Age: 18 moons
Rank: Warrior

Prompt:
Why couldn't starclan have picked him as leader? Sure he was young, but he was sure he could do a better job than what they had now. How could she continue to let strangers into their clan? Like that pompous clan cat wannabe Reedstrike, who she was even taking advice from sometimes. He was watching another of those shady cats she'd let into their clan. This one was an admitted rogue, now ex rouge supposedly, who he hadn't bothered to learn the name of, because why bother? The miscreant would probably try to take over, so why give him respect? The ex-rogue caught Rainsteps stares ad growled.

"Do we have a problem here kid"

"Don't call me kid" Rainstep growled back, pinning his ears to his head.

"I have a feeling," the older lion started, pacing toward Rainstep, "You don't give this much disrespect to anyone else in this clan"

"I refuse to respect scum like you!" The ex-rogue shook his head, waving his tail in dismissal of the younger cat. This only peaked the annoyance, so he decided to lunge out the older cat. The ex-rogue turned to face the claws coming toward him and slashed back in defense. However, Rainstep wasn't stopped by the claws that raked across his face, the two tussled for a while, Rainstep attacking and the male dodging, before Reedstrike was able to pin the other male down.

The ex-rogue laughed, causing Reedstrike to growl. "You've got spunk kid" he mused as Reedstrike glared down at him, "But that's not going to get you far." The ex-rogue kicked Reedstrike'c back leg, claws raking into him. As the rogue got up, Rainstep was ready to attack back but was interrupted by another voice.

"That's enough from both of you" mewed Fawnstar sternly, " I expected better than infighting from my clan, especially for those clan born." She shot a glance at Rainstep. The ex-rogue only nodded his head with a mild "of course" before slipping off without Fawnstar getting another word in.

"Are you crazy, he doesn't respect you!" Rainstep hisses.

"Neither do you, not with that display," Fawnstar sighed, and softly added, "Why do we get you to the medicine cat." Rainstep followed her but said nothing. He couldn't believe she would give any defense to the ex-rogue, but to imply that he too lacked respected, that was insane. She must have sensed the tension for she turned to him and said. "Leave the leading to me, I can handle him, or anyone else. What I need is support to bring us back to the thriving clan we once were."

He didn't want to agree, and he couldn't, but he could never let his leader fell like he didn't have her back, and he intended to prove it.

Name: Ice
Gender: Tom
Clan: Dawnclan
Age: 9 moons
Rank: Duskrunner

Prompt:
“Ice! What in the name of the ancestors are you doing?” Raven screeched. “You should be fighting Maple, not chatting with her!” She stalked forward, pushing her face up against the smaller tom’s. “You are my apprentice, Ice. What’s more, I am also the leader. So you listen to what I say, and you do what I say.” Her voice was menacingly low as she said this, and she fixed Ice with a fiery stare as she stepped back. “Now fight. I’m not telling you again.”

Ice took a nervous step towards Maple, their eyes locked. He slid into a crouch, putting his weight onto his hind paws before leaping towards her. She dropped towards the ground, flicking up a paw intended to slice his belly, but her aim was poor. Instead it struck his rear leg, making him stumble upon landing. “Sloppy, both of you,” Raven hissed. “Now put some effort in!”

Ice swung around, facing Maple once again. He leapt up into the air, feigning that he was performing the same move, but he adjusted his position in the air to land upon Maple’s back. She gasped, the breath driven out of her. Taking the opportunity presented to him, he dug his claws in and churned his back paws, taking out clumps of her thick fur and drawing blood in some places. Knowing that he was in a better position than her, he whipped forward a paw and slashed at her cheek. Enraged, she rolled over, unbalancing Ice. He jumped off her back the the last moment, distracted as she flew at him and bowled him over. Her claws felt like fire as they sliced across his nose. Her back paws churned at his exposed belly, taking off large amounts of fur and leaving shallow gashes in their wake. He aimed feeble blows at her face, but only one landed and it made no difference to her onslaught of blows. She knocked his head back with one massive paw, placing it on his chin so as to stop him protecting his neck. Fuelled by terror, he tried to dislodge her in any way he could, but his efforts were in vain. Her jaws closed around his neck, and he knew the fight was over. She had won.

