Smoke had been on his daily walk, passing the quiet, nearby-empty Thunderpath as he always did, when he saw his own death.

The tom had paused to study a strange beetle, and, when he looked up, saw a ghostly duplicate of himself. The tom was shocked, with no idea to how to react. Instead, he froze, and watched at the cat trotted up to the edge of the Thunderpath. Ghost Smoke stopped at the edge of the Thunderpath, looked both ways, and then looked behind himself.

Ghost Smoke charged across the Thunderpath, and another wispy, ghost-like form appeared. This new piece of the vision was a monster, and it raced towards Ghost Smoke at an impossibly fast speed. Smoke yelled out a warning, but Ghost Smoke paid him no heed. The ghostly monster hit the ghost cat, sending him flying across the road. When Ghost Smoke landed, he was twisted in such a way that Smoke knew there was no way he survived.

The ghost images faded, and Smoke was left staring at the empty road in horror.

For moons after the vision, Smoke travelled as far away from the Thunderpath as he possibly could. He avoided other Thunderpaths at all costs as well, even going so far as to walk miles out of his way to find a tunnel underneath instead. Eventually, he arrived at PetalClan. Since there were no Thunderpaths anywhere near the Clan's territory, Smoke decided it was the perfect place for him to ensure his vision never came true. He joined PetalClan within only a few days, and was renamed Smokestreak.

Cat Name;; Mothwhisker
Gender;; Tom
Age;; 17 Moons
Clan;; Dogwood Clan
Rank;; Warrior

Prompt;;

Mothwhisker walked through the tall grass of the meadows, batting playfully at a frazzled strand now and again as he went along his way. The air was sweet with New Leaf, and the weather was cool enough to be pleasant if not just a bit nippy. Tail swishing and spirits high, the warrior felt that the day would be very good - very good indeed! It wasn't often he had a day to himself, after all, and he was going to make the most of it before Owlstar found another job for him to do.

As he walked, he couldn't help but notice that the once crisp air had started to grow heavier. Something seemed off, and even after spinning around to look, there didn't seem to be any danger - that was, until Mothwhisker turned back around and came face to face with the amber eyes of a very hungry fox.

"Mothwhisker," it purred, curling it's tail neatly around it's paws, "I come as a warning. I am going to eat you, one day. I will feast on you. Your clan will abandon you. I thought, however, that warning you ahead of time would insure that the following hunt is more exciting. It has been a terribly long time since I've eaten a cat," the fox's tongue darted across it's teeth, and it gave a playful grin; however, several cat voices sprung up, and the fox got to it's feet, ears pricked. A patrol must be headed this way, "It's time for me to go," it muttered, "Good luck," with a flick of it's tail, the fox was gone.

And, just as urgently, Mothwhisker was awake.

Breathing hard, and eyes wide, Mothwhisker shot up in his bed of soft grass, swiveling his head to make sure he hadn't woken anyone else up. Was this his true future? Did Starclan send a demon to warn him? They would never, but a warning was a warning, even if spoken by a demon. Creeping out into the cold night air, Mothwhisker found a spot to sit and looked around at the sleeping clan. They would never abandon him like that... right? Taking a second to reassure himself, he spoke aloud, "Only medicine cats and Owlstar get special dreams," he murmered, "Whatever I had was just a silly nightmare," Although terrified, Mothwhisker felt a peace wash over him. It was certainly not the true future - after all, the clan was all about community. Pushing his nest closer to a friend, he curled up tightly and drifted back to sleep, confident that his "future" vision had been wrong. All the same, however, he never went out too far by himself...

Cat Name;; Smokestrike
Gender;; Tom
Age;; 34 Moons
Clan;; Echoclan
Rank;; Warrior

Prompt;; Smoke started off as a loner, he walked along the path to the valley he had seen in his vision, the vision of his future, he foresaw himself travelling here and meeting the cat of his dreams, a black and white she-cat with dazzling green eyes. This was his future and he was going to make it happen. "Halt!" A voice hissed at him, he paused and looked around he yelped in surprise when he was tackled down and pinned, "What are you doing in our territory?" a grey tom hissed down at him. A black she-cat walked out softly glaring down at him, his eyes widened, she was black and white... but she wasn't the she-cat he was looking for. "Just... wandering..." Smoke hissed up at them, maybe it really was just a crazy dream. "Wonder elsewhere loner." The she-cat spoke bitterly to him. Silentclaw frowned, "Are you from a rival clan?" he asked, "Clan?" Smoke asked, "I'm not sure what that is..." he said. Silentclaw frowned and got off him, "Another loner... we should bring him to Echostar." Silentclaw said, Shadowstep frowned, "I don't trust him." She said, "Remember we need members." Silentclaw exclaimed to her, Shadowstep sighed and headed back, Smoke started to follow but Silentclaw hissed, "You stay here... we aren't going to show you into our camp unless the Leader approves." He said.

