xxxxxAs a young filly, Firefly spent her days
running in a flowery field with her loving parents.
They always talked of how at night, if you search
in the right places, dots of light, holy and pure,
would lead you to what you wanted most in life.
Being a curious young foal, she left her parents
one dark night in search of these specs of light.
As she wandered unknowingly in circles for hours,
she quickly became lost, and as she grew tired,
she knew in a rising panic that she was alone.
With her small heart beating quick, she bolted,
and ran until her tiny legs became tired and weak
with exhaustion, she collapsed beneath a tree.
xxxxxFirefly awoke to the sound of hooves and
a snort. As her eyes opened to fuzzy looking world,
she noticed a young colt stood in front of her.
He nickered a greeting, calling himself Phoenix,
and was wondering why a beautiful filly like her
was alone in a forest. Shaking her head, she rose
to her hooves, finding warmth in the colts comfort,
knowing she didn't have to be afraid anymore.
xxxxxShe never found the glowing lights, or her
parents, but she knew they were out there, her
obsessionto find them drove her onward,
Phoenix always at herside to keep her
fears at bay.

personality;
Asura can be described by many as aggressive and sadistic but he is just over protective of his welfare and his safety, and for a good reason too. He has limited people skills but for some reason has a bond with one young boy, seven year old Thomas and he has a soft spot in his cold, cold heart for this child. Asura can be flashy and standoffish, he is a very proud and self-confident animal who like to take life in his stride and doesn't like to back down from a challenge as that wouldn't do good for his huge ego.
This older stallion is a fatherly figure and adores his every child, he is often seen fathering and protecting the young foals of other stallions, even the ones he hates the most. Asura is a leader, he likes to take control of every situation he is in, even if it's just who's eating first, he needs to be in charge otherwise he gets quite the temper about him.
There is little that this stud doesn't hear about, he seems to know everything about everyone as he likes to make sure that everything is in check and that there is no trouble in his domain. Never hurt or take advantage of this stallions trust or kindness as you will regret it, once his trust in you is gone, there is little that will make his forgive you after that. In short, Asura is a force to be reckoned with, he wears armour that shows his aggression as protection but is a marshmellow on the inside.

history;
Thunder replied violently to the bright flashes of white lightning that filled the stormy midnight sky, rain bucketed down against the once dusty and dry bush ground. The rivers flooded through the surrounding paddocks, taking the loose dirt and grass with it making the once clear and clean water mucky and brown, almost like a river of chocolate milk. Through all the violent winds, a little colt was born, his coat damp and dull from the driving rain with his elderly mother standing watch, guarding the little fellow from the deadly elements.
As the days went by, the little colt grew and slowly the dark winter days grew longer and faded into the summer ones. By this time the little Asura had learnt many things about the little world he had grown in. Like not to go near the electric fence, or if you're going to chase a rabbit, don't go as far as to step in the rabbit hole. But most of all, not to go beyond the tree line, what lays beyond the pine trees involves a mixture of fear and anger. Asura had be told never to venture past the safety of the herd's home, a large field owned by a man dedicated to saving the feral populations, but a curious and adventurous colt like him wouldn't let a little fear stop him. The six month old appaloosa ventured free into the cool air of the night, the feel of pure adrenaline surged through his small but not so frail body as he pushed through his forbidden task, he stepped forward with his home no longer in sight. The new area was clear of all trees and the burnt ground crunched and crackled underfoot, leaving black stains on the colts pale coat.
The rest is a blur, blocked out by several years of hard labour and honest regret but what is remembered is the smell of pure fear, the taste of death and the sights and sound of scarred hearts and minds. Asura had found himself on a truck cramped full with other wild horses, their manes and tails matted and their coats dull from dehydration and a lack of weight on their bones, this experience was very scarring to the innocent little colt for the rest if his life.
For what seemed like forever, Asura and the other horses travelled on this truck until they reached a sale yards, but this place was no refuge from the torture that had been so accidentally discovered by the little horse. For hours Asura fought his way to the barely full water trough and hustled his way to the gate as bunches of his now companions were herded away, soon only leaving him and the other youngsters. A great plan was needed to escape this hell hole and one had been discovered in the furthest reaches of the palomino's imagination, as the gate opened, Asura bolted. His legs seemed to have a mind of their own as he head on charged a man and ran out through an open cattle crush. Into the nearby bushland did he run, and this is where his journey began.
Anyone with the name "Asura" is said to have an inner desire for travel and adventure and to set life to their own pace, not allot can change that. The not-so-little colt grew and conquered many stallions in his prime years, as a four year old he had travelled over one thousand kilometres in search of his homeland. At the age of six he galloped through a raging bushfire and emerged without a single scrape, by this time a legend had began to circle around this palomino appaloosa. He was known as "Hell's Angel" as he seemed to bring a handfull of a mixture of good and bad luck with him, one man won the 10 million dollar jackpot of powerball one hour after being unable to stop the six year old from stealing seven of his prize pony mares. Another found a literal gold mine after chasing down Asura when he destroyed the farmers crops. The last sighting involved a single mother and her two young kids, for some unknown reason Asura followed the young woman and protected her until she reached a safe place, met a man and was safe, for three years the appaloosa was sighted following at a distance, chasing away feral dogs, thieves, killing snakes and so on. But the bad luck was great, although he provided good luck with guiding the human, his bad luck took a toll with little food and droughts blamed on the stallions sudden appearances.
At the age of nine, luck seemed to be against Asura for the second time in his life. The stud was captured, abused, neglected and tortured into pulling a cart for tourists in a big city. For the next four years of his life, the legend of the "Hell's Angel" wild stallion was forgotten and hope in small bush towns seemed to disappear, their little 'bushranger' and 'legend-of-a-horse" had been captured and forced into what could be described as slavery. For four years, a petition to rescue Asura floated around until enough signatures were collected, it was sent to the government and after three long months of waiting it was decided that he would be released into a horse sanctuary known as 'Hooves and Hopes Wild Horse Rescue'. Soon the stallion was floated for three days to what he would soon realise was his homeland, he now lives out the rest of his days in peace with familiar smells and horses all around him.