Shadow stalked over from her viewpoint, nodding to Maple. “Very good,” she purred. “You have the heart of a true fighter. One day, you will become a mighty warrior.” Her gaze hardened as she turned to Ice. “You, not so much. You had a strong start, but you let it all go when Maple jumped at you.” Turning away, she waved her tail dismissively. “Go. See the medicine cat if you wish, it doesn’t bother me.”
Maple looked at Ice’s bleeding face and back leg, while he couldn’t take his eyes off the wounds he had inflicted upon her cheek and back.
“What have we done?”

Cat Name;; Thistlegaze
Gender;; Tom
Age;; 57 Moons
Clan;; GealachClan
Rank;; Deputy

Prompt;; "Be careful making your way across there, Thistlegaze."

"Wow, that's a big drop."

"That's why I said be careful, you mousebrain!"

Thistlegaze was frowning at the leap he needed to take. Nettlespirit, the unusual medicine cat with ragged fur and unreadable eyes, had jumped across first. It was tradition for the medicine cat to travel to the Moon Glade once a moon, so she was well-accustomed to the trails heading there. As new warriors, Thistlegaze and the other member of the travelling group, Cottonbrook, were also required to make to make the trip, so the Ancestors may acknowledge them as fully-fledged warriors of GealachClan. They’d made the trek up, taking an alternate route due to flooding blocking the usual path, and were now on the descent.

Cottonbrook had jumped across with a running start and a crash into the gravely lower edge, displeased that her damp fur was picking up all sorts of muck and filth. Thistlegaze contemplated the jump. It was windy, since they were high in the mountains, and he wasn’t fully dry after a brief dip in the pool of water at the Moon Glade.

After a few more moments of thinking, Nettlespirit sighed and called out above the wind, “Get a move on, you fluffball, or else the thunderstorm will catch up to us!”

‘It’s now or never, I guess,’ he thought to himself, taking a deep breath as he prepared himself. He ran at the jump, but caught his foot on a rock jutting out just as he leapt. Panic flooded into him as he struggled to maintain his momentum. Front legs outstretched, he grasped the lower ledge, crashing into the rocky wall with a hard hit. His face took a majority of the hit, causing a headache to immediately form, and Thistlegaze winced as he felt a sharp pain across one of his back legs. Cottonbrook and Nettlespirit immediately jumped forwards, swiftly helping the tom up onto safe ground.

“You absolute mousebrain! Look where you’re going next time!” Cottonbrook exclaimed, shaking her head very briefly, though the concern for her friend was evident in her eyes. Nettlespirit remained silent, staring intently at the wound he now had on his face.

“Thank the Ancestors, you missed your eyes with that stumble. It’s not bleeding too much, but your charming face will have a scar.” The tortoiseshell healer quickly circled him and frowned as she looked at the injury on his leg. “This one you’ll need to keep an eye on. You must have hit a jagged rock pretty harshly… We need to get down quickly so I can find some cobwebs for them.”

Thistlegaze nodded, raising to his feet slowly with a deep breath. He winced as pain shot through his leg, and his head spun. Cottonbrook immediately hopped to his side, looking forwards with a neutral face as she provided support to her companion.

“Thanks, Cottonbrook,” Thistlegaze meowed gently, focussing on each step as they slowly walked forwards.

“Don’t sweat it, mousebrain.”

Name: Juncofall
Gender: Tom
Clan: BournClan
Age: 15 moons
Rank: Warrior

Prompt:
At the first streaks of dawn, the sound of roosters can be heard from the moorlands of BournClan territory. During the day, if one strays close enough and tilts their ears, they can hear the faint clucking of the chickens in the farmlands down the hill. The cats of BournClan ignore them, for they are guarded by dogs. However, one cat was foolish enough to try to catch one.

Juncofall was a newly appointed warrior of BournClan at the time. He often heard the crows of the roosters when he went on morning patrol, and more than once he spotted them over the hillside. His mouth watered at the sight, he was curious about them and intrigued by their potential flavor. One night, he couldn't fight his curiosity and ravenous hunger anymore. He slipped out of camp, out of the forest and through the moorlands. Crossing the river, he half slid and half climbed down the hill.

Opening his mouth, Juncofall followed the scent of the chickens. There was a large, hard cobweb-like material around them, but there was also the start of a hole near it. The stale scent of fox alerted him, but when he discovered it came from the hole, he assumed that the fox wanted to try the chickens, too. Digging at the hole, he made it large enough for him to slip through. The metal brushed his fur, but he wiggled under until he popped out the other side.