"Alright bring him here." Smoke said, Silentclaw mused and laughed he shook his head and waited, Echostar emerged from the bushes moments later. Echostar mused, "Hello, I am Echostar, leader of Echoclan." She said. Smoke blinked shocked his eyes widened, "It's you." he said gazing at her beautiful fur. Echostar blinked, "It's me?" She questioned curiously. "Your the cat from my dream." Smoke said. Echostar watched him curiously, she mused gently, "Is that so?" She asked with a gentle tone, she nodded her head, "Very well. Tell me about your dream." Echostar said, Smoke mused, "My dream was you and me... together. In this place." he said. "I would say you made it up, but it seems like Starclan has put you here for a reason." She said. "Starclan?" Smoke asked. "Our ancestors in the stars, they guide us." She said, "Uh-huh." Smoke said he didn't believe in that at all, it sounded crazy. Echostar mused, "A dream of a future you'd like to see... very well if you think you have a chance why not join my clan?" Echostar asked. "Seriously Echostar? He doesn't even have any knowledge of the clans." Shadowstep hissed pinning her ears back. Echostar flicked her tail, "Relax Shadowstep, we can teach him our ways, Starclan sent him for a reason, or it was really just coincidence." Echostar said, "Either way it would be a good idea to expand our clan." she added. Shadowstep lowered her head and stalked off.

"Forgive Shadowstep she doesn't trust others, you might get the same treatment from our medicine cat." Echostar said, "Silentclaw catch up to Shadowstep, I will escort um... I didn't actually get your name." She said to Smoke. Smoke mused, "You can call me Smoke." He purred puffing out his chest to try and impress her. Echostar mused, "I will escort Smoke back to camp." She said taking off softly, Smoke blinked surprised and chased her back to camp, he ended up falling in the river like a love struck kit. Smoke started to learn about the clan and it's lifestyle. He earned his warrior name Smokestrike within a few moons and started settling right into clan life. He is still trying his best to earn Echostar's affections but he's found it harder then he expected it be easy but the challenge makes it more fun. Smokestrike will do anything to make his vision of the beautiful she-cat come true. She was everything he wanted in a mate, she was strong but kind and calm, her carrying nature went well with his bold and flirtatious one. He will continue until he earns her heart and he is stubborn enough that he won't give up.

Cat Name;; Moontail
Gender;; male
Age;; 36 moons
Clan;; TideClan
Rank;; deputy

Prompt;;
His father thought he had a talent, his mother though a curse. How else could she explain how her brown-eyed kit always seemed to know when disaster would hit. First, he told them when he was about 5 moons that the world was going to shake. And it did. What he didn't see though was that a litter of kits would be swallowed by a crack this great rumbling created. Next, in his 7th moon, he saw storms with their great thunderous sounds and flashing light. After the first vision, the whole clan was in a panic. But what he didn't see was that storm's rain would unearth caves in the cliffside that would make a perfectly protected camp. And that's how it went every moon or so he would foresee the future but never the consequences; so how much help was he?

By the time Moontail left he was indifferent to it all. He was tired of bitting his tongue. If he spoke of the future no one would listen. if they did they would always ask if he knew more. He never did. He was almost relieved that he saw himself one night wandering alone atop a snow-covered hill red blood (of hopefully a fresh kill at his feet). He could smell his new clan around him. If I saw it, he thought It's going to happen anyway. No use fighting it.. This he decided was the prophecy he would control.

He didn't tell anyone he just would let them wonder like they always did. The trip was hard and the night cold. But who was he to tell the future late fall was the wrong time to send him out. He hadn't known where he was going besides a future time but does any cat truly know more?

He thanked starclan for every bit of fresh meat he could catch and every safe stream he found. The winter months mad him lean and the task made him strong of both body and soul. He began to worry as winter started to melt into spring. Would he live like this until the season came again, Hungry and Alone? And yet throughout his doubt, he soldier on. He hadn't seen another vision so this one wasn't fulfilled. He had met other welcoming clans along the way but they hadn't smelt right. They weren't his future clan.

