Name| Erica (#44, cube head girl)
Gender| Female
Personality| Filled with love for the world and everything in it, Erica's an
idealist. While she's quite aware that there's evil in the world - she's not delusional - she
believes in the inherent goodness of mankind. Anyone can change for the better, she believes, and will given the right circumstances.
Forgiveness has always come easy to Erica - even a hint of remorse is more than enough for her.
It's a shame, then, that this cheery, loving personality rarely gets to show. Erica's not introverted, exactly - she adores others' company - but she's
cripplingly shy around strangers. Every time an unfamiliar face tries to speak with her, her mind goes blank, and she ultimately ends up blabbering something utterly incomprehensible. For this reason, she tends to
avoid dealing with strangers, believing that she'll just mess things up - but those she does hang around for long enough quickly discover the warm, cheery girl underneath.
Erica's never had problems letting go - quite the opposite, in fact. People often complain that
she can't hold on to things. She's started possibly thousands of projects only to discard them after getting distracted by a new, more exciting one. Despite how quickly she gets attached to people and how violently she rails against the idea of losing her friends, when they're actually
gone she'll mourn for a bit before bouncing back and moving on. Which isn't to say that she forgets them - the one exception to her
minimalistic lifestyle is the photos and mementoes she keeps of loved ones, saved and backed up to a hundred hard drives and cloud storage services.
Drabble| (will be edited so it, like, actually has a point.)
She didn't mind being alone; Erica wasn't the kind to break down in the absence of people to talk to. She knew and embraced solitude, with all the freedom and productivity that came with it. She was
fine.Neither of those things, though, were applicable here, and she was bored, even if not quite lonely. She should have brought a book or something along. She glanced at the group she'd spent the last couple hours with; they were talking amongst one another, animated. Their laughter could probably be heard from a few cars over. She was tempted to eavesdrop - nobody was likely to notice if she did - but no. She frowned, shifted a little, and stared through the window.
It was a beautiful world out there, she mused. She'd heard disillusioned citizens describe this city as a suburban dystopia, their voices sullen, but she couldn't help but like it. Through the grey that made up the city came flashes of colour - brightly-painted buildings, trees and shrubs, the birds and butterflies that flitted easily past. Peaceful, if nothing else; quiet without being completely uneventful.
She could still remember moving in, the welcoming party the neighbours had thrown her. It had turned out a failure, but that was more her fault than anyone else's. How could they have known she was as awkward as she was, as utterly terrible at interacting with others? She could appreciate the sentiment behind it, if nothing else.
An explanation| The GIF chosen - a rose slowly blooming - doesn't exactly fit her aesthetic, but it's the only one of that nature I could find. Erica's all about change and growth. As outlined in her personality, she seldom holds on to things, and she's very forgiving. She believes in second chances, and, like the rose in the GIF, that anyone can blossom into something stronger, kinder.
