Village Lore:-Twyla lives in a small village in the valley. It's a tight nit community so everyone knows everyone and Pillowtail kits are often raised by the whole village. With a small population, it's not hard to do. Kits belong to their parents of course, but everyone puts time into babysitting, teaching and making sure that the kits are happy. And basically they fall asleep wherever they land when it's night time so it's not uncommon for the kits to stay with someone else from the village. By the time kits are grown up, everyone has gotten to know them. Because of this, everyone knows of Twyla's forgetful nature, so she's easily forgiven.
-Twyla's village, as well as any of the villages that aren't too far away, have a tradition of allowing their young PTs to basically switch lives and get to see what it's like in a different culture. During this time there are strong laws against harming others, although everyone is usually pretty peaceful.
-Twyla spends many of her days in the meadow. She's sort of a florist, but she also collects/makes cute little jewelry, charms, dream catchers, painted feathers and decorations for the village. It's not like a set job with strict hours and having to stand in a shop everyday. It's more like a hobby. Most PTs in the village are required to do something similar~ a hobby or whatever. They don't exactly have a set structure for normal villagers. However, there are a few higher positions that they have to have covered (*set teachers, village representatives/ambassadors, healers, a leader, guards, farmers, etc.) *everyone teaches the kits about life and stuff but they have to have teachers for
basic knowledge stuff*
-Village elders say that they're protected by a magical border, but that's not true, or at least not anymore. It's mostly just that they're excluded from others. Anyway, they have guards standing there 24/7 so the village doesn't hear of any bad things happening.
First names are picked by the parents of a kit, but as they grow older they can change/add more to their name (basically last and middle names) as long as it's a legit request.
-They have a strong respect for nature!
-At the end of the year, they have a ceremony for the Pillowtails in the community who are now of age. This ceremony begins with them recognizing these Pillowtails. The Pillowtail usually announces if they want to add onto or change their name. They also announce if they want to take on a position of power, do a hobby or, the more rare choice, leave the village to either become a nomad or join a different one. After this, there is a feast and these young Pillowtails spend some time with their family. Since they're all around the same age that means they've probably grown up around each other, so after the feast the young adult PT's have a few days of bonding time in a cabin. This is the last time they'll all be together before they have to split ways so it's just a time of fun and peace. While this is happening, there are celebrations, music, dancing, etc. On the last day, the village sends off any PT's that are leaving. They go back to their family and start planning out their future, building their own houses and things like that.
