Username: Chromaticfang
Name: The Jester/ Jōkā
Gender: Male
Element:
Love- A lion with the gift of love can:

Cause others to fall madly in love with them,
manipulate others, give others hope.
(Typically never used in battle)
His element is what others believe was his punishment of his creation. The silly little element he now wields which was the same emotion that caused his parents’ demise, their heart strings were tugged by fate and now he was the puppetmaster. Being raised by the rebels, he was taught to do just the opposite of his element. He was taught to hate his element since it was of no use to them battle wise. In a land where mostly battels determined the fate of things, he was out of place and therefore out of a home amongst them until he learned how to twist the so called ‘unharmful’ element into a weapon that could cripple thousands. After all…all is fair in love and war.
Love is a finicky emotion, it can be so easily swayed by the slightest of things and situations.
This leads to him often losing control of the lion/lions he has control of if he gets side tracked by a more negative emotion for even for a second. Using certain moves such as Casanova’s Revenge also wears him down mentally and emotionally as he’s conflicted about luring lions back to the rebel forces for the same reason that his parents were casted out. Strong emotions of hate spouting from him are known to cancel out his own ability of love, leaving him defenseless until he can get himself under control once more.
Enchantment: What’s expected of this power of his. This move makes the target fall madly in love with him, almost to the point of crippling them if they were previously thinking of attacking. -Harem’s Circle- Usually used if he has a group under his control, connected to the enchantment attack. If enough lions are enraptured by him then he’d order them to form a defensive circle around him. If there is a dangerous situation Jōkā will instruct his /adoring/ fans protect the person they love, himself, in which they will blindly attack anyone that has ill intentions towards him.
Encore: Mostly used when performing and not in a harmful way. Visual attack that makes various colored hearts appear in which he is able to bend into shapes to amuse lions before floating into the crowd, filling each lion that comes into contact with one with a sense of loving what his troop is doing that leads them to wanting more, craving more of their acts and displays which usually spurs an encore after the end of their shows.
Casanova’s Revenge: This attack fills those affected up with a sense of pride, hope, and adoration towards whatever object he desires. He often uses this attack on pride lions in order to make them madly in love with the rebels and their cause, filling their heads up of so many false but strong emotions that they would leave the pride and joint the rebels to follow the one that they think they love.
Soul Mate: Should a lion be exposed to his powers for an extended amount of time, they tend to be easier to control and the affects will become permanent. This attack is rarely performed successfully just due to the fact that even Jōkā cannot keep such an emotion within him for so long. Love can be fleeting and it is taxing to continue to exert it upon a lion who may be fighting against it. Usually this can only be successfully performed with the help of other lions who may keep the target asleep or perhaps even change their mindset to not make them resist as much such as with the use of telepathy.
Rank: Performer
Another viable sub rank for any within the pride members group is a performer. The lions pride themselves in their traditions and festivities, making such a position a great honor with a lot of weight to uphold and bring justice to the graceful art. Performers though still required to watch the stars and positions a few days a week, may take to their art and practice to prepare for upcoming festivities. Their role also requires diplomatic missions off planet, meeting with royalty from all across the galaxy and displaying the lions hospitality and power while also creating alliances. This opportunity is a very slim one, making it the envy of many within the pride members ranks.
Jōkā’s life had been nothing but one big performance scripted out before him so he thought, why not take up a position similar to that while he resided in the pride. He chose the rank of Performer to aim for as that was where he truly shined. For once in his life, he felt the adoration and attention he’d always wanted and was deprived of whenever he stood up on those makeshift stages with his performing troop. Despite not having the most visual effects in comparison to the others who made their performance more enhanced by spouting bits of fire or water, Jōkā was allowed this rank because his element could really draw the crowd into it as well as diffuse situations should a problem arise while they are off of the planet visiting other galactic royalties which was also a condition of the position. This also left more of an opportunity to perhaps sway other royalties to the rebel’s side should he ever be left alone with them long enough to expose them to the true intent of his stay in the pride. While enjoying his position originally wasn’t part of his plan, it all worked out in the end as it kept him happier and in turn kept his element working at its full capabilities while he built up the hope and happiness of the pride for the rebels to ultimately tear down.
