Welcome to Rise!
Rise is an adoptable based on Warrior Cats and focused around world building and character development.
Please make sure that you read the main thread so that you understand limits and levels!

Write about a scar that they got! Describe so I can add it to the cat when you win! You are limited to a single scar or small grouping of tiny scars (i.e a slash by the eye, missing bit of ear, three small claw marks together on their flank...) You have a max of 1000 words and can add extras, but judging will focus on the story.

Scar...

Flying claws,
cat fur, black fur.
Black and white beasts.

Leap in, time to fight,
kill, claw,
blood to draw.

Screams of dying,
cats and monsters,
friends and foe.

It's not my time to go!
Survive, live on,
live on to see a new dawn

One mark from the battle,
across my cheek,
claws of badger hurt my face.

I will stand strong,
I will not cry,
anyone who calls me weak is wrong

And I will live on...

[tried a different kind of writing... hope it's okay!]

age: 5 moons
gender: Female
rank: apprentice
clan thread: Songclan
prompt:
(Darkclan, Gladeclan, Darkstar, and Hawkclaw were all made up for the story)

1000/1000 words
Young cats, bursting with pride, melting with nerves, sat with straight backs while their leader prowled around them.

He stopped in front of a young female, her pelt like flame and smoke, her eyes smouldering red gems, her smile infectious.
"Lilykit, no longer shall you be known by this name, now you are Lilypaw, apprenticed to Hawkclaw."

She wiggled excitedly, glancing towards the old black-and-brown tabby warrior, who smiled faintly back at her.

Soon as the leader stepped back and declared the ceremony over, the bunch of newly-made apprentices scattered to their mentors.

Hawkclaw waited, the faint smile lingering as Lilypaw bounded over to him.

"So, where do we start?" She chirped, the tip of her tail betraying her excitement.

"The borders," he replied, his voice a deep gentle rumble "You must learn them so you do not wander past them accidentally."

"Okay," she trotted at his side as he turned and began making his way towards the woods "What about after that? Can we go hunting?"

He laughed softly "You are going to spend the next four days learning the borders, Lilypaw, after that, I will decide what to teach you."

"Okay," there was a noticeable lapse in her excitement and for a moment there was silence as they slipped further away from the camp than Lilypaw had ever been.

But keeping Lilypaw quiet was like trying to stuff up a stream with dry grass and soon conversation come bubbling out again, filling the air until they came to the forest's edge.
Then she stopped short as she saw the great empty expanse of sky and grass thst extended to the horizon.
Hawkclaw waited patiently for her to overcome her awe. He'd seen many apprentices, born beneath the trees, stop and stare as the full empty sky rwached down to touch them for the first time.
"It's beautiful," She breathed, her ears pinned back and her eyes wide.

"It's also dangerous. Hawks hunt out here, snakes live in the grass and..." his voice trailed away as he squinted into the distance.

"And what?"
Lilypaw turned to follow her mentor's gaze and her eyes widened.

"Rouges," he said darkly, as the distant figures came slinking through the grass towards them.

As soon as Hawkclaw reported the incoming strangers, all kits and queens were restricted to the nursery dens, all apprentices were ordered to stay within camp, and all warriors were on high alert, patrolling the borders ceaslessly in order to drive off the rouges.

Lilypaw remebered the horror stories told by the elders of rouges snatching kits and young apprentices and forcing them to be slaves, hunt for them, groom them, bury their waste. She felt no inclination to wander from camp.

Three days after the initial sighting, the panic began to wear off, and it was decided that training would resume the next day.

Lilypaw slept away from the other apprentices that night, at the camp's edge, staring up at the stars, trying to recapture that sense of wonder she'd felt standing beneath the open sky.

But she didn't dream of stars or the sky, instead she imagined a great stone ripping through the trees to land on her head, then thorns hooked into her leg and began dragging her through empty fields.

When she began to wake she realized that the pain in her head and the scratches from the thorns still hurt.

"Hey, it's coming around," a rough unfamiliar voice said from beyond the haze
"You're luckyDarkstar would be displeased if all we came back with was a dead apprentice," another voice said "Now get it up, they'll be coming after us soon."

Lilypaw felt a rough nose shove against her shoulder.
"On your feet rat."

Dizzy, confused, she staggered to her feet, moaning with pain.
Blearily she stared at the two strange toms, who had hard eyes and many scars.

She'd been kidnapped.

Whimpering fearfully she tucked herself into a ball, digging her feet into the ground.

"Oh shut up," growled the first "That's no way for a future warrior of Darkclan to behave."

