due to the length of this kalon's inner ear hair, it's very hard of hearing. tell me how this disability effects them, and how they use it to their advantage.

how being deaf effects them. Thai’s mother is an empress, her father a master of Kung Fu. When she was younger, her parents wondered if she’d decide to take the throne after her mother’s passing, however she showed much more interest in her father’s dojo. Wip~~~

Athena, being deaf, lives quite differently than those who can hear as you would imagine. It can be quite irritating to live without sound. There are many scenarios Athena has been through that have been far from pleasant due to her deafness.

A few examples of these scenarios are being left out of conversations, people trying to talk normally to her and not understanding she can't hear, having to rely on only her surroundings to understand what's going on, and many others. One scenario that is more annoying than awkward is when a video she is watching has no subtitles or subtitles with many grammar mistakes. This makes the video extremely confusing, so she is somewhat limited to what she is able to watch in her free time.

A memory that had always stuck out to Athena that had to do with herself being deaf was when she was in elementary school. Athena's classroom was for kids who had a disability that affected their ability to learn in a large group. There weren't many students, 5 or 6 at the most some years. Some were deaf, like her. Others were blind or had some other kind of disability. The school was having a field day, where all of the students would play games outside all day.

Of course, the school wanted to include everyone, so Athena's class joined a normal class for the day. The first activity was a race around the playground, which wasn't a long race since the playground was so small. All of the students had to participate in it. When the teachers were counting down, Athena didn't realize the race was about to start. It wasn't until everyone else had started running she realized she had to run, too. After the race was over, some of the students from the other class would cast her strange looks and stares. Athena wanted to tell them she was deaf and it wasn't her fault, but they wouldn't have been able to understand sign language.

The other activities went much like the race, with it all ending in strange behavior towards her from the students in the other class. Athena hated field day without a doubt, with others in her class agreeing with her. Athena's teacher realized this, and the following day they got to have their own field day just for them.

Even though there are many challenges that come with being deaf, Athena has found a way to adapt and live a pretty normal life. [418 words]
