Oh my heart,

My wishes taken flight,
The fun far flung.

My life flashes,
Past my eyes like leaves.
On the branches they fly;
Goodbye evenings breeze

My life cut short
The branch couldn’t hold weight
Crumpled on the ground
I cry out- it’s far too late.

My body aches,
My legs all splayed out.
My mentor comes,
His face filled with doubt.

In the end,
The world fades black.
