So here is my event pet ^^;
This is kind of like underneath the sea toward the bottom of the design, but the setting sun on the ocean toward the top? Idk it ended up really pretty.
For this competition the most important parts of the form are A.) How well you show off the viscet’s personality/etc with everything you make (art/stories/etc) and B.) How aesthetically pleasing the form is.
Pretty much the grade will be ninety-ish percent how well you use your form/extras to show off the viscet’s personality, and ten percent “coding” or how visually pleasing/well put-together the form is.
So pretty much “coding” acts as a boost and/or tie breaker.

This is not an impress me. If your extras don’t highlight things about the character’s life/illustrate their personality/or lend to the “coding” most likely it will not help you. So keep that in mind when working on pieces of your form.

• In the required personality section, I am mainly looking for bare-bones. The way the character is now as opposed to how they got that way. The way they act and feel on a regular basis.
• Where as with the optional personality, you can put anything that pertains to the personality, short of stories.
• The extras are unlimited, but remember extras like “play lists” or “favorite foods” or other “filler” extras aren’t going to count much toward you (unless they suits your coding in some way I suppose)
• Quality and/or effort > bulk and/or filler
• No strange symbols/unreadable text fonts/unreadable colors. If you have a question about this, please PM me. (Basically keep in mind I have trouble with these types of fonts/unreadable colors and that makes it nearly impossible for me to read it without copying the text into another document- which would ruin the effects of your coding anyway)

“Hello, René.” She smiled thinly at him. "It's nice to see you all grown up." In return, he frowned slightly. “I don’t remember- you never told me who you were.”

“Me? I’m nobody,” she said with an ironic laugh, waving a heavily jeweled arm that suggested that she was anything but. “Your aunt and I went to school together, and- how do I put it? I once was very familiar with your friend Seamus. That is as much as you need to know.”

“I only have a few hours. What do you want from me?” René said calmly, gripping his teacup tightly. The other viscet glanced at him, silent for a moment. “I have some questions to ask, but that’s not important,” she said quietly. “I was thinking. What might you want?” Slowly, she unclasped a bracelet from her wrist. It glistened with rubies, and René knew from experience the sort of price an object like that might fetch in the right markets.

“No,” he said stiffly, almost angrily. “I won’t take anything from you, but don’t think I’m happy with this agreement. Why must you be so cryptic?”

She sighed. “You don’t trust me. But you don’t understand either, and there is no way to make you understand right now. Please bear with me.”

xxxxSeamus is compared to a summer day, with his warm smile and sunny attitude. He’s quite pleasant, if not somewhat lethargic and relaxed; though he is quick to thunderstorms of anger as well. However, like most summer showers, his anger passes quickly and his warm facade returns with no sign of the storm. He always is courteous, but generally indifferent toward other viscets’ affairs. Despite his amiability, Seamus is not very interested in forming close friendships with the viscets he meets; he’s slightly distrustful of strangers. He doesn’t seem to share much about himself in conversation, either. To most viscets, especially those who don’t know him very well, Seamus seems merely cordial and benign; though his mannerisms appear somewhat baffling at times, he doesn’t attract much notice or suspicion. Seamus works as part of the crew on a small ship; they mostly transport cargo and supplies from city to city, with the occasional passenger onboard. Though Seamus has worked various jobs in the past couple of years, his strong love of the ocean keeps him from wandering too far inland. He's pretty satisfied with the job he has; the pay is steady, and the other crewmembers don't intrude on his privacy or ask too many questions.

“Start at the beginning.” She commanded. “...what?” René asked.

“I meant the very beginning… when you first met Seamus.”

“Oh.” he responded.

“There was an old castle by the seashore that had been repurposed to become a boys’ home, an orphanage. That was where I grew up and also where I met Seamus. He was just a viscling when he arrived-”

“I know.” She whispered. “Go on.”

“He was very young, and I was toddling around. We didn’t get to know each other until we were old enough to play in the yard with others; then, despite the age difference we became inseparable. I stood up for him- you see, back then he was brutally honest with his opinions and terribly competitive with the other boys. That led to a few fights,” René chuckled. “And he, in return, was always fun to be with. He came up with complex games and adventures, as well as schemes to earn money and practical jokes to play on the others. We were a wild bunch then.” René paused, sighing. “That feels like so long ago.”

“But you’re still young,” she pointed out. “Both of you. What happened?”

