What do they have to be afraid of? :
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Julia is no longer alive. She's nothing but an entity floating around aimlessly. In fact, she's been
dead for a while now; 118 years to be exact. She often feels lonely because nobody really sees her, or
even knows that she's there.
Though I should caution you, Julia's death was no accident. She had been poisoned, by her ex-lover.
He laced her drink with the juice of a black berry, known as nightshade. That fateful night, the two had gotten into an extremely heated argument, sending her boyfriend off the edge, and into insanity.
"What is wrong with you? Why can't you just let me be with my friends for just one night?", Julia shrieked. Tears began to glaze her eyes over and she began to choke on her tears. She continued to glare at him, waiting for an answer. He kept silent. "Say something, coward!", she continued. Big mistake. Once he heard what she had called him, he stormed off, out of the hotel room. Julia sunk into the bed, overwhelmed by hurt, sadness and tears. "Is it a bloody crime to want to see your friends?", she said, in between sobs.
About an hour or so later, Julia awoke to footsteps coming through the door. It was him again. He came back. Pulling her close to him, he held her gingerly in his arms, stroking her hair and whispering an apology into her ear. She held tightly onto him, afraid of letting go.
"Let's grab a drink." Julia smiled at him, wiping away her tears.
"Hm, this tastes- strange", she remarked, after a sip.
"Trust me, it won't last."
Julia then saw the scene, from a different part of the room, she saw her lifeless body on the ground and her boyfriend call the police before tampering with the evidence, in a most strategic manner. She had been betrayed. No matter how loud she screamed for him to stop, or for him to listen, he didn't. When the police arrived, she didn't stop, they had to know what he had done.
"They're... ignoring me."
"Or maybe, they just can't hear me, or see me. I'm invisible, like he said I would be, if I wouldn't behave."
"This is my fault."
Now that Julia is dead, she can only watch the world as it goes by, trapped in the prison that is the spirit realm. She couldn't avenge herself, nor could she find closure. She was lost, to wander aimlessly in the abyss.
As those she knew began to fade and die, she began to realise that soon there would be nobody left alive who ever knew her or remembered her. She would be forgotten forever. The thought never occured to her while she had been alive, but now it had become her worst fear.
She's a tortured soul, stuck between two worlds.
How tragic, isn't it? She only believes she has one hope left; if she could just try and communicate with someone, maybe they could help her.
