Betrayed? You could call it that. It felt like that. The lake... had always been her friend. Skating whenever it froze, swimming when it didn’t. She loved it. But it swallowed him. Berle. Her brother. Her best friend, her constant playmate. They had always been together, skating or swimming. But one day, he must have misjudged the current. The lake pulled him down. Forever.
