Kleeare (klee-are) are a species of nocturnal equine found on the island of Nocte. Most of the predators on the island are diurnal, hunting during the day and sleeping at night. In order to avoid the predators, Kleeare have evolved to do just the opposite, sleep during the day and be active at night. Due to this, Kleeare have whiskers and large ears to help them navigate in the dark. Though their most notable feature is their bioluminescent spots, made of bioluminescent cells and hollow, pigmentless hairs. They use these spots for communication, similar to a firefly.

Personality; Comet is quiet. He rarely speaks more than three words at once, even to his friends. He has deep thoughts and likes to puzzle things out. He is often intrigued by nature and likes to study things. Sometimes he forgets to have some fun and other Kleeare think he is boring or stuffy, but when he actually starts talking to someone he can be pretty fun. He is a handsome guy, but he doesn't seem to realize it. He has no particularly close friend(s) and no romantic interest, or at least not one that he is feeling brave enough to pursue. Generally he is just quiet because that is how he is, but he does tend to get shy around mares and a tongue tied if he tries to speak. He is a little clumsy at times. At times when he opens up and you get to know him he can be very sweet with endearing ways.
