How did they receive their necklace?
Azul had always been working. Making trinkets and tiny bits of jewelery made of gems and precious jewels
she finds around the town. She can make jewelery out of almost anything. Give her a piece of scrap metal
and some thread. I guarentee she'll make something interesting. If she doesn't make something of your own
interest, she'll make another. Then another. She'll keep making them especially for you. She values customers.
One day while she was out looking for interesting gemstones, she found an oddly placed oasis. What could it
be doing here? She squinted at it, trying to make sure it wasn't a mirage. She certainly wasn't thirsty or hungry,
so it couldn't be a mirage, right? Azul went towards it anyways, ignoring the fact that it could be a mirage.
She made her way to the oasis. It was real, all right. She looked at the large palm trees towering above her, then
looked at the water. It looked so clear, so blue..and..wait. Thirsty. So thirsty. Azul's mouth was dry and her throat
felt like it was burning. She had ignored the fact that she was thirsty until she got at the oasis. Then an idea popped up.
Azul, fueled by her thirst, threw herself into the water and began lapping it up as fast as she could. She paused,
wheezing. All of a sudden, her vision started warping and blurring. Tainted water? Panicking, Azul screamed and
ran out of the water. It was fairly shallow water, so she ran out of it easily. Everything was blurry. Disorientated.
Disproportionate. Everything was blurring.
She passed out.
Azul woke up with a start, jolting upwards. She looked around. Where was she? She was in a cave of some sorts.
Something heavy was on her neck. She felt the object. It seemed to be a necklace.
Cool. Free loot.
It was dark, the floor was cold, and the only light was coming from a small part of the cave. It looked like the flame
from a fire. Again, ignoring her aching muscles, Azul walked towards the light, limping and sluggishly dragging her
long tail behind. She entered the area where the light was coming from, and her jaw dropped.
Jewels. Jewels everywhere. Diamonds. Emeralds. Opals. Quartzes. So many of them. She just had to get them. She
grabbed a satchel she had kept by her side (only to collect objects for her jewelery, of course.) and stuffed numerous
goodies inside. In fact, she stuffed more than she could carry in the decently sized satchel. After stuffing the gems in
her satchel, she paused and looked around. Where was the exit?
Azul ran around the gigantic piles of jewels, zig-zagging her way through, desperately trying to find an exit route.
After an hour or so of running around, the tired katkin sighed and sat down. She took off the object she was wearing
around her neck, and her face lit up. It was a jade necklace. It was so lovely and beautiful. But why did she have this
on her? She inspected it a bit, turning it around. It all happened when she rubbed the jade in the middle.
There was a small speck of mud on the jade part of the necklace, and she rubbed the mud off of the gem. The
necklace suddenly flew out of her hands and slammed back on her neck. Azul screamed hoarsely. The necklace
slammed right onto her neck, roughly spreading pain throughout her throat. Her vision blurred again. Things
were becoming disoriented. Everything was turning black. She passed out a second time.
Azul woke up, now tired to even open her eyes or get up. Her muscles ached. Her throat ached. Her eyes were
burning. A sharp tugging on her satchel made her squeak and get up. It was another katkin, apparently trying to
steal her satchel full of gems. She hissed, and the "thief" ran away. Azul looked around once again.
She was back at the village. Well, close enough. She woke up in the oasis, leaned up against a palm tree.
Azul ran back to the village, wanting to tell the story of what she went through.
She still uses the necklace to get back into that gemstone stockpile of a cave.