"I'm part of Gladeclan, she squeaked.
"Not anymore, you've been adopted into Darkclan where you will serve our leader, Darkstar," the second one droned, as if he'd said it many times before and didn't believe any of it.

Lilypaw felt her chest tighten with terror and before she realized what was happening, her own legs were carrying her away, throwing her headlong through the tall grass.
There was no sound from behind and she thought she'd escaped. Then a massive weight pinned her down and agony ripped through her ankle.
"That'll teach you to run rat," the tom growled, holding her down as she sobbed "now come on."
Twice he forced her to stand, but she collapsed, the injured paw unable to support her.

Finally he took her by the nape of her neck and began dragging her.
She could recall little of what happened next.
Hours (days?) of being dragged, a stop to eat, then more dragging, pain, in her head, her foot.
She wanted to go home, she wanted her mother, her siblings, but they weren't there, only the cruel warriors.

It was dark.
She blinked, her head and foot didn't hurt as much.
looking around, she realized the toms were asleep on either side of her.

"Lilypawwake up!" A voice breathed, "Come here!"
Hawkclaw!

Gingerly she extracted herself and slipped away.

"Come, quickly," he whispered and she followed him, despite her aching foot.

Days later, drenched from a sudden rain, an unfamiliar line of trees sprang up before them.

UnquestioninglyLilypaw followed Hawkclaw into the forest.

Only a few minutes and they were confronted by a lage white cat.
Lilypaw flinched, but didnt have enough energy to be afraid.

The stranger and Hawkclaw spoke together, then he nodded and followed her.

Lilypaw didn't ask where they were going, but she found herself somewhere dry and she curled up.

"Welcome to Songclan," was the last thing she heard before falling asleep.

She is one of the few survivors of the infection. The scar is right were her throat is and she was lucky because Birchstar got to her just in time so that she wouldn't bleed to death. It was also leaf-bare so it was very cold.
I did a headshot of what her scar looked like before and now:

    prompt:
A sickly sweet feeling on tranquility flooded the small she-cats body. It was the first day of her journey alone in the great big world, as she just reached the age of 8 moons and her mother and father finally let her go. The muddy, grassy ground felt abnormal under her paw pads. The air she breathed felt like claws opening her lungs. Everything began to feel different to her, despite the world not changing at all in the time that passed. That didn't change the fact the world felt like a new planet to her. A world filled with uncertainty and thoughtless decisions she was going to be forced to make. A planet Maple wasn't sure what to do it.
Her first motive was to catch prey. She wouldn't last long without a steady grasp on the art of hunting, so she scented the marshy floor for a possible lead on a water vole or anything edible. Obviously nothing was scented, as any scents were washed before they were even placed. She decided she needed to move out of the marsh. The place she grew up in. Her childhood home. She knew it was a decision she had to make if she wanted to survive, she didn't know how to hunt in the marsh unlike her parents, so she set sail to a different terrain.

Her paws throbbed as she continued to walk. Famine and sleep deprivation caused her pace to slow significantly as she continued to wander. She had no idea where she was, where she planned to stay, nor where her parents where. The gloom atmosphere caused the lonesome she-cat to long for her parents again like a lost kit in the night, but she had no idea where to find them again, and if they'd accept her back into the family, so she continued on into her quest. The mid-day sky was covered by traditional leaves from trees in the surrounding area, figures she just realized where there. Her growing anxiety ceased a little, but the pit of loneliness remained. The question of when she'd reach a place to stay clogged the room left for different thoughts.

A rustle in a nearby bush caught hold of her hearing. A sound that saved her from complete hopelessness. As she looked around, the fact that the terrain was very different finally dawned on Maple. She was very far from home, which made her homesick, but she quickly shook off the feeling. Her ears and eyes moved in all directions they could, but no sight of the bush. Maple sighed, and began to fall back into her previous pace. The shaking came again. This time she jumped into the nearest bush, the only bush the shaking could come from. She immediately regretted her decision.