His journey hadn't lasted one winter, it lasted two. He found them during worst blizzard seen in those hill since's their grandfather's grandfather was a kit. The blood in the snow wasn't his fresh kill. It was his. He had cut his paw on the river bank but That island called to his soul he had to go on. He needed it.
"Hello," he called out to the trees. He could smell his new family and see their eyes "My name is Moontail and I've been searching for you."

After that, the visions stopped.

Oh purlease. Honey, that was no dream. No dream could be as vivid as that. That was a vision.

'But I'm no prophetic cat!' He'd cry, waking up in the night. Every hair on his pelt was prickling with terror. And yet. His entire body swarmed with longing for what had been foretold. He felt surges of hope - and then fear.

It couldn't happen. But the dream kept on coming. He'd never had repeated dreams before- never. And this one was exactly like the others.

It was set in the water. Red water. And he was drowning. He'd flail, trying to claw his way to the surface. His nostrils flipped shut and mouth tightly closed, but he couldn't breath. If he was completely honest, he was surprised it wasn't different- his asthmatic tendencies usually would worsen a drowning experience.

Either way, he accepted he would die. That was a customary part of the dream. Although he knew he wouldn't survive, he still tried to escape. To see his brother one more time. And as his lungs choked for air that would never come, he'd open his mouth to cry out for help.

But the voice that echoed in his head wasn't his own. As he'd look at his paws he'd panic, seeing ginger fur rather than grey. And as he howled silently, water would surge into his mouth and only then did he realize it was blood. His blood. But not his blood - because he wasn't himself. And he'd float upwards, leaving the blood-water behind, to look down upon a weeping form. His true self.

The dream always ended like that. Looking down at a broken form of himself from his brother's spirit.

But when Rain awoke he'd always see the fluffy ginger form next to him safe and sound. He wasn't alone. His heart wasn't broken. And Sun hadn't drowned. Deep inside Rain worried it was a vision, a prophecy. He didn't let Sun out of his sight after the second time he dreamt it. And he'd do anything to prevent the lake of blood.

    Anything.

Little did he know that his resolution to prevent it would instead create it.

fennel fell asleep, the hard cement chilling his fur. He blinked his open again, almost as he had never slept at all. He was in a small shaded clearing, the warm sun catching in the trees and dappling the ground with color. Cats milled about happily, one of them was a pretty golden molly, another a small black tom.

“Hey!” Sounded a voice behind him, and fennel wheeled around to see a pretty molly staring at him.

“Oh... oh hello!” He meowed, staring into her beautiful blue eyes.

“Fennelthorn why are you looking at me like that?” She asked jokingly, nudging him with a giggle. He opened his mouth to speak when a small gray cat ran up to them. That kit’s eyes looked exactly like his!

“Mom! Dad!” He shouted, “Butterflypaw is being mean again!” Fennel’s heart warmed at the sight of him, he was so precious!

The molly next to him purred. “Smallpaw, we’ve been over this, just ignore her next time!” The small gray tom nodded, then nuzzled her. The molly licked his ears before Smallpaw turned to give his affections to Fennel.

The loner’s heart warmed as his kit nuzzled him. This must be the future! He realized with a jolt. I must do everything I can to make this happen, he vowed, also licking his son’s ears.

“I love you Smallpaw.” Fennel breathed with a small grin.

Prompt;; SwiftStar sat on a log by the river. She watched the peaceful fish swim as she scooped one up with her paw. She admired the fish's beautiful scales along it's back. They were a nice blue with a hint of bright white. Nevertheless, it was still prey. She took a bite into the fish, which drifted her off into a peaceful sleep. She saw a cat, sit beside her. Everyone looked so happy and calm. Then a small kit tugged on her back. At this moment she knew she was dreaming. She turned around to see a kit that looked just like her, but with different eyes. Then she saw the cat that was sitting by her had started to burst out laughing. The cat took the kit and put her down by his own paws. Then she saw some apprentices talking to one another. She felt happy herself. She suddenly woke up, she glanced at the burbling brook's noise. The fish had disappeared. She got up to her paws and thought to herself. That cat in her dream really looked like Spoondrift; A loner that lived by the clan's territory. She thought to herself Is that the future? Should i let Spoondrift join the clan...? She had to admit, he had been asking for the last moon. She walked over the log and saw Spoondrift sitting on a tree branch, half asleep, half awake. "Spoondrift, we need to talk" Swiftstar murmured . Spoondrift perked his ears up and jumped off the tree branch. He gave a long yawn. "Yes Swifty?" he said in a mused tone. Swiftstar rolled her eyes. "Don't call me that" she said as she nudged him playfully. "So you know how you wanted to join the clan...?" she said, trying to stay serious as she watched Spoondrift chase a butterfly. "Starclan this is gonna take a lot of work." she added to herself wistfully.

