owner: Mango30
show name: Irish Dancer
barn name: Ava (meaning beautiful, radiant, joy)
age: 10 yrs
gender: jenny
weight: 1478 lbs
height: 15.2 hh
eye Color: dark lime
phenotype: sable champagne dun fewspot leopard appaloosa
genotype: Ee aa ChCh Dd nLp
temperament: soft and subtle, yet sassy at particular times

story:
It was only a few days after Ava's birth, that she finally got to see the outside world with her mother. She had been yearning to go out of the stall that she had been born in and she was already able to stand and buck around a little. Her mother had told her of the green grass, blue sky, white clouds, chirping birds, and the yellow orb in the sky known as the Sun. She followed her mother as one of the male two-leggeds led her mother and herself outside. Ava was BURSTING with excitement! The moment the two-legged took her mother's halter off and let them out, Ava ran wild outside in the very large fenced in field. The sun was bright, the grass was a lush green, the birds were chirping and clouds took many different shapes. The sky was a beautiful blue. Mama was right! The outdoors is wonderful! She thought, looking around in wonder with her bright, dark lime eyes. This was a complete different world Ava, and it captured her wonder. Her mother chuckled as she watched her daughter bound about, looking at every little thing and exploring every inch of the place she could. "Mama! Can we stay outside forever?" Ava asked, trotting up to her mother in delight. "No, my dear. But I promise you, we will go outside every day when we can." She nuzzled Ava. "Does that sound good?" Ava looked slightly disappointed, but nodded. "Ok, Mama! I love you!" She nuzzled against her mother and went and bounded off once again, still curious about the outdoors. "I love you too, my dear." Her mother said, going off to graze. And just as her mother promised, they went outside every single day they could, Rain, shine, cold, warm, cloudy or clear. This is one of Ava's most favored memories as a foal.

Hello! I'm Mango30, but I'm usually just called Mango, Puff or River. Really any of those are fine with me! I am a girl and would prefer the pronouns she/her. I ride horses, English style, and I love drawing and anything with horses! I'm completely obsessed horse adopts on here, so please feel free to tell me about any! I watch anime, Transformers Prime, RiD and a little TFA. The animes I watch are Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note, Ouran High Host Club, Soul Eater, Fate Apocrypha, and the Seven Deadly Sins. I'm getting into Supernatural, Merlin, and some other shows like The Dragon Prince. This is just some basic information about me, so PM me if you ever want to talk! I'm free pretty much all the time! I don't bite!

Note: I tend to get a little awkward or anxious, which leads me to ask lots of questions. I'm sorry about that, I just tend to doubt myself sometimes!

    story:
'you want to hear about my younger years? oh, there are plenty of fond memories there, my sweet.'

celeste smiled knowingly. her eyes, although fixed on you, seemed to be seeing beyond you into a time only she could recall. lost to her memories, it was a moment until her gentle voice spoke again, and her voice was so soft you almost didn't hear her begin.

'when I was a yearling, merely a child, i loved it when the mailman came by. he rode a little red motorbike, and you always knew when he was nearby because that thing sounded like a gaggle of geese squabbling over food. i made it my daily task to race that bike. it sounds silly, i know, but sometimes the simplest things can bring great happiness to those with open hearts.'

      * * *

the young mule filly had legs to spare. taller than most her age, she appeared so calm and gentle that, when describing her, she was often remembered as being shorter than she was in reality. that was her nature; understated, subtle, serene. she didn't draw attention to herself, but one couldn't help but adore her.

her name was celeste, and she found joy in almost everything; but one thing in particular. nothing gave her greater pleasure than to feel the burn of galloping the fence line, chasing that little, red post bike. on schedule, she would wander over towards the mailbox, which her paddock was adjacent to, and graze nonchalantly. eyes and ears on the road, she waited, but she needn't be so watchful since the bike made a terrible din as it came roaring down the road. everyone within earshot either covered their ears or watched its passage bitterly, cursing the sound. but not celeste.

as the postman stopped at the main gates to the property, celeste made her way over, her long ears pricked forward. the idling bike taunted her, tempted her to just try and beat it down the road. celeste had not yet staked her claim as the fastest of the two, but she had a good feeling about today. the conditions were perfect for the run: ground soft, but not muddy, barely a breeze and the sun sitting high in the sky casting warmth upon them. today was the day she would beat the bike.

'hey, horsie,' called the familiar postman. celeste forgave him this blunder, as he was clearly not educated enough to know the difference between a horse and the regal creature she knew she was. she tossed her head in anticipation as the bike rumbled to life, and within moments, they were off.

celeste dug her heels into the earth and sprang forward across the paddock. she glanced fleetingly at the bike racing beside her, the fence the only thing between them. the red blur of bike was slightly ahead, but celeste had not yet gained full speed. the race had just begun.

pushing herself forward, her neck stretched out and her tail flying behind her like a flag, celeste ate up the ground. she utilised every ounce of energy she could muster in her attempt to beat the bike. her muscles rippled beneath her velvety cream coat, her freckled nostrils flared and long ears bouncing at each step. her powerful hindquarters pushed her along, and the end was in sight sooner than she had anticipated. there was nothing to stop her except a wooden fence, but she wouldn't slow down. she had to win.

the sound of the bike was like a growl in her ears as she pushed herself to the limit, and finally slammed on the brakes. almost falling into a sitting position as her hind legs tucked beneath her, celeste bounded to a stop mere inches from hitting the fence. her hooves tore up the dirt in great grooves that sent clods of grass flying. she turned quickly to the side to check where the bike was and--

she had beaten it! the bike flashed past only a second behind her, but it was all she needed. she let out a breathless whinny of triumph and could have bucked for joy if she hadn't been so exhausted. the postman waved and sped on down the road, leaving celeste to her jubilant, yet worn-out, celebrations.