He approached the small Twoleg structure and peered inside spotting rows of chickens, fast asleep inside. Juncofall slipped inside and approached a brown hen. Raising his paw, he attacked. The hen awoke at the feeling of his claws and let out a cry of fear, flapping her wings as she tried to fight back. Her talons scratched Juncofall's face and he reeled back.

The hen's cries awoke the rest, causing a panic. Outside, he could hear dogs barking in response. Frightened, he darted out of the structure. His leg scraped a nail in the corner, but he didn't care. He dashed to the hole, slipped under, and ran to the hill as lights flicked on in the nearby nests. As he reached the river, the sounds faded, and he stopped to catch his breath before making his way to camp. In camp, he said he was injured by some branches. Due to his leg injury, he had to stay in the medicine cat den.

The next day, he saw Peatsplash bringing back a familiar brown bird. "Is that a chicken?" asked Mavis-star.
"It is. It wandered outside the farms, so I caught it," responded the warrior. "Juncofall wanted to try it before, so I thought it'd cheer him up." As Peatsplash brought it over to the injured warrior, Juncofall shook his head. "No thanks, I'm good." Peatsplash and Mavis-star shared a confused look, but they shrugged as the bird was added to the pile. Juncofall decided he'd had enough adventures involving chickens for a lifetime.

Prompt:
Riverpaw climbed up onto the edge of the twoleg river crossing, knowing all too well she was supposed to stay away. She was just a kit, a brand new apprentice who had managed to ditch her mentor somewhere in the woods on the way here. She was fascinated with the river and had longed to see what the other clan cats had been talking about when they told stories about it. She leaned closer and almost lost her balance, stepping backward to regain her balance. What she didn't notice was the thundering beast running towards her down the river crossing, until it was almost on top of her. She jumped out of it's way and right into the river. The river tossed her around, hitting her on the rocks as it carried her away. She managed to reach the surface and cried out for help before she was pulled back under by the current. She thought she would never escape the dangers of the water and then there was a splash near her. A cat grabbed her and yanked her to safety.

Riverpaw gasped for air as she shivered on the shore, knowing just who had rescued her. "Martenpelt, I am sorry that I didn't listen."

The warrior just looked at the apprentice and sighed, "You know better than that. The crossing and river are dangerous. Now where is your mentor?"

Riverpaw didn't look at the female and she sighed, "Ditched him again? Alright, well lets get you back to camp and get those wounds taken care of."

Martenpelt grabbed Riverpaw by the scruff and carried the young cat back to camp.

    Rank;; coast guard

    Prompt;;
Caii pinched his eyes shut as the sting of the rogues claw echoed across his maws, a white hot pain that he ignored. His gaze turned to his assailant eyes burning with the purest form of hatred he could manifest, yet he remained unmoved. He didn't move to attack, he couldn't when there was something far more precious to protect than the pelt he wore.

The silent shaking form of a small runt of a kitten was what he protected, standing over them, shielding them from the world's worst. He wasn't quite sure what had played out to bring him to this moment but as the cat threw insults at him try to goad him into reacting he simply stood his course. If this stranger wanted to harm this kit it would have to be after they pried the life from body, kicking and screaming.

He kept his breathing even, kept his mouth shut and his glare burning. Size was in his favour, as was training and pure stubbornness. He didn't have to fight to win this battle, he purely had to outlive the murderous thoughts of this stranger with a petty grudge against a child for reasons Caii couldn't ascertain.

They reached a stand still and the rogue gave him a wicked smile, the glint of a collar around their neck catching his eye and explaining somethings about their behaviour and lack of skill. Spoiled idiot. Then just as quickly as they had started their attack they left rather confident in their movement as they disappeared.

Caii looked down at the kit and nodded his head, he'd keep this one safe and help find them a home... [278/500]

Name: Shiverfern
Gender: she-cat
Clan: Brightclan
Age: 39 moons
Rank: warrior

Prompt:
Shiverfern was known for avoiding interaction with her clanmates. She wasn't particularly nice or mean. She just didn't seem to care. She never went out of her way to help anyone in Brightclan.

One day, the cats of Brightclan were relaxing in camp when small band of rogues invaded. They swarmed in, attacking the cats for seemingly no reason. Vervainstrike and Silverpeak were holding them off the best they could, but Polliwog, Skimmerwing, and Duststar were not experienced in battle and got pushed further and further back into the corner of the camp, rogues surrounding them.