Prompt;;
Silverdust was only 8 moons when he first shared his dreams with Starclan. He walked through a bright forest to meet a large, starry furred tom. The tom looked at Silverdust with troubled eyes.

"What is this place?" Silverdust asked in confusion, a little scared of the tom standing over him.

"This is the forest of your ancestors." The tom's voice boomed. "And I have called you here for a very grave matter." Silverdust's ears laid back on his head as alarm coursed through him.

"Have I done something wrong?" He asked in a small voice. He had a feeling he didn't want to be on the bad side of his ancestors.

"Not yet." The tom answered shortly. "But only time will tell. You have a troubled fate." Silverdust found himself inching backward out of fright.

"How can I stop it?" He asked meekly. "I don't want to do anything bad." The starry tom before him seemed like he was starting to fade a little.

"Listen to this warning. If you take a mate, you will betray your comrades. You must not take a mate." The tom said as he faded more and more.

"What do you mean? How?" Silverdust asked, sputtering. It was too late. The starry tom was already gone.

Ever since that dream, Silverdust has avoided taking a mate with anyone, especially after joining Brightclan. He wasn't sure what would happen if he did, but he didn't want to betray any of his clanmates.

The hardest part of his resolution is that there is a she-cat he has grown especially close to. One that would make a fantastic mate and he really genuinely loved. Silverdust finds himself avoiding the she-cat more and more with each passing day because of his fear of her reciprocating his love. That could never happen. He even considers leaving Brightclan sometimes, just to increase the distance between them and protect his clan.

Clan;; Will join SunClan
Rank;; Rogue (will join as a warrior, then become medicine cat)

Prompt;; (498 words)
Smoke squinted against the sun as she walked. Grass whispered around her paws, and very distantly she could hear running water. Where was she? More importantly, where was her kit?

Smoke paused, trying to pick out any sign of him. She kept her eyes half-shut, however; it was too bright to open them fully.

She heard voices before she could scent cats.

More irritated than afraid, Smoke turned towards the voices to yowl, "Who's there?!"

The voices stopped.

Wind blew through the grassland, playing with Smoke's fur. Underneath the sounds of the whispering breeze, Smoke could hear pawsteps in the grass. She put on her favorite mean face and squinted at the bright horizon, waiting.

"Mom?"

That voice.... It was her son's! "Whisper?"

From the whiteness, her son emerged. The wind played with his fur, and he was looking down at her, concern wrinkling his features. This cat was much bigger than her Whisper, much older, but it was him. She knew. A mother always knew.

"Whisper, wh-"

"Out getting herbs, Mom? You should really take Sheepbounce with you!" Whisper meowed gently, pressing his nose to his mother's forehead.

"Sheepbounce? Who-"

"I know you don't like Sheepbounce, but she means a lot to me." Whisper mewed. "Just give her a chance, please?"

"Whisper don't
look at me like that - where are we?!" Smoke snapped. "Who even is Sheepbounce?"

Whisper looked down at Smoke, that same pitying look on his face. He sat down beside her, his tail on her paws.

"Ma, it's Whisper
flight now, remember? We're in SunClan, and Sheepbounce is one of our clanmates - my best friend. Do you remember?" He spoke slowly, but Smoke couldn't make any sense of it.

"Do you remember?"

Her vision grew whiter, the wind grew stronger. Desperately, Smoke turned to face her son, but she could barely make out his face. Smoke's mouth hung open, completely at a loss for words.

"You don't remember..."

The wind died suddenly. It was nighttime in the field now. But that voice... was not her son's. Instead, a white cat sat where her son had. Their fur was a bright white, but their eyes were
glowing.

"Because it hasn't happened yet!" The white cat chirped. Smoke could've sworn they were smiling.

"What?"

"Let me explain." The white cat rose to their paws. They took a few pawsteps forward, then turned to look at Smoke. "Walk with me."

What else could she do? Smoke rose to her paws and followed the stranger. As they walked, the white cat explained everything to Smoke. She'd join SunClan with her family, and she would be the first medicine cat.

"Because you're special." They had said. "Stay safe, Smoke."

Smoke woke with a jolt. She looked down at her son, still a kit, asleep at her stomach. She curled tighter around him. She didn't know what SunClan was, but he seemed happy when he talked about Sheepbounce. Smoke would find SunClan. For her son.
