With a short story [150 words min] tell me about the worst christmas morning your rpw/oc (for non-owners) had?Gerard opened his eyes. It was Christmas morning! He bolted down the stairs, tail happily wagging with anticipation - he couldn't wait to get to the tree and see what Santa had left him! At six years old, he was just a pup, and excited beyond belief for Christmas. A grin plastered to his face, he skidded around the corner, coming face-to-face with the tree. He suddenly stopped, tail dropping to the ground faster than a soufflé taken out of the oven too soon. The tree, while lit up with ornaments and lights, was barren underneath. A measly three presents were lain under it. With a glance over at the table, he'd seen that Santa had, in fact, been to visit - the cookies and milk were gone. He frowned, sniffing around. Nothing was to be found except the three presents. After he lifted up one, he found a note taped to the tree skirt. Gerard picked it up, and read it aloud quietly. "Dear Gerry - Sorry about the lack of presents this year. Your parents haven't had much work, and they weren't able to buy you anything. I got you something, though - I hope you like it. I got something for each of your parents, too - hopefully they appreciate the gifts. I'm sorry about all this - your parents have had a really rough year. Perhaps next year will be better. Have a good seventh year, Gerry. Sincerely, Santa Claus."
Gerard's father sleepily padded out, bathrobe loose against his thin frame. "Mornin', Ger. Why the long face?"
"No presents," he murmured, tears glistening in his eyes.
