it's an uncommon trait for pillowtails to have scleras at all ♥

1 has the standard pupil and iris
2 has a sclera and iris (i should add pupil edit though)
it's because pillwotails are "puma like" and cats don't have scleras

I always thought it was white as the normal sclera as until you, as I had never seen any pillowtail artists label the more commonly seen white ones as edited. Also, cats do have scelera, although they normally aren’t visible.

Hm, I guess I could check with heart if you’d like?
it just says “sclera” is uncommon and the base has a layer called “eyes nose and ears” and it’s more difficult to have a sclera iris and pupil so I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be colored.
When I first joined people didn’t usually have edits listed so i guess I just assumed and never got any proof.
I’ll check with heart though.
