Name: Nailah
Personality:
A curious nature combined with a love of learning; Nailah comes off as the walking-encyclopedia type (with a healthy mix of thesaurus and dictionary elements as well). She's ultra concerned with being correct in everything, politically and otherwise, and easily comes off as obnoxious because she will not hesitate to jump in and correct people, whether they're talking about last night's dinner or the tragic demise of Shakespeare's protagonists. (Which is a cause very, very close to her heart.) She has a tendency to use really long words just because she likes the sound of them, and if you ask her for help- well, be prepared for her to explain it down to every. Last. Detail.
Of course, she wouldn't be able to survive without her absolute social incompetency; she's oblivious to insults and subtle cues. Mostly because she doesn't actually care what others think about her- and also doesn't realise that she can sometimes be quite hurtful to others. It's a nice bubble she lives in. She thinks of herself as mature, but really, she has no idea how the world works. Also emotions, what are those.
She enjoys setting herself high goals that she never actually manages to meet because she's really easily distracted (but she's still top of the class??). In short she's a hard person to get along with, but her (few) friends love her anyway.
Hobby:
Nailah is in no way dedicated or focused enough to work at one hobby for a extended period of time; her attention span is very unpredictable. Books would probably be the thing she's stuck with for the longest (She's not sure if that counts, but oh well.) They are, in her opinion, a wonderful way to understand and grow and learn about, well, anything. She is in no way a fast reader, or a consistent one- once she starts a book she wants to understand everything contained in the text. 4am Wikipedia hunts are where she feels most at home.
But alas! she hasn't actually finished many books - she'll go off on a tangent and spot another interesting read, and then another one, and now she's got a stack of unfinished novels sitting next to her bed. (It's hard when you want to know everything.) She only has a few chapters to go for most of them, though, and reasons she already knows what's going to happen. But she'll finish them one day. Promise.
