haven't made a kiuii in a little over a week, so heres a two-tailed, unicorn horn bab! i'm really happy with them!

how did they get two tails/lizard tails/unicorn horn?:

Sandy always had his head in the clouds, and was prone to wandering off and getting himself into sticky situations. One day he was out collecting his favourite berries when he spotted a beautiful, neon purple butterfly! He was intrigued by it, and followed it as it fluttered off deeper into the forest. Sparkly violet goop dripped from its wings, making him all the more curious. He didn't watch where he was walking, and so when he felt his paws touch cold liquid, he assumed he'd stumbled into a river. He looked down, and found himself in a puddle of what looked like the same stuff that was covering the butterfly! He jumped out quickly, but he could already feel the obvious magic in the potion prickling up his legs. He felt it reach his body, and a strange tingling sensation began in his tail. He turned around, and was shocked to watch his tail splitting in two, like a cell multiplying, and become long and scaly. He began to notice a shadow growing over his eyes, and crossed them to see a horn protruding out of his forehead!

When the mutating stopped, he looked around himself. He noticed splatters of the purple goo all over the clearing he was in, as if some kind of explosion had occurred — maybe a witch's spell gone wrong? Sandy started to tremble, suddenly feeling very alone. He knew he was no longer a normal Kiuii.

Twist's look came from a scientific mishap, and by scientific mishap: It's by accidentally getting exposed to a chemical mixture in their lab. They used to work in a top-secret facility, to create new cures and diseases for the government. Twist was the top scientist, and was the lead scientist when it came to making new mixtures. Unfortunately, they got themselves exposed to an unknown chemical mixture, when they dropped the vial of a freshly made mixture.

They left with "Honorary discharge" from the government due to THAT mistake, but it wasn't until many years of testing and under medical care. The effects were deemed "Permanent", but now they live a easy-going life out in the country, where they make a living off publishing si-fi/horror literature. Despite what they went through, they always saw the lighter side of every situation.
