Ginger loves "The Dinner Bell Carol". She loves it not only for the hang at the end when the door opens, but also the fun she has listing to the carolers sing it when they come to the the barn for the big holiday. She loves how at the end, when the door opens, she can just imagine what type of people are coming and what fun they will have. Not only that, but this song is funny and comical. It's completely different from the original song and she loves it when someone who hasn't heard of this version listens to it and she always cracks up laughing when she does. There was one time that Gator heard it and the song had come to the line of "Sweep up the glass, we can't be late. Somebody quickly go to the attic. There's extra china packed in a box." and he thought it said "There's extra children packed in a box" and that made her crack up laughing so much! So every time the song is playing and Gator is listening, she always says to him "China! Not Children!".

Ginger is actually a shy mare. She is such a sweetie and once you really get to know her, you can really get the full sweetness of her personality. Ginger has the softest touch and has such a soft and quiet voice. Ginger always have a positive outlook on life and she is a great friend and tolter to have around. She loves to live in the moment and enjoy everything to it's fullest potential, though, nothing is better than being with her best friend, Obie. Ginger loves trail rides, especially during the winter because she loves looking at the untouched forests and fields of snow. When It comes to the holidays, Ginger is all in it in decorating. She loves to decorate her stall and for Christmas, she puts pine-cones, berries, fluffy fur branches and any-type of little string that matches the holiday theme.

Ginger's best friend is Obie. Those two have so much fun together, though I think Obie may have rubbed off on Ginger. Ginger has become a bit more witty and she is not as shy. This has caused her to be more friendly to new tolters, instead of being very quiet around them. Ginger is one of those tolters that everyone wants to be around, but she doesn't really want all the attention. She doesn't like when there is a lot of attention on her from several, several people/horses. But one of Gingers most favorite things is to make people happy, and that definitely includes Obie. Together, (Well with Obie's brother as well) they are so bubbly and Ginger will feed off of Obies energy. When ginger feels not very comfortable with all the attention or becomes more her shy self, she always goes to Obie for help. With Obie at her side, coaching her on, Ginger can ALMOST do anything.

Ginger loves Christmas. It's not just the snow that she loves too, it's the wonderful smells and decorations that are everywhere. They all just make everything seem magical and cheerful. She loves the holidays, but christmas is her favorite. All the cherry nature of those around her at this time of year brings out her shyness and can sometimes, if your sneaky, find her prancing and dancing around in the snow or to some of her favorite tunes, full of glee by her self in the field. She never lets a frozen day from having a day full of holiday fun with Obie. During Chirstmas, happiness at times can practically radiate off of her. Christmas has some of her favorite memories.(Though, she does have the best of times with Obie) And lets not forget about the music, because Ginger loves listening to music. Some of her favorite songs are Christmas songs, and these are her favorites because they are always so cheerful. Though, a week after Christmas, she tends not to like to listen to Christmas songs other than the dinner bell carol because it is no longer Christmas and it just gets her all excited for next Christmas.

"awww" I yawn as I wake up. In my half sleep I start to says "whaaa, what day...WAIT! It's CHRISTMAS!" I jump awake as I realize today is Christmas day. I look around at the holiday themed barn and smile as I look around my stall at all the little trinkets and decorations for Christmas. I neigh out to Obie "Obie, are you awake?" A few stalls over I here her start to shuffle around in her stall. I then hear a big yawn and a reply "I am now!" I laugh and say to her "Merry Christmas Obie!" She lets out another big yawn and says back "Merry Christmas Ginger! You ready to go help with the sled pulling? I hope we get to be partners this year."
"I hope we do. oh! I'm so excited to see the snow!" I hear a call from May to Jaxon. Obie neighs out to them and says "Oh! Their here! And it looks like their coming to us first!" Yes! That means that we can go play out in the snow once we're done!" As May got me ready and Jaxon got Obie ready we got tons of treats and I got my favorite treat of all pepermints! "mmmm" I say as I munch away at the sweet flavored mints" Before I know it we are ready and being led out into the snow. "Burrr!" I say as I get a blast of the cold air and take in a deep breath as I look at the winter wonderland. "wow!" I wisper "There's so much snow!" As we walk past a pile of snow I stick my nose into it and snort, lifting my head quickly causing snow to be flicked onto Obie. I laugh as she jumps because she wasn't paying attention. "hahaha, I got you!" Obie rolls her eyes and laughs.