Other than just making the overall show more appealing for everyone, his main performance talent is singing. Gaining his mother’s incredible skills in such, he is known to sing for many of the important occasions and festivals that the pride held as well as after the occasional mating ritual, helping the newly joined pair celebrate their bonding. He is also known to be a decent dancer and also dabbles in the art of animal training which isn’t much training at all. At most, he uses his element in order to make even the most aggressive species on the planet roll over and become docile such as the average cub. This spectacle also draws in many crowds as it isn’t every day that you see a Caffer being nice instead of aggressive to protect each other from a pride of lions who’d usually hunt them.Personality: Overview
Jōkā’s personality is just one that he was trained to have, a facade in order to accommodate and fit perfectly into the traitorous role he was assigned to. He is overall a seemingly silly and jolly lion to play his role a as performer quite well, hiding his true intelligence, or at least more than what he is needed in order to not drawn any unwanted attention to himself. However at times he finds himself slipping to far into the roll, forgetting his true identity. During these episodes, own element working against him sometimes to the point where he actually..feels something for the pride and it’s inhabitants, occasionally having a breakdown as he tries to part his fake life as a performer which he actually enjoys to be reminded of what his heart is truly for. The Rebels.
Mysterious-
difficult or impossible to understand, explain, or identifyMuch isn’t known about this colorful lion other than he just randomly appeared in the pride one day, waving a white cloth strung by his tail almost like a white flag, obviously meaning no harm. He rarely speaks of his past and when he does it’s often in riddles that are hard to decipher. For anyone asking for a straight answer then he will jokingly answer of course to not cause any trouble, but in other languages that he learned from the lions who had been to earth.
Charming-
(of a person or manner) polite, friendly, and likableHow could he not be? Anything less would be a disgrace to his element. This lion certainly has a way with words as he is able to charm even the strongest of lions off their feet. It comes naturally to the point where he doesn’t even recognize it and his plain words could be considered as flirting. Rarely is he ever serious about his charms, never going as far as to actually bring on some sort of relationship past friendships.
Intelligent-
having or showing intelligence, especially of a high levelPart of the reason why he seems to be so appealing to lions is that fact that he is smart. He is observant of one’s behavior, figuring out how both them and their minds work as well as taking little notes of the lions he passes from day to day. Using that knowledge as well as his brain along to adjust his own personality into what would suit them best. Should he encounter a more aggressive lion then he’d shift to perhaps not joke around as much or become stricter in order to appeal to their better nature.
negative
Emotional-
(of a person) having feelings that are easily excited and openly displayedOne of his weakness or so he’d like to think. For a lion that plays the puppet master over hearts, his is often played with. It is relatively easy for himself to catch feelings spurred on by others. Over things that he strongly supports he’s willing to speak out his heart in order to give his full opinion without holding back which can be bad for him if the wrong subject to brought up. At times, how strongly he speaks of the pride even surprises himself.
Distraught -
deeply upset and agitatedWith his heart being easily influence, it brings episodes where he fights with himself to stay true to himself and the rebels. He feels bad that he would even consider the thought of staying in the pride and leaving the only home he had ever known behind. On one hand, he actually enjoys his position and sometimes has the scary thought that he wouldn’t give it up for anything in the word. On the other, he knows that he’s only a soldier for the rebels and that he is only supposed to be stationed in the pride temporarily. Who he really is and will be is lost on him so he often just focuses on the moment in order to no be drowned in his conflicting thoughts.
History‘’How could such a loving creature come from such an unholy union……….’’
That was the question that run out from many of the rebel’s mouth’s as they looked down upon the cub with disgust.
‘’Born from an unlawful relationship between a pride lioness and rebel lion.
They attempted to keep him a secret and for years they kept trying.
Eventually their secret and love came to light
It was finally time to take flight
Ousted by the rebels, questioned by the pride
The two disappeared into the unknown, leaving their poor cub behind’’
“Guilty!!”
“Exile!!”
The rebels grew in volume and shouted at the top of their lungs as the hearing took place.
There stood the accused one, a tall rugged lion covered in scars that should have earned him some sort of merit. His valiance and bravery love forgotten as words of his affair came to the light. What was his crime you ask? Treason. Treason on the grounds of him apparently ‘betraying’ the cause by falling in love with a pride lioness and even siring a cub from her. A plain, dull crème colored and very unimpressing cub.
There he stood with a brave face, ready to take whatever consequence came his way as he only believed that he had done what was right. There was no place in the world for a cub to be shared between two parents split by their ideals which lead him to renounce his Rebel ways in the hope of being accepted by the pride. Of course, his plan was discovered long before he could enact it, leading to the trail he was facing now.
The crowd hushed as the verdict was quickly decided. With his change of heart, there was no place for him there, but there was also the cub to consider. With the loss of a solider, the cub naturally was a replacement.
“You may leave with your lover on the condition that the cub stays.”
It was a hard decision but the male knew that he had been let off easy. His weakness was one that was generally rewarded with death, but was now rewarded with the loss of his son. Over the next 20 years, the parents were allowed the keep the cub as usual, using every last moment to spend and care for their son that they knew they would soon have to desert against their will. They spend every moment telling the cub that they loved him, the cub not really understanding as it always seemed that they were preparing for their time together to be their last.
