Name(s): Heart of Ash // Ash
Gender: Stallion
Story:
Ash has always been called a dare devil, bold, defiant, rebellious, kind of wild . . . He has always walked on the wild side, being loyal to no one but himself.
There was no one his age in the herd at the time so Ash spent his time alone.
Then
Khalida came along. Khalida was young, beautiful, kind, spirited, full of life, and smart. Too smart to let herself be involved with someone like Ash.
But for some reason he couldn't ignore her. He was a captured by her kindness and spirit and wonderd what it would be like to have a true friend. For the first time he wanted to be someone better, someone worthy.
Ash tried to get her to notice him, but nothing seemed to work. She never ignored him but all he got from her were smiles or a quiet greeting. Ash felt dejected and eventually gave up, going to his quiet place to think.
It was there that he met Khalida who had apparently found his spot.
Half angry by her rejection he grumpily asked her what she was doing there.
She apologized and said she had been looking around her new home for some pretty places to visit.
Still grumpy he said she could leave his special place any time she wanted to.
Khalida had looked hurt and asked if she was bothering him.
Ash had felt a little guilty and muttered something about her not wanting to be around him.
Khalida had looked surprised and asked why he would think that.
When he told her she had liked confused then laughed.
Ash almost left, but Khalida stopped him and said she was sorry for, laughing, but she was just shy and had thought he wouldn't be interested in being her friend. She had liked him just the way he was.
Then Ash had laughed. Khalida suggested they walk back to the herd and on the way they talked about themselves, their interests, and by the time they were back home they felt like they had known each other forever.
They have been best friends ever since, and even rubbed off on each other a little, he being more gentle and she becoming a little more adventerous.