As we were getting hooked up to the sled, I hear little kids. I turn my head and look to the left and there, coming around the corner of the barn from the parking lot was the first family that we where going to pull. "oh! Look at the little one! She's so cute!" I saw indicating to the little kid wearing the heavy, fluffy pink coat. She was laughing and when she saw us she said "Look momma! Pretty Horsies!" I snort, laughing, as she runs up to me and pets my neck. I nuzzle her with my nose and give her a wet slobbery kiss, causing her the give out high pitched laughter. "Okay everybody, come on board the sleigh!" May says "Yippy! said the little girl. "ready?" I ask Obie She laughs and says "Yes!". May gives us the signal to start trotting. Sense I know the route like the back of my hoof, I mostly looked at the scenery. "wow! Look at all that untouched snow!" I smile, happy and slightly hyper, ready to be released from the sled to go play in the snow.

As we finish going through part of the forest and return to the barn yard, I see paw prints in the snow. That's weird, none of the dogs are out yet, they are still sleeping in their warm beds. I flick my ears nervously and Obie notices. "Whats wrong Ginger?" "Oh, I saw some paw prints, but I don't remember and of the dogs being out yet." She thinks about it a bit and says "Your right, sense its been colder in the mornings, they usually don't come out of the barn and barn house until a little later in the morning. We should go look once we get all this tack off." The rest of the sled ride went by fast as I was too concerned about the paw prints, what if they were from a mean, stray dog or coyote?

After they finished their turn of pulling people though the snow filled wonderland and were led out to the pasture, Obie wanted to go investigate. "Are you sure about this Obie? What if it was a coyote?" Obie rolls her eyes and says "Don't be such a scardy cat, its probably nothing!" As we where walking I here a yep. "What's that!" I jumped as it sounded just past the fence. "hmmm, that sounded more like a puppy" Said Obie, she went over to the fence and leaned over it, peering into the trees. She let in a sharp breath and said "Look! Over there, under that small tree, it IS a puppy!" I walk closer and look, and there it was, a small puppy shaking in the snow under the tree. It looks over at us and barks, getting up with a little trouble and slightly limping to us. "Aww," I say, melting instantly when I feel its cold body lean again my leg. "Lets get this little puppy to the barn and alert one of the riders" I nudged the puppy with my head getting it to walk.

When we got to the barn, Obie sure did get the attention of a rider. She started neighing and making all types of ruckus. Soon May came from the barn with a halter(looked like Gators halter) in hand. When she saw us with the puppy she dropped the halter and ran the the fence. "Where did this poor little puppy come from?!?" She picked up the puppy and hurried to the house.

~Later That Day~

"Well, that was a really Christmas surprise for us" I say "And a cute one too" We'd been sitting out in the paddock with our warm blankets watching as more snow fell onto the already snow filled ground. I watch as my breath comes out in a big moist cloud "I wonder if the puppy is staying with us, I think he's a cutie" "hahaha, me to. He was so tiny!" We turn our heads as we hear May come out of the house. She calls out and says "Come here Theo!" I look, to try and see who she is calling Theo, and out comes the small puppy all bundled up with a red coat and dog boots. He looked so cute as he bounded down the stairs and raced around the yard. As he was doing his business I told Obie " Well, it looks like he was just out in the cold too long, that's good that he wasn't hurt too badly" I look over as Theo starts to bark excitedly. I see him bounding over to us and I neigh out to him. When he reaches us he jumps around, rolling in the snow and trying to get us to play with him "Well" Obie said "It looks like he really is a Christmas surprise, and a good one too. Looks like we've found a new friend!"
