As the darkness approached, the Sun Cat began to radiate a strong light. Everytime the light touched the darkness, it dissolved and the light took over.
She's doing it! She's protecting us! The cats cried out with joy.
I can't keep this up forever. The Sun Cat told the cats of the lakeside. I will have to sleep and recover everyday, but I will always come back before the darkness can harm you.
The Sun Cat kept her word. Everyday she would shine brightly so the cats would not be eaten away by the darkness and then hide away to sleep and recover, coming back the next day. There came a day where the darkness itself disappeared and, on that day, the cats gathered around the Sun Cat as she passed peacefully. The cats fretted about their fate but found that their days had changed drastically. Everyday there was a big bright orb in the sky, which the cats called the sun after their savior the Sun Cat. Then every night, the sun went to sleep as the sky grew dark. But the cats never fretted again, they knew the Sun Cat would always protect them from the sky.
Tempestwhisper respects the story of the Sun Cat and shows her respect every full moon, the brightest night, by going to the small island on the lake and sitting on the tallest rock from nightfall to daybreak. She puts her face to the sky and thanks the Sun Cat for her hard work every day.
