Story:

It had been a normal day, casual as the Autumn birch trees losing orange patterned leaves. Till I had stumbled on something, something magical and something as incredible as the idea of ghost pirates. Apples. And not those wrinkled, prun-resembling ones that even a fly would hold his head high in distaste at ones. No, this one which had humbly fallen from a tree, one of the few survivors of the truly bone stripping Autumn. It had rolled, causing panic for hiking ants and interest in birds nestled in disarrayed nests from last night's storm. My muzzle dripping with dewdrops of memories, mostly of last nights playful squeals, lowered to the ground like an elevator.

I pursed my lips, nudging it lightly like a cat might nudge a plastic bag, just so it can stick it's head into it. My mane fell over one side of my dark bay neck, black tentacles of mane falling disgracefully over my face. It sat still, unmoved and unbreathing infront of my clipped and metallic hooves, brave enough to stay. It intrigued me more, all ants ran in terror of themselves being squashed. Birds were too self absorbed to care about loping, foolish creatures and rabbits were frightened of their own whiskers. Yet it, a figure of what was soon to be known sweet crispness stood, a single stem sticking from its head, sticking out like a sour thumb. Was this thing even edible, without breath, without movement surely it couldn't be alive.

But I was scared, what if it was alive, some weird thing that need not oxygen or moving muscles to be alive, to communicate, to prove its worth. No I would have to take a shot, I was brave and I was courageous and here I was contemplating this thing's life or death status. With a swift movement as fast as a striking snake it bit it, in between the two rows of teeth I had. The revolving sweetness and crisp but refreshing flavour bringing me to awe, amazement, whatever you want to call it. It fell apart between my chompers, so delicate but so heavily laden with juice and flavour.

Now every season I search around for the apples, well that's what the humans called it anyway. Licking dripping juice if my chin satisfyingly but realising. My thirst for them, like a vengeful hero was unquenched and never could be. But why should it be, because that vengeful hero without revenge on his mind would then be empty, purposeless and a shell if what he use to be. So yeah, I liked the thought of never finishing this quest, this quest of eating every last Apple. Because it always left me in hope, hope of another one, another victim to crush. That's why I could never forget the first encounter I had with my new favourite. Apples.
I've been on like a 6-7 month hiatus..... soooo to all that know me sorry. And Boop! I'm revamping??? Everything??? Idk what you would call it. I've found myself I think, through fan fiction, high school drama and a whole lot of maturing. Have a new room, new sense of humour, yeah. Ready to start helping the world. I think??? Still questioning my messed up life where I'm pretty sure my old cat is my spirit animal, I have a tea addiction (weak and sweet mind you!) and possibly building a author/ artist career??? There's a lot of question marks but that's life.

Always expect more questions than answers and you might just find yourself. xoxo

I think in the interest of this thing actually being judged,
I'll change the judging requirements to an end date of October 25th.
Extensions can be made, as well. c;

Sorry about the wait, something came up. DX
This was really tough, I actually had to get help to judge!
In the end, this one really took.
All yours. c:
