[ Favorite Classic Book :
------My favorite classic book - or really play in this case - is probably The Crucible by Arthur Miller, though Lord of the Flies is definitely up there too. The Crucible is a dramatized retelling of the Salem Witch Trials and is based on real events. I've always been interested in semi dark and morbid things, and the Salem Witch Trials are no exception. I feel like The Crucible puts a more human perspective on the trials; you "see" everything first hand and it makes you understand more of the true scale of the trials. That, plus the relationships it builds between the characters and the way they behave made it a very emotionally moving story for me.
------All in all, from subject matter to the execution of the storytelling, The Crucible is definitely one of my favorite pieces of classic literature.

"Oho, what am I?" the earthy brown Viscet chuckled. "Well I'm your best friend, of course,
and your worst nightmare."
------Videl is a Viscet of many things. The one thing you can be sure of is that he is not what he seems. Though he may look like a nerd or a pushover, you can rest assured that he is anything but that.
------Charming and blessed with a silver tongue, Videl will promise you the world on a silver platter, promise you the sun and the moon, all the while stringing you along deeper into his web of lies. He's a master of deception, and can make you believe anything he wants.
------That's not to say he can't still be genuine. He does have his moments where some sincerity shines through, and there are moments when he does help people. Though perhaps his motivations for doing so may seem questionable at times, when has anyone really understood the reason Videl did anything?
The green maned Viscet pushed himself off the ground and into a sitting position, roughly shaking himself.
"What is that even supposed to..?" he began. "You know what, nevermind."
Faust lurched to his feet, wincing at the sudden pain in his legs and spine, and looked around, taking in the dark and swirling abyss surrounding them.
"Where are we?" he asked, and he heard his voice echoing back to him. "What is this place?"
------Videl is a lover of science, and values logic and reasoning quite highly. He takes a special interest in the dark and the occult, and can often be found lingering around sites of intense magical activity. He seems to be naturally drawn to to magic artifacts and has a special affinity for finding them.
------A collection of these artifacts can be found in his place of residence, carefully on display or stored away. He takes special care to document every detail, painstakingly recording even the finest quirk and magical property. His notes take up several large leather-bound tomes. Some are so old the pages have begun to fray at the edges.
------When a book gets too old and fragile, he goes through a special process to preserve the knowledge contained in it even if the book continues to wear down. Where this information is stored, no one really seems to know. It's a secret Videl keeps very closely guarded.
The grey eyed Viscet grinned. "Oh, nowhere important. It doesn't matter." He turned away from Faust, tail swishing back and forth.
"I have a better question. Do you know why you're here?" The Viscet looked back over his shoulder at him. His eyes glinted sharply in the strange green light, and Faust was suddenly filled with a deep sense of unease.
The question caught him off guard. "N-no?" he stammered. "Wait, no, this doesn't have anything to do with the green rock I found?"
"Gem," the other corrected Faust softly, "But yes, you could say the reason you're here has something to do with it."
------Videl is incredibly mysterious. He's close to no one and knows way more than he should. He just appeared.
------It's as if he's not of this world.
------Perhaps demons really do exist?
"Do you know what that gem does, Faust?" At his words, a perfect replica of the gemstone appeared hovering in the air beside him.
"Wait how do you know my- ugh." Faust shook his head in confusion. This was getting stranger and stranger by the second. "No, no I don't know what the gem does."
"Well you clearly don't, otherwise you'd know why you're here." The replica gem vanished in a puff of green fire and the Viscet turned back to face him fully.
"You could say it's a portal or gateway of sorts. It connects the mortal realm to the demon realm."

The silence that followed his words was deafening and hit Faust like a thunderclap.
His head was spinning and he felt almost nauseous.
Demons?
Before he could gather his wits enough to ask what the hell he meant by that, the brown Viscet seemed to start suddenly.
"Oh!" he exclaimed. "In the excitement of your arrival, I completely forgot to introduce myself. I'm so sorry, that's awfully rude of me. Here, let's fix that." He reached out his right paw, offering it in a handshake. "My name is Videl, but everyone calls me Levi. Whichever you prefer."
"F-Faust," he stuttered weakly, still struggling to comprehend what he'd said before. "Pleasure to meet you, Videl." He reached out to shake Videl's paw, but as soon as their paws made contact Faust felt an incredible shock like a lightning bolt surge through his body. He started, suddenly realizing he couldn't move. He was totally frozen in place, held there by this electric force.
"Oh no, the pleasure's all mine." A devilish grin spread across Videl's face. "Welcome to hell, kiddo.
I'll be your guide."