Nothing was there, so she began climbing out. In the process, her tail caught on something sharp, and painful. Maple's head bent down to see whatever clamped onto the she-cat's tail. A large, silver, spiky trap was closed tightly onto her tail. The pain became extremely sharp. Her scarlet blood oozed onto the trap. She screamed. She attempted to pull her tail out of the trap, but it proved to be useless and only made her tail bleed and hurt more. Maple continued to scream, but her caterwaul proved to be useless, as she soon passed out with no figures in sight

Two figures appeared to be pulling the barely conscious she-cat. A tired, older tom and a peppy, young she-cat. "Wh-Where am I? WHO ARE YOU?" Maple's fur stood on edge, and she fought to be freed from the two's grasp. Her attempts proved to be useless. "We're two cats from the clan Two-Islandclan. It's a rather small and mostly desolate clan, but we still like it!" the she-cat responded. "Our names are Hoodoostar and Duckbelly," the tom added. "I'm Hoodoostar, by the way (thankfully)." "What happened to me?" Maple quickly asked. She had seem her tail oozing blood before she passed out, but the odd angle she was in, with Hoodoostar holding her scruff and Duckbelly holding her haunch, preventing her from seeing the damage. "The bear trap was closed on your tail, but we managed to get it out without any need of amputation! It'll definitely scar up, though, but at least you'll have a cool explanation on how it happened!" the peppy she-cat responded once again. "You'll need to stay with us until it fully heals. We don't want you to open it up and bleed to death," the tom responded.
    "Alright."

    name: brightpaw
    age: 9 moons
    gender: female
    rank: apprentice
    clan thread: galeclan
    prompt: [ 716/1000 ]
"But Coldstar you-" Thunderpaw began to whine, cut short by a sharp glare from the tom. Brightpaw was sure she'd been about to complain about being partnered with her for the afternoon's spar, and rolled her eyes at the thought. Sure, neither cat liked each other, but was there really a point in complaining? Might as well just suck it up and get it over with. Brightpaw could feel Thunderpaw's glare boring into her fur, scorching like the green-leaf sun as the group made their way to the river crossing that lead to the grassy island apprentices typically trained on, merely ignoring the younger cat. She could tell it bothered her, anyway. A tiny victory, but a victory nonetheless.

Once their paws stepped off the log crossing and touched the soft grasses of the isle, the sparring began, as had been the plan. The two she-cats had the entire island to battle and try to reach a decisive victor, any means necessary. They were pretty evenly matched - similarly sized, more flexible than strong, it would most likely become a battle of wits and strategy over strength and brawn. For now, though, both cats went their opposite ways in the tail grass in an effort to surprise their opponent.

Brightpaw didn't go very far, just out of sight of Coldstar. She could, in fact, still see Thunderpaw as she crawled and moved to slink after her. As she crossed before the stoic leader, she cast him a quietly confident glance, though his own expression stayed unreadable even after Brightpaw vanished once more into the foliage. She gained ground on her quarry quickly, pausing when Thunderpaw paused and mirroring her movements until they came to an edge of the island where the grass gave way to a muddy river bank. The scenario couldn't be more perfect; Brightpaw was upwind, the rushing water below them masked any accidental noise, and she still had the advantage of surprise. Time to make a move...

Brightpaw knew better to unsheathe her claws as she pounced; she didn't like Thunderpaw but she wasn't about to harm a clanmate over some petty rivalry. She landed square on Thunderpaw's back, knocking her to the side and jumping away before the other she-cat could retaliate. Thunderpaw yowled in shock, whirling and losing her footing for a moment though she was right back up just as quickly. The two circled until Brightpaw's back was to the river when Thunderpaw advanced, lashing out with her claws and causing Brightpaw to rear up onto her back legs to try and avoid catching a face full of thorn-sharp claws. Instead, the hit landed to her shoulder as she raised herself, scoring down her shoulder and chest. She tried to turn away, losing her footing and tumbling backwards over the edge to try and escape the pain blossoming over her chest. Bone-chilling cold shocked the breath out of her as she splashed into the rapid river, only barely recognizing the surprised gasp from Thunderpaw before water closed over her head and she was swept downward towards the crossing.

Teeth closed around her scruff and Brightpaw's head broke the surface of the water. She gasped in greedy breaths, the air sweet in her burning lungs. She was... stunned to see Thunderpaw next to her, face set in determination as the two struggled to the bank. Brightpaw caught one of the roots of the crossing log between her teeth and used it to pull them up onto the muddy slope where a panicked Coldstar was waiting to haul them to safety. Furious words spat between his teeth, but the apprentices could only stare at one another and struggled for breath.

"I'm... I'm sorry, Brightpaw. I'm so sorry." Thunderpaw gasped, shaking legs finally giving out so that she collapsed, Brightpaw following soon after.

"It's okay... It's okay." Brightpaw panted, and the two lay against each other in the warmth of the sun as Coldstar worried over them. Once back at camp, the both of them spent nearly three suns with Dovewhisper. Despite the tom's care, Brightpaw's wound still scarred over, a permanent reminder of the day. ( almost like a half circle that goes around her visible leg. starts at top of shoulder, follows chest down behind leg, only just pokes out from behind leg )