The first 5 years were spent primarily with bonding and afterwards was when the real problem began to show. The cub had taken after the mother and gained the element of love…an element that was generally considered useless among the Rebels, a society where they believed the power determined your rank. How could their cub possibly survive among these brutes when they didn’t really have a good element that they could defend themselves with. This worrisome thought stayed in the back of the parent’s mind as the continued training their son to the best of their abilities, mostly mentally in order to help with the onslaught of taunts and torments that they knew were bound to come.
“It’s time.”
A cub trainer appeared at their den on the exact day that the couple’s cub turned 20 years old, ready to finally take the cub away from them in order to be separated into it’s class that will help train it in order to be helpful to the rebels. The father tried to fight them off of course, but was quickly brought down by the mass that had them surrounded. It was only a matter of time before the cub was forcefully carried away, never to see its parents again.
The parents were supposedly allowed to finally leave the rebel’s land in search of the life they had always hoped for but the pair was never heard from again, last seen somewhere in the mountains and disappearing before reaching pride lands.
Before disappearing, what the parent’s neglected to tell was of the cub’s element which the trainers soon came to know.
-------
“Love? Love?! That’s the most useless element out there! At least the cub over there that has the element of Color can change a lion’s pelt to create disguises?!”
There was much turmoil on how would they even go about training the cub. Of course he could learn the basics of battle like how to fight with his claws and teeth, but against any other lion who would have a broader variety of attacks thanks to like the other several /useful/ elements the poor cub wouldn’t stand a chance.
“He’s nothing but a joke like his father.”
That was one of the few lines that he cub had remembered, before he was casted aside from the normal training regimen. Not much effort went into training the cub, in fact the only thing that was directed towards him was mockery. His whole history to that point was hilarious to them and the fact that his element made him even more useless made him a total joke. In fact they even named him after that.
From then on Jōkā grew up along the sidelines, never really being given the chance to actually show if he could have been useful at any point. His lack of training led to his own element affecting others but mostly himself at random in which he found that he just couldn’t hate the place he had been raised in. In fact he actually grew adoration for it and it’s members instead despite of how they all treated him. Somewhere inside he knew that just maybe he wasn’t supposed to feel this way, but without proper training the feeling only grew and grew until it was set in his mind. He was a victim of what will come to be known as one of his own attacks.
Now driven by the love of the Rebels, he focused on himself to make himself better in order to actually be able to do something, anything to make him actually be worthy of staying in such a grand place. Through practice and persistence, Jōkā taught himself to be able to control his element over the last 100 years without the training courses and the crucial mentors that were normally granted to cubs, he spent as an outsider amongst the Rebels so that by the time that he earned whichever mane he’d be able to finally prove that he was capable of being placed among the ranks. When the day finally came, boy were they surprised.
Upon going through the trial to finally become a warrior, Jōkā had expertly used his otherwise called ‘useless’ element to turn all the other aggressive trainees into nothing more that docile kittens. The sparing group feel head over heels in love with him and were unable to attack. Not only that but all those that were viewing the final sparring session was incredibly infatuated with him, simply taken away by his prowess. All the adoring eyes suddenly became…addictive. The attention he was getting was delightful and he beamed with pride as he soaked it all in, deciding that after years of being ignored he could certainly get used to this. It was easy to earn their favor but alas, the lack of proper training still left room for faults. His powers were powerful although short lived. Once the faze was over, the higher ups however didn’t automatically shoot down his request for actually becoming something other than a disappointment in their eyes. They took note of the way he could persuade crowds, how he could easily sway their emotions and bend them to his will and after a lot of consideration, they knew that it was a skill that would ultimately help him although not on their turf nor one the battlefield. Instead they planned and schemed to plant their cupid directly in the heart of enemy territory.
This is how he came to be in the pride’s territory on a mission to infiltrate their forces with the disguise of being a simple performer. Realizing that he might be recognized as the cub that went missing along with its mother oh so long ago, the rebels enlisted in the help of a lioness who had the element of color. With that, the lioness was able to paint him to fit the roll, using her element to change his pelt’s color into an intricate and whimsical design so that he looked the part he played.
Now with a new look and a new attitude to fit it, Jōkā was ready to finally serve out his duties for the Rebel forces. Singing, dancing, and enrapturing crowds upon crowns and winning over the hearts of many but the act he was putting on was also capturing his own heart…drawing him in further as he frolicked in the fame and attention once more. A conflict arises if he’d be able to give it all up when the moment arrived…..Only time will tell.
