Spring/Easter Event - Writing Prompts - Closed

While you are out searching for flowers for Chloe, you hear a voice complaining... about pencils?

"Why are these pencil things so impossible to use? It's like they were made for humans!"
You look around, and notice a green-and-white cat covered in blankets nearby.
You walk over and sit down in front of the cat, then ask her what's wrong.
"It's these gosh darn pencils! I've been trying to write something all day, but I can't figure out how to use these pencils!"
The cat pauses for a moment, as if lost in thought.
"I've got an idea! What if you wrote for me? Your thumbs would be perfect for holding these pencils!"
You politely refuse, saying that you need to collect more flowers for Chloe.
"Flowers? I've got tons of those back home! Tell you what. If you do some writing for me, I'll give you some of my flowers!"
It would be nice to take a break from walking around aimlessly... You agree to the cat's deal, and she grins happily.
"Thank you so much! Alright, here's the first prompt..."

Sage wrote:Thank you so much for agreeing to help me! Here's how this'll work...
Every day, I'll give you a new writing prompt. All you have to do is write a response in at least 50 words.
Every 50 words will earn you 1-3 flowers, depending on what the random number generator rolls.
Please don't write more than 1,000 words. That's just... too much.
If you don't have a cat of your own to use in your response, you're welcome to write a creative story about me.
If you write about me (Sage), my pronouns are she/her, and here is a picture of me.

Every week, I'll give you a new weekly prompt. To enter, just respond to the prompt in 500 or less words.
At the end of the week, I'll choose my favorite response to the prompt, and you'll win 20 flowers and a random cat!"

Sage wrote:I know no one likes rules, so I'll keep this very brief.

If I find that you're copying someone else's writing, I won't give you flowers anymore.
Please make your grammar/spelling understandable.
You may post WIP forms, but please make sure you finish before rollover.
Have fun!

Writing: Jessie, a ginger she cat with high white, reacts with happiness, though she doesn’t like bees...or buzzing insects of any kind. They are quite annoying. That’s beside the point! She feels joy as she knows most baby animals are born in spring, and she likes babies quite a bit. She also likes lying in patches of sun, but will go in the shade if she gets too hot. Her humans do a lot more with her, as well, and Jenga is more playful with her. She loves that, so much. It’s not snowy and cold, which is a plus in her eyes, as much as she likes going under blankets.

    Writing:
Spring. That terrifying, terrifying word. When kits start being born. When baby birds start hatching. When the whole word is buzzing with newborn activity. You might have guessed, Applepaw hates spring. Everything is so green, and it starts getting easier for him to just blend in. Not being a shy cat, but unfortunately never getting noticed anyway, this irritates him no end. But worst of all is the new babies. Applepaw is simply terrified of kits and other small or baby animals. He was once attacked by some vicious parent foxes when he wandered over to see the cubs and since then has ended up with this phobia. The only thing he likes about spring is the rain. Rain is very calming to him, especially as the kits aren't usually allowed out of the nursery, and he can steer clear of Whitekit - who actually seems to like the rain as well.

Sometimes when it rains he lets himself go and ends up going 'swimming' in the tidepools. He spends 90 percent of his time outside during spring, as he likes to spend time in the more cave-riddled area of the cliffs, where it's less green. He also gets hayfever, which is yet another reason spring is the worst. Seriously, the camp is full of flowers and so is half their territory! Applepaw can barely leave the medicine den, he's so snuffly. Still he drags himself away from camp to be away from the flowers.

One other thing he dislikes about spring: the snow is gone. Snow, which often gathers around the base of the mountains, is one of Applepaw's favourite thing. It always saddens him when it begins to melt, and by springtime it's all gone. This just makes him hate the season more, as he used to be able to go and sit alone in the chilly area by the mountains. It's his favourite thinking spot and now he has to visit his Seaweedy Hollow instead. Plus, the snow was near the border, so every now and then he'd catch a glimpse of a patrol. But now it's too flowery and open for him to go there.

”Spring?! How is it already spring!? Oh my gosh, I have so much to do.”
Taffy says as she’s sprinting around the house. Throwing up Easter decorations and gathering whatever
money she’s got. “I HAVE TO GO GET FLOWERS” She hell’s and sprints out the door to the little flower shop down the street from her house.
Next thing you know she’s digging up dirt and planting all sorts of flowers. Two Rose Bush’s, hydrangeas, daisies, sunflowers. And even marigolds and orchids. “Why didn’t anyone tell me this sooner.” Taffy has a sad look on her face but continues doing her spring work. “Now time to go do some spring cleaning, please leave now. You’re welcome back when I’m done though, of course.” She smiles and closes the door behind her.

Writing: The black and white cat didn’t expect it to be raining...He’d gone out that day intent on seeing Jessie, his bond and mate, whom lived just down the street. Now, Jenga was caught in the rain, and his white-marked raven coat was soaked. He huffed as he shook himself to no avail, not even sure why he tried in the first place. Letting out a kitty huff, he began to run now, going to the she cat’s house anyway. He jumped the frontal fence and landed up on it, jumping to the ground and running to the porch. Luckily, it was covered by an overhang, thus he shook himself and sat, purring now as he licked at himself. His ears twitched when the door opened and one human picked him up, Jessie mewing as she looked up at him. He purred as they got a towel and dried him off, then he was set free to interact with Jessie. Hey, the rain hadn’t been so bad afterall.