In Depth:
xxxxThe way the ocean can be calm or wild from one moment to the next fascinates and almost frightens Seamus, though he has always loved the sea. The ocean is a familiar sight to him, yet there is much that remains a mystery about it. The same can actually be said for Seamus, actually. He certainly appears as described above, at least to others. Despite this, he can be very different when on his own or around those whom he has known for a long time.

xxxxSeamus nearly always seems cordial and polite; though those qualities are likable to others, they also create a barrier that prevents them from really getting to know Seamus. He's a polite listener, but that means that he doesn't say much about himself. He's friendly, but that means that he sometimes can’t share his own contrasting opinions. Seamus isn't intentionally trying to hide things about himself; it's just a habit he's fallen into. He's disinterested in - or maybe, subconsciously, he's afraid of - forming closer relationships with viscets he meets.

xxxxSeamus has grown to enjoy solitude, and when given a choice between conversation and privacy, he would choose the latter. Often, he is found staring off into the ocean. Sometimes when it's dark and he's alone in his cabin or on the deck, Seamus might even talk to himself, though he worries that someone’s listening; he finds that it helps him puzzle over problems and ease emotional hurts. He imagines that he's speaking with the viscets that he loves. He feels that he can act more like his true self around the viscets he's known and liked for a long time- those that he completely trusts. One of them is his friend René- he tries his best to keep in contact with his closest friend, though it's difficult sometimes.

“What happened?” The viscet prompted again. René shrugged. “We grew up.”

“I left the home when I grew too old to stay. We had plans…I wanted to come back when Seamus was old enough to leave, and we would have adventures like it is in the storybooks.” René laughed. “So I met my aunt for the first time,” René said with a frown. “She didn’t want me, not as a child. I didn’t think she’d want me then, but I wrote her a letter and she responded.”

“And Seamus?” the viscet asked impatiently.

“He… I don’t know what happened.” René said quietly. “I wrote him once I found a job where I was living with my aunt. He wrote back, and well, it sounded like he always had. Ambitious, hopeful, playful, and honest. But what he said made me very worried. He told me he ran away from the only home he had known; he told me he’d find his own fortune and then come find me.”

“I didn’t get word from him for a long time. I didn’t know what to do. It was many months later when I received another letter. It sounded… different. After that Seamus was never the same. We reunited, and eventually he told me about the months we spent apart. What specifically happened isn’t important; in short, he learned what the real world was like.”

“Seamus lost his spark. He seemed scared of taking risks, scared to leave his safe harbor. Ironically, despite his love for the sea- an unpredictable, wild, changing thing- he desired stability. He’s content, which is good, yet also bad because he has little ambition or interest left. When we were younger he would stand up to great challenges… now, I think he would just flee if he thought he couldn’t stand a chance.”

“But I always enjoy being with Seamus; he’s still my best friend,” René said, almost defensively. “He’s my best friend above anything. And you? Who are you to Seamus?”

She smiled mournfully. “I’m his mother.”

“You can’t be serious. You’re… what?”

We all know that girl that seems to be friends with everyone except to a few, who's always seemingly going out and having fun, or just somehow creating whatever they're possibly doing to be fun, exciting, and wild. We all know that girl, and in case you don't let me introduce you to Madelyn. Yes, I did say Madelyn. You wouldn't expect someone with such an innocent name like Madelyn to be the outgoing, wild, and exciting girl described previously, but believe it or not her name is quite misleading. Madelyn, or more commonly known as Maddie is very much so that girl that likes to party, go out and get into whatever trouble she possibly can, and just make her whole life and everything she does exciting. Maddie is your stereotypical party animal; reckless, manipulative, rebellious and uncommitted. She can be a dangerous person to hang around if you're afraid to get in trouble and break the rules, and this tends to cause her to dislike viscets that walk the straightened arrow and keep their nose clean, because the opposition in personalities is so diverse. It's not that she couldn't be friends with them and carry on a decent conversation with them, it's just she doesn't see how they can have fun without the possibility of getting in trouble, and if she ended up hanging out with someone who has always kept their nose clean it could cause more friction than needed, and she would prefer to just avoid it. The whole idea of friction also applies to relationships. When it comes to relationships she doesn't particularly believe that she could be in and stay in a relationship where the other viscet is completely okay with her being gone for who knows how long and most likely without a word to her partner about it. However, when it comes to her best friends, Jinx and Cascadia, she is usually with either one or both of them, and pretty much whatever plans she comes up with they are usually always aware of what's going on through her head, which usually winds up with the three of them participating in Maddie's idea. So, where she isn't very committed in a romantic relationship, she is very loyal and committed to her best friends. She might not be the best girlfriend or mate, but she is probably one of the best friends you could ever have.

How many sassy girls can you say that you know that absolutely loves food? Probably not too many. Maddie, however is one of those girls that absolutely loves food. She doesn't watch what she eats, yet she is able to maintain that healthy body that some envy. Which, in all honesty, even if Maddie was a bit on the heavier side she wouldn't mind. Why wouldn't she mind if her so-called perfect figure just dissolved? That's actually a fairly simple answer. Maddie loves herself and isn't the type of viscet to put others down due to their physical appearance because she understands that there are others that gain weight without much assistance, so she will typically be the one to step in and snap a few heads off if she catches them putting others down due to their physical appearance. Maddie has a clear understanding that bodies and physical appearances change over the years, whereas who you are on a personality level never will, so she doesn't believe that you should look upon yourself with hate and want to make constant changes to yourself, because in the end she knows you'll be remembered more for your personality and who you were versus what you looked like at some point in time. Her main advice to everyone would simply be to love yourself. It might not be easy, but even taking baby steps can make a world of difference.
