Second Chance Shelter is a dog and cat rescue where you can come to find a new member of your family. We rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes so they may have the chance to be placed into a caring home. All of our animals are special and deserve a chance to be happy with an owner that will care for them. The question is: are you ready to love them?

Izuna is mainly a cat that prefers to keep to herself, but she’s almost deceptive in her shyness. She’s a prideful cat behind all of the walls she builds up, so it’s not uncommon for her thoughts to completely differ from what she allows others to perceive. Though she does what she can to stay out of the limelight by offering disarming or placating words, she relishes how easily she’s able to operate behind the scenes, whether it be with dealing with other cats or keeping her status in her home by employing her shrewd nature. She holds her personal identity close to her being and rarely lets others break past her near impenetrable shell.

Yet, underneath her quiet, supercilious nature, Izuna is surprisingly systematic. She has an almost obsessive need to make sure that everything remains orderly and steady within her realm of influence. This conscientiousness makes her responsible, but it can frequently get to the point where she becomes anal retentive in order to make sure that everything operates the way that she feels like she needs it to. This tendency frequently makes her shortsighted, and only the most stubborn personalities seem to be able to knock some sense into her, though she never enjoys being proven wrong. Though not prone to explosive emotion, she gives a mean cold shoulder.

But, not all is lost for Izuna; though she despises realizing that her methods aren’t always tried and true, she's keenly aware of the importance of self-correction. But, her critical way of viewing herself leads to internalized insecurities that she still struggles to overcome. While she may seem set in her ways, she’s willing to be malleable to those who are willing to give her a chance despite how much she feels herself to be lacking.

Her: she snorts. "Yeah right. It's not like your gonna give me one. You just want me to get in that vet basket."

Basically, she can some times be very annoying, nipping and such, but is very smart. If she had fingers she would be solving 1,000 piece puzzles by the minute. She's known to boast and is occasionally arrogant. She can catch birds and mice, but her favorite is catching butterflies and falling leaves. She is an outdoor cat, but she keeps a collar on her neck and sometimes leaves presents ( butterfly wings, feathers, ect. ect.) for her most beloved human, the adult female. She drools a lot, and that's part of the reason that she's an outdoor cat. She is very particular about her humans and is either skittish or aggressive towards new ones. Even though Kaslie is particular about her humans, when she finds a human she likes, she follows it around like a duckling and acts like a kitten again.

Personality: Imelza is incredibly aloof. It is not so much that she is afraid of humans, she just doesn't much like the noise and how they're always trying to grab her. The most appropriate word to describe her attitude towards them would be disgust. More often than not you can find her stalking around in the tall grass or perched atop a high limb of a tree. Her ambition is as fiery as her pelt, and she is quicker in anger than in step. This quirk gets her into more trouble than she should rightly be able to squeeze out of, but never will she accept help. Imelza relishes in her solitude, but is not entirely antisocial. If you respect her independence, she will warm up to you; And if you have a comfy lap on a quiet Sunday evening, she will warm it up for you.
