Jessie found...a puppy...She was just walking along, thinking of maybe going to Jenga’s place this time, the kittens being watched by her humans, feeling safe in that knowledge. She perked her ears and lashed her tail at a sound, yelping and yipping, figuring some dog was loose...Or there was a local stray. She wasn’t fond of either idea...However, what she actually came upon was a Border collie puppy, typical black and white and all big brown eyes and paws he was still growing into. She lowered her head a moment, letting out a cat snort, then shook herself. Mewing, she managed to get the pup to follow her, leading him all the way home, her home. The humans brought him in, bathed him then took him to their vet, who allowed the occasional walk in. Later, they got some canned food and milk, as he was still pretty young, and fed him. Banner is now part of the family, kept by Jessie’s humans.

Writing: Featherbird was walking along searching for prey, she was glad that she could get free from Goldkit for at least a little bit. Featherbird stopped and sniffed the air, there was a rabbit! She crouched, waiting in the underbrush. She opened her mouth and looked around, there it was! Featherbird waited for just the right moment and then leapt onto the rabbit. She bit onto its neck and killed it quickly. She picked it up and buried it with the pigeon she had also caught. She hurried onwards, only stopping once in a while to sniff the air. Soon she came to the mountains, she decided to hunt up there.
Featherbird stopped, she sniffed the air. She stood up again - there was nothing there. She was nearly at the rock that stuck out of the mountain, the one she had climbed when she was an apprentice. Featherbird heaved herself up onto the rock and sat down, her tail curling over her cold paws. She looked around and sniffed the air. She looked down - there was something at the bottom of the mountain. Featherbird decided it was nothing, she turned and started to climb up the rest of the mountain. Then she heard something and pricked her ears. It was mewling, a kit mewling, she turned around and looked down again - the small thing was moving it looked like... like a kit! Featherbird didn't think it was a kit but she had to make sure... She charged down the mountain, her paws hitting the ground, thwack! They soon started to bleed but she still ran. Soon she got to the bottom of the mountain and she sniffed. She could smell blood and the blood wasn't hers, she sniffed again - there was also kit! Featherbird hurried towards the smell, she stopped when she saw a piece of cardboard stained with blood. She pushed over the cardboard and under it was a kit. She kit was very small and bloody and it smelt disgusting and ill. Featherbird wrinkled her nose but still picked up the kit. She ran back to her camp as fast as she could, the kit squirming and screaming as twigs hit them. Featherbird couldn't even smell if it was a boy or girl, she ran on and on. At last, she came back to camp. Goldkit ran up, but then she saw the kit and ran back to the nursery. Featherbird didn't notice all the cats looking at her and the kit, she burst into the medicine den and put the kit down.

Spiderpaw awoke when the rain stopped. It'd been pouring all night and Spiderpaw had barely managed to sleep. But strangely, it had suddenly stopped. She'd actually gotten used to it now, but no longer. To her great annoyance, all seemed to be still. Her whiskers twitched sleepily and she blinked at Sloepaw. The other apprentice was beginning to awaken as well, and Spiderpaw started to get to her paws.
The two she-cats brushed muzzles, and Spiderpaw's eyes flicked around the den. Foampaw had slept in the medicine den for her hearing treatment, but the rest of their denmates were snoozing peacefully. Spiderpaw met Sloepaw's eyes, grinning mischeviously. She led the pointed cat out of the den, head hold high and pawsteps light.
They slipped past Vinecry, who was guarding the camp, and Spiderpaw scurried out into the forest. Spiderpaw's ears pricked happily, everything was much more of a bustle here. She could hear birds twittering, although it was barely dawn, and glimpsed a squirrel or two. The spotted tabby also spotted something else - sparkling?
'C'mon Sloepaw!' Spiderpaw whispered, dragging her friend over to the object. It was strangely clear, but had some kind of.. tree? inside. She put out a paw to touch it and found it dripping with rainwater and cold on her paw pad. 'What is it?' Spiderpaw wondered. Prodding it harder; it shivered and seemed to explode with.. snow?
'StarClan knows,' Sloepaw shrugged, tilting her head. 'Maybe we should hide it, it might be dangerous.'
'Yeah - it seems like ice, if it breaks it might be sharp.' Spiderpaw padded to the edge and started digging with her wide-set front paws, and uncovered a caved in rabbit hole. She gestured to Sloepaw and the object was rolled over to her. She knocked it into the hole and scraped dirt on top. 'There,' Spiderpaw yawned. 'Let's go back home now.'
The two of them returned to camp and curled up together, dreaming of snow like inside the strange object. Spiderpaw, finally sleeping as the rain began again, knew she would never forget that peculiar night with Sloepaw. What a beautiful experience it'd been.
