Heart pounding and lungs working overtime, Kira pushed herself to keep running. She had to make it to Mistlyn by nightfall. The sun was high in the sky, and she had only gone a fraction of the way at this point. The hot sun, baring down on her in the shadeless valley she was traversing, made her thirst desperately.

Still she pushed herself to run father, faster. She had important news for the Mistlyn alpha, and surely Quintin was anxious for a reply. She continued tell herself that she could refresher water supply once she arrived, and that the sooner she returned, the more brownie points she would score with her Alpha.

One sunny summer afternoon, Todd was trying desperately to cool off his office building. As he was opening the doors to cool it off, he was his two sons walking towards the office in the distance. At first he thought nothing of it, they often came to his place of work for lunch or at the end of a playdate. After a few minutes went by that the two boys hadn't come barreling through the door, he got a little suspicious and peered out the window. Upon further inspection, he noticed that Burr was supporting Rin as they slowly wobbled and limped closer.

He walked out to meet them and carry Rin inside, once he caught up with them he asked "What did you get yourself into this time?"

Rin responded, "I just tripped and hurt my ankle on a tree root! That's it!"

Todd knew his boys better though, and so he turned to Burr and asked him "What did he get himself into this time?"

Burr looked towards the gorund as though he were trying to ignore the question. "I don't-" Todd managed to catch a dplit second of eye contact and give him that 'angry father' look - you know the one. He caved instantaneously "Okay okay! He jumped off a bridge into shallow water! I told him not to! I'm sorry dad!"

Rin, rolling his eyes, snapped "Thanks a lot, snitch!"

Anytime Kira left on her scouting missions, Zed would worry profusely. He knew how hard she would push herself to get her work done quickly. He worried she would lose her way, dehydrate or starve herself to cut stopping times, or that she may encounter an unfriendly DVF along the way, from whom her thin armor couldn't protect her.

The best way he had found to distract himself and stay productive when she was gone was to head for the trees and spend some time studying their properties, trying to create new potions for the clan's usage. He walked down the lonely path towards his favorite forest, towards the edge of the clan, and began sketching the trees and their species types for his reference book on the plants in their area. He had a lot of work ahead of him, as Rockhollow has quite a few different forest areas. Someday he hoped his work would prove to help the alchemy trainees. Perhaps when he is old and grey, he'll assist in bringing up the next generations of alchemists to be as knowledgable as he had taught himself to be.

*note that I first began this story and such last night when they were still eggs, if that matters

Dora woke up bright and early one morning to the sun shining into her den. Could it be true? Was the first day of spring really here? She hates the cold weather and had spent all winter indoors knitting things to keep the kits of the Dellhaven clan warm in the snow. Her calendar was riddled with markings counting down to this day, she absolutely couldn't wait to step out into the 70 degree weather!

Without even stopping to brush back her bedhead, she barged right through the door, only to find that the early morning temp was a brisk 55 degrees. Shivering slightly, she was just about to turn back around and retire inside until at least noon, when something spotted her eye. There was something in her garden? She hadn't been outside to plant anything yet this year. Ugh! Were those mushrooms? That's where the rosemary is supposed to go! What a nightmare!

Bracing for the cold, she walked closer to the mysterious shapes in her garden. It was a large batch of eggs! What? She'd never seen an egg-laying animal capable of producing these monstrous eggs. She gathered them delicately in her arms and brought them all inside until the alpha could come over to investigate and collect the eggs. She gathered her stash of knitted sweaters and scarves to make them a large, warm bed to warm them back up from the freezing cold spring outdoors. Worried they may be cold too, she wrapped each of them in a thick scarf before laying them all together on her kitchen floor.