Shiverfern had been out by herself, patrolling, and heard the sounds of battle as she approached camp. She peeked through the tunnel, her heart racing when she recognized the band of rogues she once ran with before she joined Brightclan. They must of followed her here after she quit! They were a particularly nasty bunch, known for killing forest animals for no reason and increased violence towards each other and other cats.

Shiverfern backed out of camp and climbed the old, large tree that overhung camp. It was difficult because of all the brambles and thorns the Brightclan cats had tangled around the tree trunk to keep intruders from invading exactly the way Shiverfern was now. She stifled a hiss of pain as thorn got caught in her pelt, wrapping around her left back leg. She tugged her leg out of the vine sharply, feeling part of her fur tug away. That would hurt for a while. But she could bear the pain.

Finally, Shiverfern reached the branch hanging over camp and poised herself. She watched as the rogues attacked her clanmates. One in particular was overtaking Duststar, despite Polliwog and Skimmerwing trying to assist him. Without thinking, Shiverfern leaped from the branch with a screech of anger, landing directly on top of the rogue that was attacking Duststar. She attacked the rogue furiously, who turned tail and left out of pure fright.

However, the biggest and meanest of the rogues was not in the least bit scared. He attacked Shiverfern with a scowl and a hiss.

"You traitor!" He yelled out as he scratched her face. Shiverfern hissed and attacked him with twice as much fury, the two entangling in claws and fur flying. He might have overtaken Shiverfern but the others jumped in to help and eventually, they managed to drive him off along with the other rogues. Shiverfern gained some permanent scars defending her clanmates but it was worth it and, from then on, her clanmates always knew how much she cared, even though she never showed it.

(All the cats used are Brightclan cats except the rogues, who are npcs)

Name: Smokebreeze
Gender: Tom / Male
Clan: Slateclan
Age: 17 moons
Rank: Warrior

Prompt:
Smokebreeze has always been a rambunctious and adventurous youngster. Thus, it's not very surprising he received those scars with his reckless nature and in his own foolishness. He's always up for a challenge and any possible chance to show off. Obviously, this was the case in the occurred incident.

It was a morning like any other, Smokebreeze roughhousing with the apprentices. His warrior ceremony only a couple of months ago thus still much an apprentice at heart himself. "Got ya pinned." He spoke with a grin as he pressed the younger cat down to the ground with a single, well-placed paw against the chest. The Apprentice wiggled beneath him before the warrior let go. With a huff, the small feline mewed, "Oh, sure! Yer oh so strong! Strong enough to pin down a mere Apprentice, that is. I bet you couldn't even handle yourself against a predator yet alone push it against the ground.". These words clearly intended as mockery, "Besides, you couldn't catch me once in a game of tag unless you were tricking me or being lucky. Pretty sure all you could do is run away with your tail tucked in between your legs like the coward you are!" He added scornfully. Smokebreeze released a growl which vibrated in the back of his throat, as he snapped back at the immature tom; "Pft, I'll show ya, all you can do is sit around in camp and argue with others, throwing petty words at 'em and having your hissy fits. I'll go out there and hunt a predator like prey, just wait and see, I'll bring 'em back!".

Unfortunately, the warrior let this get to him, so once the coast was clear, he snuck out alone to fulfill his plan. He padded towards the areas that were dotted with dangerous animals, places were one shouldn't necessarily go to or just in a group so each other could watch their backs. After a long while of aimlessly trotting about, he reached Lynx Grove. The thing he didn't know, was that another feline had already spotted and followed him for a bit since he arrived without him noticing. So, it was a pure surprise to him as a lynx came jumping out on him from behind thicket.

Smokebreeze couldn't avoid the attack in time and the creature's sharp claws ran across his face. Immediate pain shot through him as blood formed along the wound, trickling from it and running down. He let out a yowl at the suddenness of it all and batted at the large cat, barely landing a swipe. The tom turned around and tried escaping, however, the lynx wouldn't back down and followed suit. It leaped at the silver tabby, getting a hold of his leg shortly, grazing the skin before hissing as they received a set of claws against the head.

He raced off as fast as his paws could carry him, through the undergrowth and beyond. His wounds pounding and aching and only now he could embrace the fact that this has been an ultimately stupid idea. Smokebreeze had to admit his immense defeat. A patrol happened to stumble upon him, almost bumping into the tom. He was immediately brought to the medicine cat to be patch up and even the leader came to lecture him, everyone gazing at him in disbelieve how naive someone could be.
