Cordelia is a quiet Viscet, but is very efficient at what she does. Namely, taming sea serpents. Born in Norway, Cordelia has been raised by stories of sea serpents, Norse gods, and other Norse mythology. At first, Cordelia didn't quite believe the stories and tales, and she simply accepted it. When she was 25, she was sailing with her parents, when the sky became dark and stormy. A few sails have been ripped off by the sheer force of the wind, and many Viscets drowned, including Cordelia's siblings and her father. Cordelia herself has been thrown overboard, and just as her head was about to submerge into the dark murky water, she noticed a green and scaley serpent wrapping its tail tightly around the mast. With a quick swish, the mast snapped off, and that was all Cordelia could register in her head before she fell unconscious.

The sea serpent that had doomed Cordelia's ship could've just let her sink and die like the other Viscets, but it didn't. Instead, it grabbed Cordelia, and encased the latter's head with a bubble of air. The two dove down towards the ocean floor, and into a dry cave with oxygen and no water. The air bubble popped seconds after Cordelia entered the cave, as she fell to the ground, choking and gasping for air. The sea serpent told Cordelia that everyone on the ship died, and she sat there, quietly mourning for those who have lost their lives that bitter night. Unlike many beliefs, sea serpents can feel emotions, and this particular one could feel Cordelia's sorrow flowing off of her in waves. Knowing that Cordelia had no way to return to her life on land, the sea serpent granted Cordelia immortality and the ability to breathe underwater without difficulty. At first, Cordelia didn't want to have anything to do with the sea serpent and the ocean, but eventually accepted it as there was no way to get back to land. She now works as an immortal sea serpent tamer, and the one who has granted Cordelia immortality stuck by her side, helping the Viscet adjust to her new life as well as rounding up the rowdy sea serpents that Cordelia would have to discipline.
